@PoncyTank Sicilian Mafia controls Rome...Rome controls Italy. Not so much now, both organizations are laying low since the 90's but still hold considerable power.
Italian and French are the most beautiful languages in my opinion. I mean, Furio said "I got a hard on" and it sounded like something out of an opera, lol. French is the same way, no matter what you say it sounds nice.
@Fit4Purpose80 Ah I see. Still.. it's funny how those translate sometimes. I remember a comedian doing a bit years ago where he said something beautiful in French which translated to "Make the pig noise". That's one thing about English, it's difficult to disguise something like that.
@Madams1977 This is not even Italian, this is neapolitan, the dialect that people of Naples speak. It is sometime hard to understand also to italian people
@mrfreeze0054 Oh hell yea, this guy was built. You see the scene where he went solo into the whore house and messed everyone up in there. Hands down Furio was Tony's best man for getting something Physically done
@DrPoon Not necessarily. Tony told Carmella after she said he made Furio flee back to Italy that if certain people see him, he's a dead man. Maybe he got away, maybe he didn't.
Furio:ce sta na femmena Camorrista:e se è accussi tornatene a casa ri issa... Furio:issa e a mojera ro boss Camorrista:Sopràno?
Anybody who has build a life in a foreign country knows what Furio is feeling. It's like... having two mothers. You develop this idealistic view of your biological mother, but once you get to see her again you realize she doesn't leave up to the image you created. And then you become aware of the bounds you've made with your adoptive mother/land (in Furio's case, love).
Tony wud have completely solidified his power if he decided to create a large zip faction in his family instead of havin jus furio stay and hitmen come over on occassion. Since he established a partnership with Annalisa's Camorra clan he should have made a deal to have 50 to a 100 recruits from Annalisa's family in Naples come over just like furio for the long haul. New York and especially that arrogant scumbag Leotardo wud think twice about pushing jersey around if Tony had that ace in the hole
@havik206 Tony certainly wouldn't be able to afford it. These Italians would never leave their land just to please their American counterparts; they would request loads of money, no doubt.
@sneeptheelite! Get a life you loser! Who are you to say Italians look down on Americans! That means that just because I have a euro passport means that I should look down on you!
lol at these comments. If you weren't born in Italy, if you don't speak Italian, you're not italian even if your parents where. My parents are Irish but I don't claim to be Irish because I've never set foot in that country. I'm Australian because I was born here and grew up here, just like these so called Italian-Americans are really just Americans.
@greekboy2k ya.. sure sicily is the mafia stronghold in italy and the birthplace of the mafia ..... but naples is one of the most dangerous cities in italy ... the camorra is the oldest and is one of the most ruthless crime organizations in italy and they are based in naples even though they are divided into clans and are not as organized as the sicilian mafia ..... theres also the Ndrangheta based out of calabria ...... at total the mafia controls like literally 30% of italys economy
italians really do have a stick up their ass, its like when you watch a lasagna recipe on youtube, you get all these wops complaining how its not made right/been made americanized and all this shit
@SharksKid Congratulations, you've just written one of the most uneducated, ill-informed and pretty much ridiculous comment ever written on an internet forum. On behalf of over approx (1st and 2nd generation) 100million Italians all over the world, I'd like to say thanks for the laugh
Love how he puts his lawyer on hold to loudly and clearly tell Furio that he would need to kill the boss to get what he wanted, lol that be an interesting convo to over hear
@thunderdome77 That would have to be one of the most ignorant and pathetic comments I've ever heard. Yes the economy and employment back home is not ideal and some like myself emigrated, but Italians don't want to be "American Italians". @Pentagon1311 because tonys family is from naples they have long standing ties if u watch the season 2 episode where tony goes to italy the female boss says "we're cousins"
@Pentagon1311 Because if you watch the show, his grandfather and father hailed from Avellino, a town in the Campania region, seen over by the Camorra. That's why they speak in the Napolitan dialect, Furio hails from Naples as well. The mafia in the US callaborates right across Italy from Sicily to Milan

of course you wouldn't because judging from what you've written you can't speak Italian so how could you even understand it. Is 'Baffangul' supposed to be 'va fun cuolo' but in your own "cool" way? You must be one of those self-proclaimed Italians who is like 6th generation Italian and thinks the show "Jersey Shore" is " just the best"
@furb393 ..jersey shore is a bunch of gay guys, and pretensious i cant even call them women, plastic looking skanks comes to mind. have no clue what life is really all about. they all need to be dropped into a 3rd world countey where people are dying from hunger, desease, no water. lame ass jersey idiots
@65ludwig - The problem is they call themselves Italian when they can't speak the language, have never been to the country and the last person in their family who was born there was like 5 or 6 generations previous. its great to be proud of your heritage but you have to make your heritage proud too
the italians of america are way too americanized. the italian culture is something to be proud of. preserving your culture is something that every nation should do. its youre identity , its who you are.
@yordanosi - its different in Australia, there are still many 1st gen Italians here and so the culture is still very strong. Unfortunately though many of the 2nd gen (their children) don't speak Italian to *their* children, the 3rd gen & they are losing the identity and culture. Also many Italian girls (being as gorgeous as they are) are marrying into Australian/English families and thus losing the language/culture. And for the record, no I am NOT against italians marrying other nationalities!
@yordanosi AMERICA HAS NO CULTURE.... AMERICANS BITCH AND CRY ABOUT IMMIGRANTS DONT EMBRACE AMERICAN CULTURE BUT WTF? WHATS THE AMERICAN CULTURE? ITS ALL MADE OF DIFFERENT ONES
@furb393 well i think we can agree that Italy is more than a language being that there are so many different dialects so it wouldn't make a difference. 2nd most Italian Americans aren't 5-6 generation. 3rd even if they were it wouldn't matter. genetically they are Italian so its in there blood, so you can't disown them. i say they are just another unique branch of the global Italian community.
@bfbjr dude over 110yrs you're going to end up with 5th or even 6th generation. Eg. 1st born 1900, 2nd born 1925, 3rd born 1950, 4th born 1975, 5th born 1990, etc. depending on how early/late they went to the US from Italy and bore children there. You are right in that there are still Italians migrating over to the US now but obviously not as many as pre and post war periods
@furb393 Thanks for the reply. I am speaking from my point of reference only, having grown up in NY. My great grandfather b 1896 came from Carlopoli, Calabria in 1917. My grandmother was born in 1924, my father in 1949 and myself in 1970. So I am third generation Italian American. My daughter was born in 2008 so she would be 4th generation in a span of 114 years. It obviously depends when each person in succession has children in their lives of course.
@bfbjr good call. I was born around the same time as yourself, however my father was born 1937 and I am a dual citizen, Italian and Australian. We came from near Avellino (Montesarchio), my father was a stonemason, leaving school at 11 to work because of the poverty at the time. Good to see that the Italian community in the US is strong and that shows like 'Jersey Shore' are not indicative of the Italians in the US.
@AvengefulAngel they are not Italian. Go to Italy and you'll see the young Italians are nothing like that, the women dress beautifully and act nothing like that fuckin idiot "snooky" or "snoopy" or whatever the fuck that short fat puttana's name is
@AvengefulAngel, most of the idiots on that show aren't even Italian. That little troll Snooki likes to pretend she is because she was adopted by Italians but in reality she's South American. Jwow is Irish & Spanish I think, Ronnie is a Puerto Rican, and the situation is Jewish (from what i hear) he just likes to refer to himself as Italian. There's only like 1 person on that whole fucking show who's actually full-blooded Italian.
@LordJdt2000 - Directly translated, you're right - But in translation whilst he was almost talking in slang, saying "he had a hard on" when he was "all excited" is actually correct. Its the same as telling someone to get fucked doesn't directly translate into "go and do it up the arse" as our famous saying directly translates to
who knows the title of the song playing in the back ground when carmella and her girl frinds are in the resturant. he is a bling singer, carmella says how good looking he is. anybody know???
I was born in Montesarchio, and I can tell you the old man is definitely Neapolitan, the actor playing Furio gives it a good attempt but struggles with the accent. As far as the litter goes, Napoli is a dirty city, thats no secret but obviously the smaller cities/towns and countryside are a lot better. The town Avellino that is mentioned in this programme is near another Benevento and they are both beautiful.
Furios right about the litter. Ive been to Italy plenty and the litter an graffitti is unbelievable. Even near famous monuments. Pisses me off cos its a beautiful country...
@archeronfoot Apparently graffitti is an age old Roman tradition. Graffitti was common on monuments near to election times for the senate or tribunate even though prescribed by law
its hilarious how they speak the same kind of way as in godfather etc. and in the same kind of "mlahumli da vaca du verde" slow kind of´somberspeak and the subtitles show endless cussing
neither sound like napolitans ,they are speaking too clearly,is the episode wer pauli fucks a young prozzie and shes from his grandads town ? cant find it
Furio speakes much more clearer then actuall guys from Napoli do...I mean, he is obviously speaking they dialect, though, I think they moan much more...I speak italian and had lots of friends from Naples...and sometimes, i didnt get shit! and not just because of the different words.
I think the old man sounds more like them.
"ha fottuto tante feminne, ha campatto una bella vitta!"
@fradamor Ti correggo, non siamo TUTTI così,a dire che non siamo così è da ipocriti, perkè di gente così nel nostro BelPaese è piena...anche di peggiori...ciaooo
@fradamor cosi vero! mio babbo e' nato in il nord di italia ma sono americano ma lui ha insegnato me come parlare italiano. Forse un giorno andro' su un viaggio a italia a bologna!
How could I hurt my fingers proving a point? Or more importantly, how can rapid typing be detrimental to my health? Has my superior intellect forced you into a state of incoherency?
And for the record, this isn't an internet argument, it's an internet schooling, I'm educating you.
The correct spelling is "Remember".
Now, follow up with something equally childish, though I doubt you can surpass the level of stupidity achieved in your last post, though, in the depths of your ignorance, I suppose anything is possible.
that's all fine and well but it dosent change the fact that 1.your my bitch 2. your following my demands subconsiously (correct that for me peasant) 3. No one gives a shit about your grammatical abilities.
I know your going to comment back because your too weak to let it go.
dear yourdanis.. I speak Napolitan because I am Neapolitan and I live in Naples .. in Italy there are many dialects, but Napolitan it's known throughout the world, and I'm proud for that .. Links? there are some, but the translation is not understandable, as the dialect has various forms to compose a sentence ..
the napolitan dialect, calabrese, and sicilian are kinda of the same right ?? or are they different ...... i allready been to milan and turin butt in southern italy it sounds like they are speaking a totally diferent language
@depeche79 Could you be any more of a fuckin' idiot do you think or is there a bit of space left in that shell you call a head for another nugget of shit?
it can say that in Italy there are 21 languages: The Italian, that is the national language and 20 other dialects corresponding to the 20 regions in which Italy is divided all very different...

FullSwagSyceGame507 10 months ago
@furb393 Hardly any 6th generation Italians in America. 3rd or 4th at most as most came to the US 1900-1920 or so.
bfbjr 1 year ago
@bfbjr dude over 110yrs you're going to end up with 5th or even 6th generation. Eg. 1st born 1900, 2nd born 1925, 3rd born 1950, 4th born 1975, 5th born 1990, etc. depending on how early/late they went to the US from Italy and bore children there. You are right in that there are still Italians migrating over to the US now but obviously not as many as pre and post war periods
furb393 1 year ago
@furb393 Thanks for the reply. I am speaking from my point of reference only, having grown up in NY. My great grandfather b 1896 came from Carlopoli, Calabria in 1917. My grandmother was born in 1924, my father in 1949 and myself in 1970. So I am third generation Italian American. My daughter was born in 2008 so she would be 4th generation in a span of 114 years. It obviously depends when each person in succession has children in their lives of course.
bfbjr 1 year ago
@bfbjr good call. I was born around the same time as yourself, however my father was born 1937 and I am a dual citizen, Italian and Australian. We came from near Avellino (Montesarchio), my father was a stonemason, leaving school at 11 to work because of the poverty at the time. Good to see that the Italian community in the US is strong and that shows like 'Jersey Shore' are not indicative of the Italians in the US.

The town Avellino that is mentioned in this programme is near another Benevento and they are both beautiful.
furb393 2 years ago 4
Furios right about the litter. Ive been to Italy plenty and the litter an graffitti is unbelievable. Even near famous monuments. Pisses me off cos its a beautiful country...
archeronfoot 2 years ago 6
@archeronfoot Apparently graffitti is an age old Roman tradition. Graffitti was common on monuments near to election times for the senate or tribunate even though prescribed by law

I think the old man sounds more like them.

Now, follow up with something equally childish, though I doubt you can surpass the level of stupidity achieved in your last post, though, in the depths of your ignorance, I suppose anything is possible.

dear yourdanis.. I speak Napolitan because I am Neapolitan and I live in Naples .. in Italy there are many dialects, but Napolitan it's known throughout the world, and I'm proud for that .. Links? there are some, but the translation is not understandable, as the dialect has various forms to compose a sentence ..

Furio cant be from Naples. The Neapolitan men have the best style and always wear tasteful but vibrant colors.
Furio dresses like he's from Le Marche.
