Another note- the kid at the end looks so torn... like he knows he doesnt want to be part of that... so sad. I've seen him a couple of times and he seems really nice.
I agree-- the kid at the end looks torn. Between his new "friends" and being the nice guy he was to me. That is why I left him in. You hit the nail on the head, yodel4life. It must be hard for him.
Yes, to answer your question, I plan to shoot in the lot until June, for a year, then put the doc together. I am not a video pro and am learning as I go.
Seeing the end of this makes me sad. I remember Brattleboro and Harmony as a great place, and I am sure it stil is...But what was up with that stuff at the end--how they didn't want to be filmed? I can only guess botched drug deal. I certainly hope that's not it.
I live in South Florida now and I have for about 12 years, but I remember that area well, and when I look here to get a glympse into a window into my past, I hope to see good things. The song was beautiful, by the way.
Yeah, I don't think the Old crow will care either way, so you're making a full documentary?
I do have a minor request though- you filmed us in Harmony the other day when we were playing our guitars- can you not put to much of the kid singing on here? That was really depressing and the chords I wrote to that particular song was meant to be a beautiful thing. I don't know, the kid is weird and I felt like he kinda in a small way ruined a wonderful happy Jam session.
Can you re- edit this so the song isn't so choppy? This is a beautiful song and a beautiful video, but you should totally re-edit the music part- other than that, great job sweety! I love how you're bring this to life!!!!! THANK YOU! And keep em' comming....
Yeah, bad sound editing. And bad recording job-- should have turned down the gain. Fast and dirty job to get it on the air. Will do a better job in the final doc. These are just vignettes to let people in the lot know what I am doing, and give them something back right away for being willing subjects. I probably cannot afford the rights to this song, but who knows... maybe I can get a grant.
Needs more banjo! Love this song, we always sing it when we do jams.
