Okay I'm going to get flamed for this. I love Iggy and I love this song. But is it just me that thinks that the dead guy on the tambourine is ruining the fantasy of eternal youth?
The Ultimate All Time best ever Punk Rock Anthem of all time, and maybe the best ever hard rock song. 1973 and it never got better than this. How lucky we all were to be alive,to be born in the rock and roll era which was 1955 to now and forever.
I like the sound of the guitar. Most live versions of this song don't capture James Williamson's fantastically heavy guitar tone. But Ron Asheton gets it right here.

@Felcreth Iggy sounds OK, BUT I saw him do this song when he was 26 years old, and it just isn't the same hearing a guy in his 60's sing it. Since I am in my 50's, not some kid, I can honestly say that I have no interest in seeing old rockers singing young men's music, I know that people disagree with me, and will happily go see, say, old & fat Johnny Rotten sing Anarchy in the UK, or Iggy do Search &Destroy @63, but I don't consider that really seeing "The Sex Pistols," or "The Stooges", etc.
@helenkrump ya i know what you mean sort of, but i have to admit a few bands still sound amazing even in their 50's.....im only 15 and i saw acdc and they still sound great
Later that night all the equipment (except for my sax) got stolen from the Uhaul,
Russian Mob usual suspects in that otherwise beautiful town, especially Ronnie's Flying V and Watts trusty old Gibson, this is the last known video of those instruments...
Weird. Iggy _wants_ to go for it, but just doesn't have it in him. Watt actually has the most energy of anyone on-stage, but that's no real surprise. Dude has the very spirit of punk rock coursing through his veins.
Yes, the one and the same, Whisky a go go on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. In the Doors movie, the Whisky is where the Doors get kicked-out after performing "The End' (Father, yes son, I want to kill you, Mother, I want to ...). On a related note, Iggy was heavily influenced by Jim Morrison, and Morrison's interaction and effect on the crowd, after seeing a Doors concert in Detroit.

I first saw the Stooges in 1973 (Raw Power tour) at the Whisky in Hollywood. This was before punk. Iggy was a complete wildman - the essence of Rock n Roll - the sense of danger and completely unpredictable, like something anything could happen at anynminute that would just start a riot, complete anarchy! He was the first to stage dive. A galss broke on stage and he dove right onto the shards - completely bloody. He dove into the audience, poured hot wax from candles that were the tables.
I saw the Stooges in 2006, and it was a great show. I wish I'd seen them more. Asheton is gone now. They're touring Raw Power with WIlliamson. I want to see it. Dont care if he's 60. better than dead. He could put a shirt on, but what the hell...
