I became a fan of the band just a little over a month before he died and the band fell apart, but this song and I was Buried at Mount Plesant Cemetary are masterpieces in Black Metal. Im glad I liked them while they were still around, my only regret is not meeting this guy when he was still alive

It wasn't until yesterday that I found out about Woods of Ypres, and to be honest, I didn't like it that much at first. But then I started to really listen to David's voice and his beautiful lyrics. He knows what's going on, and he knows what to say. I am an emotional person, I know that. But there are tears in my eyes right now.

David made an amazing impact on my life in just one day.

I wish the family and relatives all the best. David's music will forever be with us.

I didn't know about David's death until I received my copy of Decibel magazine today, but I was at once shocked, saddened, and sickened. I mean, physically sickened...I'm not ashamed to say I actually cried.

I have never met David, but I corresponded with him. When "Pursuit" was reviewed by Metal Maniacs, I emailed him asking how I could get a copy. He sent me a free copy, and I was hooked. I bought all WoY albums since, including "5." David was one of the genuinely nice guys. RIP, David.

My best friend introduced me to them a couple years ago with the song "I Was Buried" (beautiful song) ive loved them ever since. we used to drink and feel thier music. they speak to me in ways that cant be put into words. when i found out about Davids passing, needless to say i was shocked and saddened. we dont know each other but through his music i feel we do. Hours later, an officer was at my door telling me my son had been killed in an accident on a highway near Barrie..." David and his brother and two sisters were planning to Sky Dive on New years Day. I am sad to say only three of my four children went Sky diving ....thank you for loving my son and appreciating his music. I miss my son...
