Whether I'm in my suit, with a child, no difference, cab drivers, of all colors would zip by me and pick up a white person. It's stinks and is truly dehumanizing. Also, I've had cab drivers of many colors not pick me up and/or pick me up and be rude and nasty to me because of my color. I had one Indian guy drive up close, look, and speed away when he discovered I was black - my hand still on the cab door. I've stood trying to hail a cab many times, only to have to ask a white person to get one for me. I've had white people take my cabs when I was clearly there first.

Every time I turn on PBS I see more documentaries about african american history than Natives, Asians, or others. Every other month is an African American day. Abe tried his damndest to appease the southerners cause he wanted to keep the union together. The southerners knew that without slavery, they were "fucked" so they gambled on war and lost. In 1877, RB Hayes sold the blacks out (ended reconstruction) which brought in Jim Crow (more affirmative action for whites) till 1960s. Slavery built America but it was never good for black people. Blacks leave crowded urban centers in search of a more sedate, comfortable standard of living (more space, better schools etc.). When people are oppressed (denied jobs, education etc.)they do become desparate and are more apt to get involved with criminal activity. When the oppression lifts, the criminal behavior stops. Blacks don't get preference; whites have been on affirmative action for 400 years. Jesus is black.

Blacks were stolen from Africa which is why Africa is in a rough state, to put it simply. Europeans were enslaved also but it was a system of indentured servitude where you were let go after an amount of time with money. That was the same system used African against African. That changed with the Atlantic Slave Trade (Dutch, Jews in Holland). Blacks freed themselves.

Your argument is weak because it lacks perspective. These states (colonies) did not become rich overnight. Slavery was central to the southern and northern economies as I already explained. All the commodities, cotton, rice, tobacco, indigo etc. Industries - banking, shipping can be tied directly to those slaves. Last point, I'd argument that the start and early development (1607-1865) was more important than the later development (1865-present)

He's wrong cause his taxi example misses the whole point. The fact that black people and white have been traveling parellel roads, not the same road, since 1607, went totally over his head. He didn't notice that. Black people have always been in a war. In War (life/death struggle), everything's affected, not just one's ability to hail a taxi. The man is senile.

The money earned from the cotton, tobacco, rice etc. enriched southern states and seeded all industry in south. Slaves were used in all the construction projects. Northern states were enriched via the shipping industry - major. The banking system (credit, seed capital)based on value of those slaves. Slaves built the capitol. Personally, everything I ever done has been a credit to USA, including educating you.

Spot on. Taxi driving is one of the most dangerous jobs you can do in everyday life, no ordinary citizen in a car would stop & pick up anyone in the street who looked dangerous, they'd put their foot on the accelerator & go past them. How many of us have been scared stiff when stopped at a red light with gangs lurking nearby? We lock all the doors in panic, so why should we expect taxi drivers to stop & open them?

Comedians have an intresting way of seeing things outside of the box. Its within their nature to do so. Jakie being on this planet as long as he has, has granted him wisdom and practical life experience. Hes one of the few people on here who arent full of shit(mostly).
