  • casshern and vanquish (the game) FTW!

  • wow..i remember watching this scene and thinking "AW THIS IS SO KICK ASS!" but..looking back at it..that was a crapy ass fight scene. and im not bashing on the unrealistic special effects, im just saying..there was no actual choreography to blow me away. it just looked pretty because of the cgi and green screen :(

  • Does anyone know the theme where these clone people enter the castle in the sky (the one with the robots) just after they went throught the snow? It's an epical chorus "ahhh Ahhh ahh" and some violins and a silent lead piano in the background... just around minute 44:00 - 46:00. <3 it... anyone? :/

  • @champus89 I'll find it for you man. I have the soundtrack at home

  • The Back Horn - Requiem

  • THE MUSIC IS INCREDIBLE!!

what is the name and where can i download it?

  • WOOOOOOOW

...dass pro7 ein programmpaket gekauft hat, in dem DIESER film war....

    ingenius!

ich hab vorher noch nie SO eine mischung aus anime und live-action gesehen!

    3 daumen hoch!!!!

    BITTE ein bisschen mehr davon!

  • @ladidu schau dir mal Legend Of Goemon an, ist vom selben Regisseur, ähnlicher Stil und spielt in Feudal Japan. Mit einigen Ninjas, und co. ;)

  • was ich nich so kapiert habe

  • yes Blackmask165, Its a live film of the 1973 Anime cartoon. After seeing this I am out looking for It on DvD.

  • this is fantastic! i just wish it had its original japanese music instead of the heavy metal rock music it doesnt fit the scene well at all.

  • @doctorw2 this music is the original japanese music

  • F-ing. Epic.

  • No dood, the scene just B 4 this 1 is the kewlest =D The chik in heels fighting Tetsuya! C'mon upload that 1.

  • is this the same as the anime by funimation

  • @BlackMask165 It's the live action movie of it yes.

  • @puffie300 thanks for the info

  • i loveeee this movie, my fav!!

  • I've been trying to find the music for this scene, but to no avail. Anyone know the title of it?

  • Comment removed

  • @jediphoenix The Black Horn - Requiem...As far as I know, there isn't a instrumental version...

  • @jediphoenix Save yourself the trouble, the music is total garbage. Just enjoy the scene and disregard the awful rock song.

  • you know what i am thankful for? some ignorant person has not looked at this video and asking probably the most insulting question about this movie.....i quote "LOL, what is this? some kinda power rangers er somethin?" it pisses me off just typin that trust me.

  • awesome scene. Still miss his helmet though, :)

  • @elezzar Wait. The extra twenty minutes added stuff? Hm. I guess I just fell asleep during those parts.

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Laugh at how people make so many excuses for shit that isn't made in America. If an American movie had a bunch of stupid looking robots that just stood there getting fucked up, with terrible CG horribly composited so it looked like people were floating over backgrounds, you'd go nuts about how awful Hollywood is. But it's from Japan so it must be awesome.

  • @pimphofoo Amen to that!

  • @pimphofoo It's awesome because it was made for only $60 million and looks a lot better than most of the stuff that came out during the same time.

  • @pimphofoo weeabos i think they are called?

  • @pimphofoo hollywood delivers more than its fair share of bullshit only hollywood doesnt have the excuse of low budget. You think america is somehow being victimised?

  • ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER! KICKS HOLLYWOODS ASS!!!

  • my main reason for buying this years ago was this scene. Bad ass.

  • Damn, the moon is just too damn close to the earth

  • the localization was a piece of shit. the cut out scenes, rearranged the movie, and changed the context with an inferior translation to the Japanese release. SHAME on Dreamworks for taking over 3 years to say fuck you to Casshern fans.

  • you know, the effects were... erm... idk... but i love the fact that the makers were tryin gto stick with the manga/ anime action feel for casshern.

  • رائع

  • What's with the Japanese wearing a Third Reich uniform in the flashbacks towards the end?

  • @Necrozillla mabey they couldnt find actual german actors for the nazis? o.o

  • damn i forgot how good this movie was....

  • The people who handled the DVD releases should be shot. This movie was edited and cut a ridiculous amount of times. The US dvd was raped of 30 minutes of footage. The only available Blu Ray was in German with no English subtitles, the beginning was slightly different, it was only in 1080i, and it was missing a scene. The imported dvd had everything but the video quality wasn't great....So can we PLEASE get a real true Blu Ray version with no edits? Please?

  • Americans going the route of replacing the entire action scene with a CG, Japanese does a little different. I can see they try to keep the live-action as much as possible and not take the CG take over. I think it's an interesting approach. For those of who are complaining about the CG heavy movie over saturating our entertainment industry, have this a look.

  • @tkoizumi

I agree with you. When thinking it that way and rewatching this scene, there is something so human and so believable about it that I don't see in the American films where everything is replaced with CGI.

  • Wow, this movie was more than a little bit mental and I think the robots were a mistake, but I really, really enjoyed it.

  • @bubb95 Kinda hard to make a movie based on Robot Hunter Casshern without robots in it don't you think?

  • sooo, he was almost dead, couldnt even move, but in a miute he is able to kill em all, in the most amazing way... YEAH!!!

  • Finished this movie 15 minutes ago. The emotions looked so real and legitimate, the special effects were great too. All around, the movie delivered. I just wish my subs weren't retarded. They got lagger and lagger to the point where the last 20-30 minutes didn't have any subs.

  • ingin nonton!

  • i like those robots. but since they are at evil side i hate it

  • ... oh gosh... it started out looking alright but the fight scene looks very flashy. My only complaint other than the SFX needing some major help. Other than that cinematography was interesting.

  • is this a special song at 2:22 or part of the soundtrack???

(would appreciate to get the name of it)

  • @Golddorn

It's on the soundtrack. Don't have the title to hand.

  • @Golddorn

actually found it - 'Requiem' by japanese rock band 'The Back Horn'

  • @NeverOffside

hey thank you so much - i just recognized that its written beneath for several times - so sorry^^

i really appreciate your help ;)

  • i haven't seen this movie in a very long time, i need to find it and download it.

  • @StopCallingMeSteveo It's from Requiem - The Back Horn

  • This is fucking epic!

  • This bites I just bought this movie and found out that the original Japanese version is 30 minutes longer. This U.S. theatrical cut will probably suck now. damn.

  • @SpikeDubbs yeah but all the extra footage is pointless and overall adds nothing to the film. There is a point where you find out Luna's mom is dead, but it was pointless and only served as a catalyst for the whole "war is bad message" other than that the footage is just little tiny bits that literally add to nothing. Also the DVD is the more understandable version. That doesn't say much, but it says a little.

  • Yea I know. Like I found out the director's cut is 125 minutes as opposed to the U.S. theatrical cut which is 117 minutes. And the version I just bought (after returning my previous copy) is the uncut Jap. version with a runtime of a whopping 142 minutes. I should've realized that if the director's cut didn't include a lot of scenes then the uncut version probly had a lot of pointless moments. Thanks for the info.

  • @SpikeDubbs well when you break down all of the movie its really pointless. Sure it has all sorts of messages, but look at the source material. A series that that had developed characters an established story and a developed world (actually that last one is questionable). The story itself was filled with action and robots. This movie does not have well developed characters an established story nor a developed world.

  • True but i that i knew nothing about cashern, i was amazed by how many messages they got through the movie, which is good but casshern is nothing like that as the anime.

  • @au25 Actually the original Casshern from 1973 had a small environmental message. And the movie didn't work in or get many messages through, the director just put one message in there and put it in as many times as he could. It disrupted the flow of the story. Also keep in mind that the director was trying to make a commentary of war but skipped over the war scenes so very fast to get to the story and then abandoned the story for the anti war message.

  • amazing movie.

  • Yeah, seriously. What's the song name?

  • The Back Horn - Requiem (Casshern Soundtrack)

  • Thanks, I found it. This was a great movie, by the way.

  • what song is this?

  • Moviiieee!!! I never know that!!! OwO

  • I had to read up loads of stuff to finally understanding it...I thought it was pretty good, apart from the cheesiness....like this scene...I mean its cool, but so cool its cheesy. Its too video gamey, the only difference between this scene and the anime is the facial expressions...they are expressed much better here.

  • Visually this movie transends the need to even hear spoken words. When i first watched it i could not put it to subtitles, but when i finally did see it that way i was 99% accurate in knowing what was going on despite my extremely limited ability to understand any other language.

  • How do you confuse Japanese and Chinese? One speaks in tones the other doesnt HUGE difference

  • 3:41 Dante using Gilgamesh in Devil May Cry 4?!

  • This was one of the best movies I watched when it came out. I was disappointed that it received so little artistic recognition.....and popular recognition.

If you haven't seen it....then you should.

  • chainspell you have inferiority complex

  • The anime version is wicked to.

  • actually, it is based on a cartoon that showed everything you mention as "superman killing things" in the early 60's. Sooooo....no plagiarism here.

  • yup, movie adaptation of an old cartoon. I understand that the movie is very dissimilar though.

kind of hard to follow, but I loved the style and found it pretty enjoyable.

  • yoooo.....this is not a chinese version its japanese

  • twisted1983

    CASSHERN original anime 1973 1993

    CASSHERN movie 2004

    HELL BOY original comic 1994

    HELL BOY 1 2004 HELL BOY 2 2008

  • imo you don´t understand the asian way of making movies at all. It´s very different from the western way and i like it as their movies are more focused on the assembling of pictures and moods. This are the movies for next generation imo.

  • Are you serious? Kiriya's videos for Utada are freakin' masterpieces compared to the cliched garbage being passed off as music videos in America, his stuff is art.

Go back under that rock you crawl out from.

  • I agree, it's art: but so would be me shitting on your front porch. It's hard to watch a 2 hour Japanese music video. I also agree that the visual and cinematic aspects have very much to draw from, but will stick to the fact that the story is horribly paced with obvious plot twists and overy dramatic bad acting.

  • just eat a dick.

  • But who's dick? You could mean anyone's, even your own dick.

So please say something more appropriate as

    "Please go your mothers dick"

  • maybe - but the story of casshern is waaaaaaaaaaaaaybetter

  • Yeap, but need to take note that, for Japanese action film, CG is still immature, under-budget (unlike Hollywood), and this film was made earlier before 300 and Sin City.

300 looks way better, but I hope that Japanese action film will catch up, since they have interesting story, and comics

  • BGM is awesome!

I guess Black Horn is playing this music.

I want instrumental version, but I 've not got it yet. Dose anyone know how to do it.?

  • awesome movie, awesome soundtrack

  • i didnt know casshern could get tired. lol damn this is so unrealistic even though we have the technology to make muscle resitant to climate change, oh well

  • Holy shit where can i get this movie??? O.O

  • when you hear music like that, you know a smakcown is comin!

  • Does anyone know were I can find this intrumental song, tnx for help!

  • Tetsuya!! Tetsuo!! Kaneda!!!!!

Matrix, Superman, Akira and some Vampire god movie combined. Killer job.

  • I can't wait to fight as him in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Definitely had to watch this before the game comes out. Casshern is epic!!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the first song ?

  • EPIC EPIC EPIC!!!

  • Whats the name of the battle scene song? I have looked everywhere for it!

  • "Requiem" by The Back Horn

  • Hi! Do you have this song in instrumental version? I cant find it anywhere :-(

  • I want this instrumental version, too!!!!

    its so great!!!!!!!!!!

  • Orly? Have you looked in OUTERSPACE!??!

  • It's called Requiem by The Back Horn!

  • yeagh I know that,: )

but were can I find the instrumental song?

  • orada ki şarkının ismi ney :S bir türlü bulamıyorum yardımcı olursanız sevinirim

  • i loved this movie

  • OMG that was hardcore O_O

  • this film is too cool :D

  • I don't know what some people complain about the special effects in japanese movies. I think they are awesome!

  • agreed

  • me 2

  • me 3

  • KakkoiGranXiongmao--I agree with you. Why is that? The special effects of Casshern is very similar to 300 & Sin City, yet people don't complain about these 2 movies! a phenomena indeed....

  • @KakkoiGranXiongmao Where can i found more movies like this. I like this type of effects? Any other Live action animi movies like this exist? The people who did this movie should be the ones making Akira !!!!

  • @fullstack2 check out film Goemon by the same director. Though it's far not that mind-piercing like Casshern was. Still the graphic is awesome.

  • AWSOME MOVIE!~!

  • lol if this ever comes to america its being made into a megaman movie

  • It's already in America.

  • someone please tell me the music used in this fight sceene

  • its Requiem by Japanese band called The Back Horn

  • Would Anybody Know Where To Buy That Helmet He Is Wearing?

  • ebay

  • i love how the robots are put into the movie, they look so real!

  • i really liked this movie... it felt like watching an anime but not an anime at the same time

  • the best movie in the entire world!!!!

  • I loved this movie. At the part where Madori found out her son died almost made me cry lol :(

  • I loved the movie. Even the faults the reviewers mentioned and hated were things I liked about the film.

It is very sad, tragic even. A bad/tragic ending and no apologies. Great stuff imo.

  • I was kind of confused at the end, but still sad, because Tetsuya and Luna died. Could you explain the ending

  • my favorite movie scene..gz m8 for putting it up :)

  • you gotta admit he looks like megaman from that internet based thing and that guy in the red robe looks alot like sigma or maybe even protoman

  • i wanna see this movie so badly! for some reason people think this is a live action megaman thing.

  • @mdp311 well, Casshern looks like Rockman/Megaman, that's the reason

  • I Read All the comments on these casshern videos and people HATED the movie, why?,it was awesome,This is to the Guys who didnt like it:You don't like it cause your jealous of tetsuya's sexiness, and to women who don't like movie: your jealous of luna's looks,

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO LOVED IT.

  • I LOVED THE MOVIE,although the end was quite Sad,When tetsuya And Luna exploded,I Got to see the full version(Even cut scenes),loved it,5 stars outta 5!

  • at the end, i understood that they were flying in the univers like a commet :D

  • the FULL movie? are you sure? i believe they took about an hour and a half for the american version. (it's an anti-war movie, so americans wouldn't like it, seeing as how we're in a war right now)

  • U dick hes trying to protect her u dumbass, wat moyivates u fool, some guy uses a robot army to gun u down and you say he has no motivation dickhead!!

  • americans got the watered down version of the film, they took out 30-40 mins that was all character developement and storyline, so it made absolutely no sence to me until the very end.

  • Did they just distribute the DVDs differently or did Japan get like a director cut deal?

  • Someone explain how it's a farce? It worked! so it's not a farce...i dont understand. also he said azuma didnt get the neo-cells to work, well they worked on tetsuya...so WTF? amd y did they explode at the end

  • they all exploded because an atom bomb went off, duhh

  • no after that...casshern and his g/f blew up into the sky or something while they were hugging.

  • He opened the suit, which released the pressure of the constantly-expanding neocells.

  • Actually "she" did. She rips it off because she had mixed blood, and was torn between tearing him apart and loving him.

  • hi there all, watched this film the other day, i was wondering what the music in it was? no not the black horn music metal one but the first fight scene that tetsuya has when he is busted out of the stasis? its like a dance song. been trying to find a fan vid that uses it to find out the song name or the band/dj/ composer that did it. anyone here know?

    ta :)

  • Written and sung by the director's wife. I think they're divorced now.

It's sung by Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru. It's called "Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro"

  • really cool

  • it looks better than spiderman and matrix put together. though the matrix 1 was still hot.

  • The plot is a little hard to understand...but I think the visuals are great and the movie is very creative...I don't think a lot of people notice art when they see it.

  • To put my last post in a nutshell;

this film would rape if it had a HUGE huge budget.

  • Anybody who pisses on this film for it's (poor) graphics are nothin but purely ignorant. They only had a one million dollar budget on this movie from what I read 3 to 4 years ago. This is definitely one of the most memorable films I've ever seen; the ideas, choreography, scenarios, and soundtrack were amazingly well put together.

  • Poor graphics?...personally i thought the graphics were amazing..much better than shitty hollywood spiderman movies and such.

  • The graphics are awesome, but of course they could have been better if they were given a bigger budget. It's too bad the Japanese don't get the budget they need and if they did we would have way more masterpieces like Casshern

  • Effecs, you mean? lol.

  • i saw this movie long time ago...at the first glance i admit i thought bad about it,it looked freaky and strange...

but i watched it a second time, and i realized, its actually beautiful...

  • This was a sick movie.

  • sickest movie ever...ever... seriously one of my fave's now.

  • any one know were i can see this online or download

  • The Back Horn - Requiem

:p i wanted to know myself

  • whats the song called guys? ive been trying to find it but i cant! thanks guys:)

  • Does anyone have the scene missing from the US version of Casshern? People on IMDB say the only way you can get it is to buy the region 3 DVD, but I just want to see the part that's missing. Can anyone help?

  • Shows how simple minded you are.

  • racist ass fuck. no its not something to "lol". your a prick.

  • Aren't you from America? *going by your profile* lol

  • Youre a fagget iluvfirenze. Go fuck fuck your mother you bastard.
