  • no no no..no flag mixed with traditional clothing ....'the hell. It's offensive for so many reasons...

  • i wish i am Winettou.. :)

  • Salaam Aleikoum

  • I still don't see anything wrong with the pics...I took art class in college and frankly if the rest of the Native American population doesn't have a problem with it then why should anyone else? Most consider themselves the first real cowboys of the West and I tend to agree with them. Maybe it's the native in me that's proud no matter what people depict of us. No matter what they do I am proud of my heritage and my ancestors for the fight they put up.

  • @BlondeFavorite That's cool. I like J.D. Challenger's work, and he has the blessing of most Native Americans to paint them. Take a look at the sad warrior at 1:51 wearing the Stars and Stripes with a large red bullseye on his chest. That painting speaks volumes.

  • See Hopi prophecy, Rainbow Warriors.

  • native american still here

BEL HOMMAGE a CES COURAGEUX GUERRIERS. MERCI MERCI

  • This music is a joke. Nothing authentic about it, especially with that snappy beat. Totally out of place and not respectful of the real thing.

  • I am the proud Muslims, American Indians HERE PEOPLE we love and respect because these are the bravest People who are not afraid of nothing and kept the What we NOW Najpotrebnije Tj Mother Nature, air, water, animals,,, THE WORLD GLOBAL

I know that it is still in this world is much Native Americans and honor them every

    Listen

  • just real beautiful

  • Katydidscorner. I love what you've did with this song. The jazzy bassline particularly appeals to me. I don't know if you meant this deliberately, but the sounds the bass makes not only pays tribute in this wonderful Native American homage, but it also has a cheeky statement to European American culture (or lack of), as the oh so popular American jazz movement of the 1920s actually has negro/African roots. Beautiful song :)

  • Beautifull pictures, awesome music, all I can say is that I like the NATIVE AMERICAN culture, I really can't say nothing bad about them, above all they were the ones who conquered these lands first.

  • @polvera30

Agreed, they're good, strong and hardy folk. To think that they made use of the most basic of tools and thrived in such challenging wilderness, all the while making peace with the natural world. A trait that is so rare to find in today's urban-dominated world.

  • we are all proud Yank, native, italy, Scandinave, Germans, engelsmen, france, Christians, Muslims, I can sit all day and just write

  • hahahaha!! :-) what a spectrum of comments here!! ufff! look the point is...despite oppression from the government, and them trying to break the SPIRIT of our ancestors (whoever shares this with me)/NATIVE Americans, they failed, they have taken the land, pushed our ancestors in cages, yet, we are one of the few peoples that NEVER forgot the spirit that drives us...Give guitars, modern times, blues, jazz, dance, whatever, our spirit shines through it all...

  • WHY CANT WE JUST ENJOY THE DAM SONG, WITH OUT INSULTS.KEEP YA OPINONTO YA SELF AND JUST ENJOY IT

  • what a irony....american flag in the indian worrior !!?? americans retards...

  • @pfkshampion I don’t think you understand irony and mockery.

  • @katydidscorner putting the american flag on a native warrior is like handing the soviet communist flag on an american army soldier, they dont match thats like putting water and fire together you just cant do that

  • @jizmacdacusha Exactly! What do you think is the message the artist intended? Look at their faces and tell me where you see pride. They are angry and resolved. They are imprisoned and are forced to wear the American flag, and they hate it.

  • @katydidscorner Exactly, don't get me wrong I am not unpatriotic. But putting a flag on our culture and heritage is wrong. But putting it on us as U.S. citizens is ok to me IMO but putting it on something they have destroyed is unforgiveable but I spoke to much already.

  • @katydidscorner Or maybe, just maybe, it's that the land is now under the flag, and even though they do not like it, they still love the land. I'm Cherokee and I'm pretty sure that I don't hate the US. why don't you hate the Spanish for whipping out the Inka and Aztec?

  • @katydidscorner thats horrible. i feel that hatred. im partly native and know shit about me:( but i can feel that anger :9

  • @jizmacdacusha well technically you can put fire and water together...you just get a chemical reaction that some people wouldn't want....

  • @katydidscorner I don't see anything wrong in them wearing the American flag. They are Americans just as much as the rest of us and should be treated as such. Every nation gets taken over and the natives of that land are forced to learn new ways. Look at us now with the Hispanics coming over the border? We are having to change our traditions to accommodate them. Doesn't mean we have to like it but we do have to learn to at least tolerate it.

  • @BlondeFavorite You need to look at the artist's depiction and think what is wrong with this picture. Then it will come to you. if you examine the titles to J.D. Challenger's paintings, such as "Exiled in the Land of the Free" of 4 Native Americans in full regalia dress standing in front of a huge American flag, then you will understand the point he is making in his art. Art interpretation is in the eye of the beholder, and if you think there's nothing wrong in it, that's fine.

  • @pfkshampion Actually you'll find that Native Americans who have served in the American military are quite proud of their service. An interesting contradiction.

  • @Gwytherinn and most seem to join the marines. Once a culture of warriors always a culture of warriors!

  • beautiful

  • wheres the cry dance this dumb!!!!!!!

  • the music is wonderful the images are just fabulous.Who are the makers. thanks for a great video.

  • sooo sad what happened to our brothers and sisters......

  • @Thebeachgoddess1 I couldnt agree more...

  • @caltexjohn THEN FIND IT. Jesus there is tons of that stuff. Just because you came across this doesnt mean you have to bitch. Thanks and Good bye. Whats the name of this song?

  • @FuckNorthKorea911 yep! yer 100% correct!

  • i own this album i play it all the time on my mp3 player. this song isnt bad. chirapaq is a much better song than this one. but this one is still very good.

  • @Stalinx20 Whats the name to sue to search it on limeWire or on here?

  • kinda like smoke signals.......yea....?

  • This is awesome!!!

  • i have all of his songs on my mp3 player. reencuentros. the one i like most is his "chirapaq"

  • I saw them live on the "Altstadtfest Durlach" in Karlsruhe (germany) - great performance - but it makes me sad, to see such proud people dance for pennies...thats not the determination of this nation. Shame to ...

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have captured the great sprit. You channel is great . Bless you, and may the sweet breez, and blessed sprit be with you always

  • where can i buy this verson of the song i looked every where i cant find it

  • If you don't like it, don't watch it or hear it. Back off haterz. Sheesh. Chill.

  • there is reason we dont move foward, because even if we did, white man wouldnt listen to our music, that an this is the music of our ancestors and we like the way we live, if nobody else does, tough titty, we dont change just for people to like us

  • There are PLENTY of people willing to hear and take in the NA culture. It has already been used to influence a few big games and movies.... saying the "white man" doesn't want it is just ignorantly closed minded.

Most people don't even think about NA's...it's a non issue... people don't hate or like it (which means they are open to being exposed to it without resistance).

Any excuse to not move foward is pointless. ALL cultures advance with the times...or they die.

  • Good points.

I am as white as the driven snow, yet I love NA culture and ideals.

  • beautiful,,we are america blessings be susanwhitestar

  • Where the hell can I find just chanting? I hate this bassline did they have bass guitars in the Americas back then? I don't think so.

  • Well, there's plenty of it...just not on my channel. Try searching for Indian chant voice and drums or check out the powwow videos.

  • That's the word I'm looking for, Pow Wow. That's the good stuff. Thanks

  • /agree this is cheesed out

  • This isn't "back then"... native americans are STILL AROUND. There is no reason they can't move forward with the rest of the world. Modernizing their music so it can be digested by a modern audience is perfectly fine (and increases the amount their culture influences the future, instead of just being a relic from the past to be looked at now and then).

  • @Lorikwatch I agree. I listen to both the "more traditional" music and modern stuff too. I am moved by both. The beautiful and most important thing about music is that it can transport you and convey meaning. How it is done does not matter, just as long as it conveys what it is meant to convey. Long live all tribes and peoples. I hope we Americans as a nation will one day realize the treasure of your cultures and adopt more of your practices to live one with the Earth. :)

  • @MrChadillac420

I don't think Native American culture was stagnating either. Just like all thriving cultures it advanced and changed, assimilated and blockaded. The fact that it is still a living culture is shown strongly in the use of modern instruments.

Unlike many "tribal" areas in the world, the Natives of America were what we would consider a "civilized society" and civilized society doesn't dwell on history for too long.

  • @MrChadillac420

Nothing wrong with a bit of modernity.

  • @ are you indian if not dont listing to it.As for me I am blackfoot I think it is good. You just have to list.Littleeagle

  • Anyone know how I can get ahold of Reencuentros? I demo Comanche Riding using a saddle given to me by a Comanche friend from Texas here in Austria. I would like to use this music to develop a demo for Comanche riding.

  • Some of the paintings give me a "disturbing" feeling inside

  • JD Challenger paints the story of a people rich in heritage and traditions; stories sometimes poignant, often angry... but always powerful and demanding to be told. Each portrait speaks its own truth. Challenger is the vessel that paints that truth.

A fiercely proud people that was forced to wrap themselves in the red, white, and blue American flag is the disturbing truth.

  • Absolutely brilliant!

Today & every day 18 American soldiers committed suicide:

Bravely they cover themselves in the American flag - Later to discover their Government does not love them, (only themselves)

What unfair tragedies happened to the native Americans now happens by the same evil Government to the later immigrants

    The Government now devours all!

  • @katydidscorner i guess out of all the flags around it was the best flags they could have been forced to wrap themselves in..

  • The artist in this is AWSOME!!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. The song is beautiful. I never realized how sad the Cry Dance was. I go to pow wow's all the time with my family. They are amazing <3

  • This is such an amazing video. The images are so beautifully vibrant and the music makes my heart soar. Your videos are such a beautiful testament to Native Americans. Peace and Love to you!

  • Exellent video, awesome music. There are some Nations in the North, South and East that pass down the stories of their ancestors. To find stories that come from our pass that are not heart wrenching is not easy and that is the main reason the youth chose to not participate. They carry enough anger and we have to pick and choose what we teach to them that will give them courage and pride and not instill more anger. Learning to speak their native language is very high on the list of learning pride

  • Reencounters...kinda like the awakening of the past to the Native American people today. Old ways still held in the memories of some to awakened when needed. It is the youth today in the clans and houses that must desire to be taught the skills to memorize the past and to survive. i know this happens in the northwest, i am sure it happens in the southwest...if anyone can answer for the south, north, and east it would be greatly appreciated. with all my respect and love. thank you for sharing.

  • A totally beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.

    Peace
