That's at the Big Park in Baruch Housing, LES, just North of the Williamsburgh Bridge. It was a few years ago, before the City put up new fences and walls.
And the music was composed and recorded in Poland. I knew the composer, Basil Wajdowicz, from New York but he was there at the time. Search him on YouTube and you can hear some outrageous jazz piano.
That is the most truly truth of all time. If somebody has asked me to desribe my biggest dream I would show him this movie. Much love from Polish ball player.
Yeah, I loved the script too. A critic called it "the most lyrical trash talk you've ever heard." You can make a good film from a bad script but it's really hard, eh?
The screenwriter, Steve Mantin, passed away this month. Evidently he adopted this from his play by the same name.
I'm distraught that I hadn't even heard of him until I read his obit - that there was a clever, unique, nuanced writer still living right here in my hometown and I was completely unaware. Give him his praise, as it is due.
this has potential to be a classic movie IF it were a full movie. btw the story is incredible. ive always had a love in my heart for basketball i never have been considered a great player but i keep trying to improve. ive never played recreational so everything ive learned was essentially on my own. anyway awesome video
i play ball all day every day,in the winter i shuvle the court just to get some shots in,sumtimes ill ride my bike like 12 miles from lanesboro to adams just bcuz thers a game goin on and i have never said no to a challenge
Thanks BOOM, pass the word. I had a great time making it and the writer is a life long player on those courts -- who was listening. M Pinson, director

Thank you, mfb, I will be sure that Steve Mantin's children see your comment. He wrote many wonderful pieces and we hope to film another one.

The Big Park is in Baruch Housing, NW of the Williamsburg Bridge & Delancy, W of the FDR. it has changed a bit since we shot there in 2000.
