I believe a lot of the Christian or atheist participants -are- sincerely committed to the ideas of free speech and freedom (which includes the freedom of religion).
And non-violence. And peace.
I just don't think they're expressing themselves very well. Muddled thinking and inarticulateness lead to miscommunication. Anxiety leads to muddled thinking.
I understand all sides of this issue and I have not thought very deeply about it.
But my first impulse is to say that Draw Prophet Muhamed Day seems like a dumb idea because "The West" keeps trying to claim that we have nothing against Islam itself as a religion or against Muslims. That it is only violent attacks on innocent civilians that we're upset about.
Draw Prophet Muhamed Day does a terrible job of clearing up that ambiguity/misunderstanding. Yes, no?
I think Mohamed would rather want us to help the muslims that are being slaugterd like animals by crusaders in the muslim world than go and waste are money and time to rescue animals in the gulf of mexico that BP a rich oil companey caused in the first place and should be the only one fixing the problem and man you are way off base
positive message, good work! iA, i hope this sets an example as to how we should respond. i hope we remind ourselves that Muhammad (Saw) endured far more than what we witness today and he set an example for us to practice patience & to behave in a way that caused for his greatest enemies to love him dearly. may Allah swt reward you for your efforts as well!
