Paul, you showed such courage in making this video. It's not easy to show your PD frailties to the world when all you want to do is hide them away! I can see why your video won so many awards - it's wonderful! I am so impressed by you and your daily dealing with the awful hand PD has dealt you. I'm with you - I want a cure now. You have so much character and never give up. I'm proud to know you. Donna Miller
Paul's story is moving. May he continue to battle PD with the bravery that this film depicts. And, may the optimistic young doctors who have posted here previously be right.
@Andr3as46Falaf3L unfortunately yes, it is a PROGRESSIVE disease meaning it gets worse as time progresses, however , the rate in which it becomes worse is varying between individuals
Paul, You are an inspiration to us all who live daily with PD. Your courage and determination cannot be measured and my heart goes out to you my friend. Congrats on PBS syndication. It is because of you that I too had DBS surgery in 2007. I am so happy to call you friend.
My heart belongs to you. My prayers go up for you. DBS never seems to work for long, and I am so sorry. I am right there with you dude. Keep on telling the world! The end of your video really got me. I feel the same way. <3 Sami
Thanks so much for putting a face on a terrible, useless disease, Paul. Trillions to kill; How much to heal? This disease is stealing my mind and my life, too. For what? It's me today, it could be you tomorrow, folks. Neurological diseases such as PD and Alzheimer's, as well as MS, should not exist in the 21st century. Do yourself a favor and Invest in the future NOW. Support research for a cure. Dare I hope? Dare I lose hope?
Tunisian neurologist, Dr Hichem Jarraya, who is the head of a research team in France, that aims at finding a treatment of Parkinson desease, has declared recently that he and his team have discovered an effective biological cure to Parkinson desease, very different from medical treatments of the desease existant up to now.
I have also heard this memory chip could work for alzheimers, people who have been into drugs and like me who have had his left hippocampus removed. For more info on it Google: popular science the memory hacker.
Right on man! You make those of us who do not have such a condition take a good hard look in the mirror. The image looking back just smacked me! Live HARD my friend.
This is a VERY well-done video! Paul, you are in my prayers; you are very brave to share your story. I'd like to share this you tube video with a class of occupational therapists to whom a colleague and myself are lecturing. I hope that is okay.
i started accepting it a month ago or so, i just don't mind anymore, and they found out he doesn't actually have parkinsons, he has a an all new version of an old disease, so as long as he doesn't care about it, neither will I :)
I am rooting for you Paul. I too, have PD. Young-onset since the age of 19. I am currently bolstering more courage for another DBS. First one failed...You are an inspiration. Thanks so much for the honesty. I have just published a book... I Shaved My Head for This? by Sandy Cline. It is about the dbs. Best of luck to you Paul.
Paul, my heart goes out to you. My mom is in final stages of PD, and it's heartbreaking. Any dis-ease is heartbreaking, but as my mom reminds me: "I never promised you a rose garden." Thank you for sharing your story with us. Thank you for being so human, so perfectly human.
Thank you so much for what you have done for me Deborah, and TEhank you for helping me to reach out to others, using this very true to life video. Excellent trailer video too.
Paul, you are a fighter. I remember at the first PNP in Savannah how you touched everyone with your charm, great sense of humor and your determination.
One day, some how, some where, we will find that cure.
Powerful, touching and heartbreaking. This video sensitively and accurately depicts the limitations and challenges those of us with Parkinson's face on a daily basis. I love the music, particularly Charlie Nimovitz's "New Reality." It's the best video for spreading the awareness and understanding of Parkinson's.

I don't get angry..I'm going through the same thing. But all we can do, is look to God and pray to Him for His grace.
