@tickyul Cats are domesticated, this means that the wild is bred out of them. They are not as domesticated as dogs, which is shown when they swipe or hiss and are hard to tame. Cats still rely on humans because they wouldn't survive in the wild as easily. Even if they were big it requires more than size for it to even consider killing a human. It's part of their instinct to hunt and catch PREY domesticated cats do not know they are meant to actually eat anything, but they still have those urges.

Cats who haven't learned there needs to be something tangible to kill at the end of a hunt end up getting obsessed with laser pointers and continue to go nuts over them every time they're offered as toys. Cats who have, don't--they hit the spot once, find that there's nothing there, and ignore them as illusions from then on. I have three cats who've all rejected laser pointers as toys because they know they need something physical to "kill".

Cats seem less prone to the phenomena than dogs, but certain cats and dogs can develop OCD symptoms to laser pointers because no matter what they do its impossible to catch them even if their eyes tell them they've caught it. If you've been playing with a cat with it a while and she hasn't developed any OCD stereotype behavior your probably fine, but vets do recomend that you DONT use a laser pointer with pets. Its not well understood.
