the 3000 series is said to be playable outdoors so the quality of everything is up i doubt the battery life is any better though

Its gonna be better. Its still LCD, but is has LED brighteners behind it. Plus, it has genuine Sony gloss, and the "hi-def" Colour Space setting in the 3000 is improved for the Go.

Yeah, lol. The 3000 has hi-def gloosy screen, enhanced brightness, lighter and smaller, and new fresh look. The hi-def system can be turned on and off, it basically makes the colours more vivid and rich. The metal "skeleton" that was in the 1- and 2000 editions is now gone to lose some weight. Also, the battery has been lightened, reducing its charge capacity, but also loseing some extra weight. The internal systems are made with lighter metals, and the disc laser smaller.

aren't psp 3000's supposed to have really bad scan lines. Better off getting a 2000 or even 100X. Easier to mod, unless your gonna just play it for games. (Forgot to say, PSP 3000 is not able to be modded yet.)

I'd just buy a slim and lite if I were you. The PSP-3000 gets these ugly lines on the screen when the graphics get too bright or change too drastically and Sony has no plans of fixing that issue. I might not be a big issue to you but I certainly wouldn't get it because of that very issue.

the cool thing about the psp 3000 is that if your in the sun the screen is enhanced so it looks better and it comes with a mic which is less money for the head sets

many people think that sony will release a new PSP which they block the feature to have custom firmware on it. THIS IS WRONG!!! U CAN HAVE CUSTOM FIRMWARE ON IT! :D and thats why im getting it. its the new and ultimate PSP. I dont have a PSP this will be my first PSP. I love and its not even released but i still love it. Its the best PSP`s of them all. After this model there will be, PSP2. A much better handheld console, but expect it in 4 years. This 1 wll dominate until then

i dont think so... i read about it, its got a motherboard that prevents it from being downgraded, also they havn't managed to "pandorize" it yet. They realeased a battery "blue" but it didnt work. Be careful on getting the 3000
