  • great guitar in this select.

  • Always loved this clip, they really knew how to make music videos back then, today they're boring as hell.

  • She's not afraid of your 'night moves'.

  • She's awesome. Went platinum for her and Blondie!!!

  • me and my best friend were big Marilyn Martin fans. Unfortunately she was and is such an underrated artist.. I still love to hear the songs from her great albums!

  • Marilyn hit #28 in Billboard, 3-22-85. She was right. She preferred the rockier stuff, as opposed to 'Separate lives.' God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • @DaveWollenberg I think you mean 3-22-86 because her debut album wasn't released until early 1986! :-)

  • @Heartboy1031 You're right. I mistyped. LOL!

  • I have not heard this forever. I used to have a promo single and I loved this song. Unfortunately it never made the radio while all kinds of other boring music did. See, there was "Junk Music" back then too. I never saw the video for this song and was not aware of any. She reminds me of Madonna in Lucky Star when she is putting on the shades at the end. I hope this can be bought on iTunes or Amazon soon.

  • Damn that was a cool Creepy song and video :)

  • Marilyn Martin will be returning to the music scene. She is currently in the studio making a faith based album.

  • @RobertWGreaves I don't think so. Rock fans don't want to hear Republicans.

  • Love this song. Why on earth with a voice like hers, didn't she make it bigger.

  • Love this music!! Thanks for sharing!! Miss the good ole days!

  • Chew on this! It's a guilty pleasure. Like the first few minutes of a stick of juicy fruit with a twist of red hot cinnamon. ahhhh

  • wow still creepy :o

  • I love this song it's so cool and so is the video :)

  • It is a tune that is sexy and loved. It remains for a long time in the heart.

  • What a song. Tensed beat and great atmosphere. Simply unforgettable!

  • Doesn't this video remind you of the movie "The Hunger" starring David Bowie and Catherine Denuve? Especially the club scenes...way cool.

  • @kipnglenn .... I've read that it's based on that movie, yes.

  • love the 80's

  • underrated singer, powerful voice, also check out her version of Stevie Nicks's "Sorcerer" from the Streets of Fire S/track

  • I absolutely love this song and singer!!! I agree with Huntinbear 100% this is a GREAT video, when videos told a story!!

  • Great music video with a very odd story going on as well.

anyone remember a somewhat simmilar music video from around the same era. Set in a ski lodge or snowbound cabin. Except in the end the girl was some sort of snow beast/yeti?

  • @Omega2064 ....Y'know, I concider myself something of an expert in 80's music videos, but that rings 0 bells with me. Can you think of any other details?

  • @videobeagle

Not really. All I recall is that it was this couple out in the woods and snow. The woman doing the song I believe and her lover or someone she lured out to the remote cabin. And at the end she transforms into some sort of snow-beast and kills him. Used to play semi-regularly on the TBS channel during the early music video boom. I think it came out around the same time as Night Moves, or possibly predated it by a year or two. Been a long long time.

  • I love the ending. I wonder what came of Ms. Martin.

  • @girraud i fear she was eaten by that hood and never seen again! :-P

  • @girraud Marilyn Martin has been a Realtor on the CityLiving Team since 2005, and has practiced real estate since 2002. She came to real estate from a career in music, touring with such luminaries as Stevie Nicks and Don Henley, which led to a solo career featuring a duet with Phil Collins called “Separate Lives.”

  • @girraud She is now a realtor in Nashville, TN. She should really go back to singing; an extraordinary talent.

  • that girl in the hat and stripped shirt .. WOW .. nice butt ... 4:51 ... I miss mid-80s girls

  • Woww, this song have this kind of mysterious way and she knows how to seduce anyone with her unique voice!!!

  • Ha! But who can say that the Tall Dark Handsome Guy is thier cousin??? ME!! Love you in this Noll!

  • i think marilyn was great by herself, but her real talent was in the harmonies she could pull off while singing duets. unbelievable harmonies. plus her voice was more effective while sung in a more soft, sensual manner.

  • @Bradaighbunch I really miss listening to this type of music. I graduated in 1984 and I absolutely Love 80`s music. I wish she would have gone farther as a solo artist.

  • @coca94cola1 I graduated in 1984 also. I really miss the great music from back then, but I'm noticing some groups are going back to that era in their music and videos. Although, nothing is as great as the original.

  • Joe Lynn Turner's project Sunstorm covered this song on the self-titled CD. Good AOR tune with some hard rock punch.

  • He said: "Cornball nonsense attempting to be edgy.. with crap imagery and crap music..."

She said: "the women who waited for them while they did their murderous genocidal damage..... her, lusting in wait, he rock hard at battle "

  • so 80's love it!

  • It reminds me of the days of Top Gun and Miami Vice. Best times ever!

  • This woman is as good a singer as many others who made it big in 80's. There are just so many outlying elements to success in the music business.

  • This is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I had this on vinyl in the 80s. I no longer have a copy and it's virtually impossible to find one. Such a great singer.

  • Love tis old one too.

  • This video scared the crap out of me as a kid.

  • Total classic kick ass song.

  • I used to have the cassette . there were some good songs on it. Shes a sexy singer

  • Hit#18 rock,#25 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • Great song. I love how the video is completely inspired by "The Hunger"

  • i remember this video . its so crazy!!!!!

  • Marylin was a backup singer for Stevie Nicks for many years, and Maryling later released this hit song and solo albuim in 1986. But sadly, her music career flew as far as the Spruce Goose. She now sells business realty in Nashville, TN. However, she still looks as hot today as she did in 1986!

  • Love her voice.......and the music!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!

  • OMG My mom said she was in this video :D I think she's the one with the green shirt in the background at 4:48 LOLZ

  • Just remember playing this one loud on the car stereo back in the 80's. Just love this song.

  • Love this video...funny I loved this when I was a kid mwahaha!

  • About a week ago in Ohio I was visiting a friend who had terminal cancer and has since passed. When I went into the room where she was resting there were 3 women I had not met before. We spent an hour or two talking and I left. A day or two ago I was confronted by someone who said "Do you know who the pretty blonde women in the room was?" Obviously I said "no". To my surprise I find out it was Marilyn Martin. She was incredibly sweet and humble. A very nice woman. Happy to have met her.

  • Thanks for this! Shared this with allot of my friends who rocked out to this song when we were all growing up in the 80's.

  • Marilyn proved she could have a hit without havin' to lean on Phil Collins. Hit #28 in Billboard.

  • This video scared me so much when I was young.

  • Great song, great video, she was Stevie Nicks lead background singer...

  • lol.. I still like this song.

  • @segerfan, a LOT of songs share the same title, but having NOTHING to do with each other. (for example, Chicago AND Boston did "Stay The Night"). This nothing new.

  • This song sounds real good . A real good girl kick ass rock song . Marilyn Martin does her best with this song . No more ' separate lives ' this song is staying . Rock on Marilyn Martin . Hot rock!

  • I just bought the album on CD format! FINALLY found it! YEAH!

  • This video HAS been upped before, several times that I know of... it eventually always gets taken down. Hope this one is here to stay!

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ~ Merci

  • I think she was a vampire in this video. Scary.

  • first time i've seen the vid to this song. Really like....and her outfitt was cool as hell at the end.

  • This is a great song--one of the best of the '80s. I have her "Marilyn Martin" album, but unfortunately the only other song on there that I kind of liked was "Beauty and the Beast" (I'm surprised nobody's uploaded it yet to YouTube). The rest of the songs were unfortunately all rather forgettable IMO.

  • Correction. The song's name is "Beauty OR the Beast." :)

  • hey that detective/ cop was carlos on eazy money with rodney dangerfield he is the one that asked can i call you daaad?

  • This video paved the way for CSI..

  • LOL, yeah, and maybe lily from cold case can go back and help solve all the murders she done...lol

  • What a great video, this is back when rock/pop music was great.

  • Twilight, before Twilight was even written. Notice the male bodies hanging with holes in the neck. Kind of a bow to "The Hunger". But isn't the building at the end of the video, the same building they used in Fright Night (where Peter Vincent lived)

  • Serial Killer Diva! An infectious song that did not get enough airplay to be a hit, Video is great. The song is also very good on its own.

  • The album was good too :) Unfortunately, I no longer have it :(

  • I was just cleaning out the garage and I found my copy. Too bad I no longer had a turntable..

  • Typical 80s. Love it.

Perhaps she should have gone for another styling that had set her apart from the others. Blonde makes her look too nice and ordinary. She should have gone for the vamp look. Short red hair something like that.

  • 3SALTO: I like the fact that she does NOT look like a typical vampire - makes her that much more dangerous and diabolical! She was out to lure her prey, and if she HAD "gone for the vamp look," she wouldn't have been very successful (re: that loft-ful of dozens of hanging corpses!).

Also, the video would have been totally cheesy if she was all emo'd out. It's perfect as it is.

  • Freaking awesome song & video is wicked bad!!

  • Anybody have any idea who directed this video?

  • i just loved it!, what a good song and an amazing video!

  • Marilyn Martin sang the back up vocals on Tina Arena's song "Chains". Have a listen

  • Bass line is excellent, ghoulish...

  • Great tune.

  • What a Divaliscious video! A scorned vixen who slaughters preppie guys. And stores the bodies like MEAT in a warehouse. Who would have known? Its a great CAMP video bound to have its day in Retroland. Thanks Alan

  • Damn great video!

This hot lady now sells real estate in Memphis! She still looks great, too!

Wish she'd finished more albums. Amazing voice!

  • I have listened to this album for years. she is a great talent. She went to the same high school as me but she was about 3 years older. The album this song is on is way more progressive than most stuff that was out back then. That is probably why she wasn't as sucessful. Too bad. She is awesome. I suggest if you can get hold of a copy of this album you won't be disappointed. Too bad it is out of print though.

  • In the 80's, this was an excellent seduction song for the dance floor... and elsewhere ;-)

  • i used to have the full cassette until it got stolen. It was a great one. she has a sexy voice

  • Definitely see the similarities between her and Pat Benatar...also, this video clip borrows many visual elemts from the film "The Hunger".

  • Not available at some other locations

  • This record is not available in Limewire and maybe not even rhapsody

  • And the COOLEST Coat ever, rock on, Marilyn!

  • This video takes me back, thanks for posting! She has such a great voice.

  • ...and how sexy is this woman?? From 4:49 onward... damn....

  • Actually, she reminds me a lot of Ellen Foley...(sang female parts on Bat out of Hell)

Does anyone know if that's Taylor Negron walking out of the building at the end?

  • No, that isn't Taylor Negron. Similar features, but definitely not.

  • good tune; kinda reminds me of pat benatar

  • freaking awesome song! its an 80's thing but so cool. try 2 sing it! will hurt your lungs!!!

  • bought the album for £1.99 it's pretty cool

  • She reminds of Terri Nunn of Berlin! The song kind of sounds like Berlin too.

  • Love how this video is an homage to "The Hunger". I remember this being on the Tube before -- musta got taken down. Thanks for posting this.

  • What a great song that never got its due! And the vampire angel to the video -- very clever. It's at once incredibly sexy and dramatic, yet also eerie and alluring. Cool!

  • looks like all the strait guys were safe lol love the song and marilyn martin

  • LOVE the hooded coat at the end.

  • I love the ending. I saw this years ago and I still like that coat.

  • thank you for posting! i loved this vid when i first saw it years ago and have always wanted to see it again. loved how cool she looked in the last part with the black hood and the sunglasses!

  • I absoluetly love this song and this video!!! Thank you so much for posting it, best work she ever did!!

  • I love this video a lot it brings back memories and what ever happen to Marilyn Martin and where is she now?
