  • is that with Ron Asheton? looks like him, lucky to see that show RIP ron

  • Awesome!!!

  • needs more cow bell!

  • Iggy's chest is a lot like Chuck Norris. Shirts fear Iggy Pop and are instantly repelled.

  • a god full of coffee and cigs...one love ig...

  • its james williamson......this is the band he is found hiding under a towel "to hide from the doom energy" ....in Iggys book...I saw the in Toronto..Raw power riffs note 4 note perfect reverberating through the streets of glass and steel

  • Lol old man.

  • tambourine guy is awesome!!

  • @MrHauerManuel kind of like Cow-bell. ha ...that dude plays the sax too. Rock on -- Rocker !!

  • @MrHauerManuel lmao @ the tambourine dude!

  • he's got tits

  • Okay I'm going to get flamed for this. I love Iggy and I love this song. But is it just me that thinks that the dead guy on the tambourine is ruining the fantasy of eternal youth?

  • @klausflouride

    Yes it's just you, cause Steve Mckay is awesome. Cheers :)

  • @adamsmith13real

    lol, fair enough

  • Tony Hawks American Wasteland... good old days :,(

  • really good performance... iggys voice was pretty tight that night!!

  • great to see Ron playin it on the guitar.

  • for the ages

  • DEFEND THE OBJETIVS!

  • This song makes me want to start breaking all the rules lol

  • Happy birthday forgotten boy!

  • What a pisser

  • Don't worry Oggy: once you're Enlightened you will no more desire to destroy. - Paragura Brahmashiva Toodlepip Colliwobbel.

  • WATER BOY!!!

  • Emanuel's cover of Search & Destroy sounds a way better i find :)

  • /watch?v=p8M0QRaNKo8

  • ROADIE! WATER! NOW!

  • The Time was stopped for the Iguana, really Amazing, fantastic !

  • Saw Iggy with Williamson and co at the Whiskey in the early 70's....one of thee great shows and I've seen a few.....

  • i only watch this because of the awesome RHCP cover of this song!

  • The Ultimate All Time best ever Punk Rock Anthem of all time,and maybe the best ever hard rock song. 1973 and it never got better than this.How lucky we all were to be alive,to be born in the rock and roll era which was 1955 to now and forever.

  • it's wonderful ^_^

  • "Search & Destroy" defend the objective

  • needs more tambourine

  • I'd be happy playing tambourine for the stooges!!!!

  • the biz eh drew...remember

  • Does Iggy even own a shirt?

  • @hectevon I think I saw a picture of him with one on somewhere... I think it was photoshopped, though. LOL

  • What the fuck, when did Ron ever play any James Williamson guitar parts?

  • @BillGotBanned the last few shows before he died,luckily I saw one in nyc.

  • @BillGotBanned He didn't. Ron created the guitar parts and played this song originally.

  • VINTAGE!!!@!!!!!!

  • I like the sound of the guitar. Most live versions of this song don't capture James Williamson's fantastically heavy guitar tone. But Ron Asheton gets it right here.

  • @rollo131 uh....Ron Asheton created these guitar parts and played them originally. HE is the one who gives this song its heavy guitar tone. James Williamson was a second guitarist added later who was not a part of the debut album which featured this song.

  • @jimdevo this was not on the debut album learn what you are talking about. Williamson wrote this song. Asheton played bass and had back up vocals on this album not one guitar part.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Dammit you are rite, I have been schooled. Debut was 1969 called "the stooges" but dont believe Williamson entered the scene until their second album "funhouse". This song was on their 3rd called "raw power" from 1973. I believe I now know what I am talking about.

  • @jimdevo Williamson Was not a part of the band during funhouse.

  • @joelthefirst So he did not enter the scene until Raw Power?

  • They're all so old, but still awesome.

  • @Felcreth Iggy sounds OK, BUT I saw him do this song when he was 26 years old, and it just isn't the same hearing a guy in his 60's sing it. Since I am in my 50's, not some kid, I can honestly say that I have no interest in seeing old rockers singing young men's music, I know that people disagree with me, and will happily go see, say, old & fat Johnny Rotten sing Anarchy in the UK, or Iggy do Search &Destroy @63, but I don't consider that really seeing "The Sex Pistols," or "The Stooges", etc.

  • @helenkrump ya i know what you mean sort of, but i have to admit a few bands still sound amazing even in their 50's.....im only 15 and i saw acdc and they still sound great

  • @helenkrump yeah it just doesnt seem right seeing old guys do angry young man rock music.

  • @helenkrump please... they made this music!, the age doesn't matter, u just have to feel it inside, isn't just music, is a way of life...

  • Haven't seen more ass kicked on stage since I saw the Stooges live in 2008 !

  • Wow. Amazing how everyone knows every word. When this record came out nobody wanted it.

  • love it.

  • does iggy pop own a shirt

  • @queens2philly15 one but it got lost at the cleaner

  • @queens2philly15 nope and no underwear either

  • @queens2philly15 Permanently shirless. probably allergic to cotton and polyester

  • @queens2philly15 Nope. He owns one vest.

  • Fucking Jim Williamson is a great human being.

    Sorry to people with kids out there about the bad words. But they have to know how good this shit is.

  • @112smosquito Ron was the real guitar hero and legend of this band. Truly a pioneer and punk god.

  • Later that night all the equipment (except for my sax) got stolen from the Uhaul,

    Russian Mob usual suspects in that otherwise beautiful town, especially Ronnie's Flying V and Watts trusty old Gibson, this is the last known video of those instruments...

    Steve Mackay, Stooges

  • Weird. Iggy _wants_ to go for it, but just doesn't have it in him. Watt actually has the most energy of anyone on-stage, but that's no real surprise. Dude has the very spirit of punk rock coursing through his veins.

  • Yes, the one and the same, Whisky a go go on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. In the Doors movie, the Whisky is where the Doors get kicked-out after performing "The End' (Father, yes son, I want to kill you, Mother, I want to ...). On a related note, Iggy was heavily influenced by Jim Morrison, and Morrison's interaction and effect on the crowd, after seeing a Doors concert in Detroit.

  • I first saw the Stooges in 1973 (Raw Power tour) at the Whisky in Hollywood. This was before punk. Iggy was a complete wildman - the essence of Rock n Roll - the sense of danger and completely unpredictable, like something anything could happen at anynminute that would just start a riot, complete anarchy! He was the first to stage dive. A galss broke on stage and he dove right onto the shards - completely bloody. He dove into the audience, poured hot wax from candles that were the tables.

  • @Roqvet

    Is that Whiskey a GoGo, like where this guy takes a nasty dive in the Doors movie?

  • I saw the Stooges in 2006, and it was a great show. I wish I'd seen them more. Asheton is gone now. They're touring Raw Power with WIlliamson. I want to see it. Dont care if he's 60. better than dead. He could put a shirt on, but what the hell...

  • Age is a terrible thing...

  • Age is a wonderful thing! Iggy is the best oap on the planet - apart from Keith Richards.

  • @shitheap123 I agree. Getting older (54 @ this point) really bites. EVERYTHING hurts.

  • damn mike watt looks good!

  • Their first album is my favourite, I like the whole basic approach. It's more fitting.

  • @grubang >> Are you crazy man ? Raw power is shit ? Raw power is one of the most violent album ever, the iggy's scene playing is totaly amazing, and to KangLeRoy i'm ok to say that it was a bit stupid to get out Ron to the band. But Iggy is so a talented musician, we can forgive him.

  • @thenamefrancisco >> you mean the best album ever :)

  • raw power is their best album

  • @thenamesfrancisco no funhouse

  • Fucking epic

  • iggy is so great my dog was named after him but especially cuz of his song im living on dog food

  • iggy is the coolest frontman ever

  • R.I.P. Ron Asheton

  • @:grubang

    Overated???!! Ron didn't play???!!

    Dumbass.

    Ron played bass on that album. And if you don't like raw power it's your loss.

  • @flipperguy i know he plays bass on that album, my comment said he didn't play guitar

  • dissapointing live version. Where are the drum counter-beats and hits??

  • Only five months

  • It's really a bitch what Iggy did to the Ashetons, BUT if you really know the Stooges and discredit James Williamson, you are a dumbass beyond compare. Be glad Ron got to do this. Everyone knows it was his band. What a stupid comment.

  • @KangLeRoy fuck off raw power was shit compared to their first album and funhouse

  • Plus he's 85 years old.

  • man this performance was awesome... i wish i was there that day =/ ... iggy looks good !! im gonna be upset when they eliminate this video from youtube

  • ich finde das lied übertrieben pervers !

  • Love you Iggy - he is hot and still young - great song

  • RIP Ron Asheton

  • What do u critical f*uck ups know anywayu were prolly born yesterday, ur prolly fatter that Iggy will ever be and he has not touched drugs for years you losers. What the f*ck have you done???

  • ur fat fcking fag

  • thats how hes always sounded

  • fucking love this band!

  • lol iggy is the man .. after all these years i bet he can sing this song better than other singers who try to sing like him.. long live iggy pop

  • This song is fucking amazing! It was so heavy by that time, and i think still it is!!

  • Iggy fucking Pop 4-life!

  • YAY!!!

  • Sheer exhilarating energy !

    One of the best Rock songs of all time, hands down.

  • brilliant rock song, so pure!

  • better than any band playing today. period.

  • @ruderocker

    I agree.

  • @ruderocker Not better than The Stooges w/ James Williamson, or you think that Ron is better at the guitar on the Raw Power stuff than James? Doh

  • Unrelentless hardassness. A fine example for us all.

  • Fuck off with that too high in the mix tambourine, man.

    ~~~«d~_×b»~~~
    Take an Iron barrel next time,it'll suit
    this track better.
  • IGGY de leyendas
  • goooood version ... good vocal
  • RIP ron asheton :(
  • Fuck yes.... Iggy Pop and Mike Watt playing on the same stage... TOGETHER!
  • ROCK ROCK ROCK
  • Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!! AWSOME
  • Unfair - in Finland the Stooges reunion didn't play any Raw Power songs. I thought (just thought, not read) it was some sort of contract issue for Ron Asheton not having to play James Williamson era songs.
  • I will love Iggy forever.... omg. He just gets better!!! Check out his new vid- King of the dogs- it is sooooooo cute!!!!!
    love ya Ig. thanks for all the amazing shows since I was 15 (now 45) and sweaty hugs!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo.
  • FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! we were kids and we still are FUCK YOU!
  • sorry didn't mean to call Iggy old. the word "old" doesn't exist for anyone born in our time. we will rock forever!
  • iggy is the man. he should get more fucked up in his old age. he does a great show. he knows. RIP Ron , i saw that cat playin and he gave it his all.
  • Great rare video! Thanks!!
  • he's wierd
  • Sid's version (l)
  • iggy is the fucking man
  • très excellent ce morceau musical !!
  • don't get me wrong when i heard the stooges do the entire first album especially Anne, my Anne...you can 't buy that. many posts for this man..in light of the sorrowful world of popular music. The forgotten boy searching to destroy!
  • if you don't like iggy or the stooges your a fool and shouldn't be here. so go waste your time. for the fans....the last stooges album '73 we know...crank it as loud as you can...as good as spiders from mars album as seminal... this is hardcore, is it not? fuck all forever muther fuckahhh I got a right!
  • this is just a stage song now. Read Legs McNeil book then you get the blood & guts about the Stooges. this song back then would have been treason if it made the top 40. Fuck all forever!
  • this is interesting because i don't remember this reunion playing anthing from the "Iggy & the Stooges" album. I don't think that's water in that bottle. problaby is, but i like to think it's pure vodka the way he spits it out. Rock on, forgotten boy !
  • Still better than current radio "rock"
  • Ron Asheton is playing some mean guitar !!! Without Ron or James Williamson on guitar would be like seeing Steppenwolf !
  • LMFAO!!!!! i love how iggy just puts his hand up and then the roadie just brings him water :P
  • I seen the singer in the commercials, he's got the big belly look
  • Good work camera one!
  • this is the gig where the band had there gear ripped off,what's with the tamborine???? see ya in the next world Ronnie boy
  • Ron's death is the end of the stooges. can't be replaced. Iggy will always be the true Godfather of Punk. can't believe they didnt make it into the hall of fame. shame on cleveland.
  • We'll miss Ron.
    R.I.P. dude
  • great song, great band, i will miss ya ron asheton
  • RIP Ron :(
  • Long live Ron Ashton!
  • great video... thanks for posting...
  • to bad they couldn't James Williamson in there...wow that would be great.
  • I`ve been to the show on 09/16/08 in Bochum/germany and I gotta say: IGGY rocks still today more than any other band I've seen.
    I was just pissed off they did not play 'raw power' nor 'passenger'...does anybody know why??? ...anyway..I bought a t-shirt,though:-D
  • Well...
    Passenger is not a Stooges song. Its from Iggy's solo album called Lust For Life. And Raw Power is also (kinda)not a Stooges song. Its from the album Raw Power which is made with a different lineup(Iggy and the Stooges, James Williamson on guitar and Ron Asheton on bass) than this, so they didn't play stuff from that album on reunion shows except this year they played Search and Destroy(and I Got a Right which is not on RP but its made with that lineup).
  • Wow.
    I didn't even remember he had kept the stand for Search and Destroy XD
    Anyway... that show was so great, and at the end no one believed it was actually over.
  • on twfps watts radio show, scott ashton said that ron diddnt want to play any raw power songs
  • Quality is shit?! Why? Cause it's black and white?!
    The sound is great, and unlike most videos the camera stays in one place. You know how hard it is to stay still in the pit?!
    This vid is great.
  • I agree, that other dude is retarded. Nicely shot with good sound. I don't know what he's complaining about.
  • magnificent. stately. dignified even.
  • his voice is insane "20 years ago in the studio" its hard to watch
  • Their truck with all of their equipment got stolen after this show. Goodbye to some of that vintage equipment, including the bass Mike Watt has had for decades.
