i didn't like cameron diaz's acting bcuz she just seemed like a heartless mother in the movie & if u read the book,somehow she's more motherly.like in the movie wen they were gonna go out as a family & kate didnt want 2 bcuz she felt ugly,her mom waznt like,"just get ur ass out of the house" she waz more understanding.

i thought the film was OK, but it really didn't do the book justice. For one they missed out Julia, who was for me massively important in developing campbell alexander as a character. and the ending was quite anticlimatic as the book had the twist of anna dying instead which was less obvious and very cleverly written.

I appreciated the film, but I was disappointed in the ending. It veered so sharply away from the twist at the end of the novel, I felt sort of let down. Overall, though, had I not read the book- I would say this movie is an outstanding drama. Taken apart from the original material, it is a solid piece of work and well worth watching. Thank you for the review too, it's good to know people still enjoy movies that make them think and question.

Nothing against the actors because they did do an awesome job but I just can't get past that part! Even Jodi Piccoult said she was unhappy with the movie ending but had no control! I honestly cried more in the book than the movie!

I get that books are different than movies but the book had an epilogue that essentially made the entire book and the movie completely left that out! For me that was just too much (I have read many books and never disliked their movies but this one just went too far)...

I saw this movie with my older sister in the theater, i didn't think i'd cry, i never cry during movies. But as we watched it we both realized this movie was every i and my grandma are going/went through. basically. I'm a very sick kid. i'm 16, and i have a ton of medical problems. my grandmother had cancer. i know what the people are going through in this movie. Me and my sister were balling out eyes out. It was a very very good movie.

Okay, if you read the book and compared the book to the movie, then most would say the movie was not that good. But if you judge the movie on its own then its real good. I read the book and I personally like the book way better.

I read the book. I end up crying at the ending. i hadn't expected that it was Anna who will die in a car accident. the scene at the hospital when they were about to pull off the life support, all the while it was katie her parents were saving all the photos and making a good memory-- when it was Anna who is going to die first. i love the author for such a moving story.

still have trouble seeing the mothers point of view on kidney donation....if something goes wrong during the trasnplant both girls could die? what if anna's other kidney fails later on? what if the kidney donation works but kate dies from the cancer anyways? and how far is mom willing to go with this donation stuff? kidney, lung, liver heart? i mean seriously.

*spoiler* In the book Katie didn't convice Anna to sue her parents, she did that on her own will, then Anna wins the case and Campbell is driving her home on a rainy night and they get in a car crash, Campbell and Judge live but Anna goes braindead, Katie gets Anna's kidney but Anna dies, in the epilogue Katie's talking about how the tranplant almost failed but didn't she hadn't relapsed since she keeps anna in her which makes her "her sister's keeper"

yeah i havent seen it but most of the reviews seem to say it would be good if not for direction that tries to get you to cry every two seconds, and a few say it kinda avoids some medical issues they could have gotten deeper into.
