Globalization really took a lot of jobs from American citizens-not that I have a grudge over the people who took those jobs. Hell they're poorer and live in crappier neighborhoods than we do. It's just, that was a realistic social problem in the 90s. Other than that, the music, movies, are some of my favorite. It will be a very long time before we see anything as gritty and real as Fresh.

I was 12 in 1994. This scene right here took me right back to the grimy streets of Brooklyn and Queens. We would all be sitting there talking and having a good time and some idiot with a gun would want to start something. My cousin got shot in the head over a stupid argument. You couldn't even step on someone's shoes in a basketball game without fear of getting shot dead. Shows how intelligent Fresh is to keep his cool and not retaliate like an idiot.

@ChristyTheLovely It closed down due to globalization, the factory moved to Mexico. Globalization really took a lot of jobs from American citizens-not that I have a grudge over the people who took those jobs. Hell they're poorer and live in crappier neighborhoods than we do. It's just, that was a realistic social problem in the 90s. Other than that, the music, movies, are some of my favorite. It will be a very long time before we see anything as gritty and real as Fresh.

The factory closed down and you could literally witness it slowly decaying all throughout the 90s. There was a lot of crime there, my best friend's dad got shot in front of my school, we lived next to drug dealers, and it took my parents like 15 years to save up enough money to move out of there.
