@ylen13 Most people would prefer a ticket after hearing the 125dB produced by Federal Q siren. It's powerful enough to break glass and cause permanent hearing damage after only a few minutes. It also produces a unique square sound wave that penetrates through materials which means you'll experience its full intensity even inside you're car.
It all depends on where you go in the U.S., there are a few states that allow there Emergency vehicles to have blue with red. New York is red and clear to front, red and amber to the back or clear. Now DOT law changed for NY LE's they are allowed to have blue rear facing but not any front facing. Ever since new DOT laws FD's and EMS are trying to impliment it for them also. Many FD's are adding blue to the rear anyways and not following the DOT law where there not allowed to have blue in rear
In Michigan, only law enforcement vehicles are allowed blue lights. I have been in several states where I have seen blue on ambulances...don't remember about Fire Trucks in other states....
@admiralackbar999 The "Q" is federal signals best selling mechanical siren. It is the classic "american siren" on trucks, the wind up ones. When its on full blast(screaming) It can actully crack cars windows. Youtube it, and see the power it has.
I think the electronic Q is a nice compromise between having a siren that sounds like a fire truck and not having something that gets the "concerned citizens" too upset about high-decibels. But if it were up to me I would have real Q's on all the apparatus no matter what. The reason being how would these "concerned citizens" feel if it was their place of residence that was burning?
Its called "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY"
