2. i think it's funny how they talk about whether it "fit right in" - whether the dubbing was okay. EVERY show is dubbed in sooo many languages and they are only becoming aware of that now? lol

i don't think Americans get that 90 % of the TV shows we watch ARE in fact American - and of course it looks real when the actors talk (eg. german.) who would watch it otherwise?

Well, not all countries have such professional dubbing as Germany. In fact, German dubbing is pretty much top of the line. There's a lot of awfully dubbed stuff out there. And then, many countries solely use subtitles.

i think subtitles are a great solution, too because then you learn English without even noticing :) (see all the Scandinavian countries for example)
