  • rock city bro

  • I was lucky enough to study from Javier last year. He is an amazing YOUNG conguero, who plays a wide variety of percussion instruments. I really believe he is one of the premiere percussionists of my generation.

  • If you gays want to see what could be done with one conga go to my video,(as Dr. Zaragemca),and also see my Mozambique variaion).Dr. Zaragemca

  • Oye Javier !

This is beautiful man !! My name is Pete and I studied with Angel in PAWS in L.A. for 4 years (never got beyond the intermediate level). I now live in Ithaca, NY where I teach engineering at Cornell. We're starting a small afrocuban percussion community here (none of us are really good) and we hope that once we get things rolling, we can hopefully convince you to come up here for a workshop some day.

    A CHE !

    Pete

  • hey,compay.Congratulations.You're the best

  • I love the melody and harmony of his playing!

  • the man isn real good, but the 3 congas not surprises. he could try again, whit some other instruments, like an bongo or a talking drum

  • sorry, is just my opnion. i didnt want to offend anyone. A constructive opnion. A real music player need some bad critics too. The guy play really good, i know. but (in my opnion) the 3 kongas don't surprise.

  • the kongas dont surprise? i guess some retard with 4 kongas instead of 3 would be more surprising? you are not an intelligent person.

  • ok.. im fucking sorry. its my opnion, you don´t need to agree, and really no need to be so rude. I live in Brazil, where everyone already saw someone playing tree kongas. But i understand that someone who don´t live here (or in other country that have a strong percussion culture) to be suprised.

    Bixa Louca.

  • ok, i guess that was a little harsh. i didnt realize you were from brazil (language barrier). i thought you were an ignorant 12 year old american trying to marginalize the instrument by calling them unsurprising. i apologize. it would be more entertaining for any percussionist to have 3 drums instead of 2, 4 instead of 3, etc. but what matters is diaz is great and he's just using 3 kongas to demonstrate some of his technique for a video, not to entertain a crowd.

  • in that last point we both agree. He's really good.

  • "gulictba" writes: "try again, with more instruments"

Sorry but.. You are wrong, If he chooses to play just 1 drum, more power to him, a real good timbero can make I drum sound like 2 or 3. Study the work of Tommy Lopez and Papo Pepin before you make such a comment.

    Unite dont Divide...

  • ok, i'm sorry. i really didn't mean that.

  • No hay nada nuevo aqui ---

  • kyabatae!!

  • The real deal

  • fantastic feel and groove and technique!

  • Great clip!! Tremendo Talento!
