@oodlesofnoobles 7000 would be fuckin insane...if you have ever had a sled that engaged that high you need new clutch weights because thats fuckin rediculous
i love that sound some people hate it. but thos who like it like it alot i think if you dont like the sound your to old to be running a big boy sled go get a 250 elan hahahaha
Because we ride on public land and it desterbs and anoys the land owners and the general non snowmobiling public. It's the kind of thing that leads to trails getting shut down. But most snowmobilers including myself don't mind them. Tuners/Racers generally don't like them because they rob the engines of power.
There's a difference between what the companys that produce cans say and what the Dyno reports say. And let me tell you something. Numbers don't lie. Cans rob horsepower.
a can produces better flow, therefore more power...its common sense really!! I dont know what kind of numbers you are looking at. my uncle just got his new snopro dyno'd last week and mine is this week... i'll pull the can and see what i come up with. also, you ever been to a radar run? they put sleds with cans in different classes because they will almost always beat the sleds with a stock silencer
ya ill bet you lose horsepower as well. those engines need a decent amount of back pressure. i was gunna buy one for my F7. but they hurt your top end.
@ nelson22: I have been to radar runs(we run every weekend) sleds with cans DO run slower than stock cans.. We tested one day on a 02 ZR 800 CCE.. Bone stock it run 100MPH in 1000ft. that Same day with the(in this case MBRP RACE CAN) it run 90 w/ Same conditions and nothing changed other than exhaust cans.they're in a different class cause they're modified(NOT STOCK) IF you want power get twin pipes, porting, reeds and high compression. My uncles 03 ZL 800 EFI dyno'd 202HP @ 8700rpm w/ twins
@nelsonn22 You have that right buddy. Put a MBRP on my ZR 900. I can't tell you if it is faster top end but it's not slower and it is better out of the hole and much better mid range. It also took a ton of weight off my sled. The stock can was huge and heavy.
yeah looks mint, nice n clean. If you want a real loud one you can either get a sno-stuff or a mbrp. They both sound badass but the sno-stuff is about 150 bucks less than the mbrp so which ever one you think sounds the best.
@derkcheese3 Ya I think I paid $225 or so for a MBRP for my ZR 900. I did get the performance trail version though. It's not quite as loud but has a nice growl to it and performs well. I had the race version on my ZRT and it is LOUD, lol. I sold that sled to a friend and I can hear him getting on it about a mile out in the woods behind my house, lol. Also, nice sled man!
that sounds amazing, I have a 04 f6efi, what rumble pack should I pick up?? just got my sled, want it to sound sick, i have a couple vids if ya wanna check it out, cant wait for snow up here in canada
how about none, it doesnt go any faster LOL, just cuts out your back pressure,=less top end, all you get is noise, spend the 200-300$ on shit thats usefull lol
I'll have to make a vid of my F7 just for comparisson . i have the exact same sled as in this vid only i have the mbrp can , they only make them in standard trail cans at royal for some reason .. but by hearing it , you wouldn't think it's just a plain can , i'll put a vid soon
seen your vid a few times and saw its been 2 months since your last post so i though i'd leave you one. Should of let it warm up first. but sounds good...
did u drill the hole in the metal plate on the belly pan and install the the second hold down spring? if not make sure and get that done, cause if you hit a good sized bump the outlet of the can may come inside the belly pan and melt it because the can is not being properly held in place.
the excessive smoke is because arctic cat has the oil pumps turned up to high from the factory, this is normal with all arctic cats. if you cut the oil pump back by about 10%-15% it will still provide sufficient lubrication*, and greatly reduce smoke and oil consumption.
*HOWEVER- when adjusting your oil pump you take the risk of an engine seizure if leaned out to much. make sure to check you plugs often after tuning. they should be a medium to light brown. if the are gray/white you are to lean
simple.................. the louder the better
