  • I'm from Canada, I know all about cold weather :P

Hmmm lets see, some food that I enjoy on cold days would be beef stew, or maybe seafood chowder and a hot cup of coffee afterwards.

  • ramyun is great for rainy day. after you get really soaked from the falling rain you run into house and dry yourself and at the same time you cook ramyun, and have them once its cooked, umm its my favorite

  • Comfort food for the cold? Mashed potatoes and gravy.

  • you are right...I am in the mood for Mashed potatoes and gravy when the weather is cold, but also I love Odeng or takoyaki(japanese) actually Odeng with the broth is really cool.

  • I love hot chocolate!!! Mmmm...

I need to try the rice mixed with the ramyun. I'm eating ramyun now btw ...!

  • lol i love ramyun too! its soo awesome (especially in cold, cold, winter days) :) i can never forget that taste

  • mmmmmmmmmmm

  • theres so many things i love on cold days... soon doo boo, kimche cheegae, ramyun, vietnamese noodles, beebeembab, bulgogi, galbi, ect ect. I think I even enjoy cold foods on cold days hahaa

  • hey! im korean! lol i see a lot of americans in korea lolz

  • ;-)

  • I like a thick chili or hot and sour soup when it's cold :)

  • That sounds wonderful!

  • You know what you need. A beard.

For comfort food, Marconi and cheese with cut up hot dogs in it.

  • LOL

  • cigarettes

  • lol

  • put a coat on, you nut!!!

i love ramen noodles and my mom's homemade chili, and any homemade soup. i will make soup out of any left overs haha i'm a pro. my city in ontario gets so cold in the winter that i nearly live off soup haha

  • That's some great stuff. I love chili and soup and think I really need to sit down and make some chili soon!

  • One of my favourite cold day foods is: Tomato soup, add milk instead of water, simmer with fresh vegetables and whatever leftover cooked (and sliced) meat I have around. Pour over fresh made sticky rice or bazmati rice and enjoy ^_^ Warm, yummy and nutritious.

  • That sounds like heaven.

  • i would love to go to korea for the site seeing plus im a big fan of korean music

  • It's a great place to live and work.

  • Win for sure!!!

  • hot sweet potato mixed with cream butter and sugar and a lil vanilla and a bit of rum, mashed up mmmmmmmm

  • That does sound wonderful!

  • i am definitely gonna go with chicken noodle soup. i love chicken noodle soup on a cold day. either that or a nice stew.

  • Awesome!

  • Wow below freezing! PS Awesome quality on the camera is it the new one? I don't know about fav winter food BUT I am looking forward to friends getting together at lunch tomorrow for Korean BBQ tomorrow. Fantastic Food!

  • Fantastic! Yup. The new camera rocks!

  • Great warm day? :( Last time i checked the temperature it said -21, yuck! And tomorrow the weather forecast predicted -26!

This is in celcius. :) I live in northen Sweden, above the artic circle!

  • ;-) Love those temps!

  • New camera looks awesome, cocoa is what I've been gulping down for the past couple of days, a few mugs a day, I hope that's not bad to have that much. =D

  • LOL - I've been having more and more tea and coffee!

  • PHO! As for American cuisine, clam chowder.

  • Clam Chowder sounds good or perhaps Crab Chowder, I think I'm getting seafood tonight. >=D

  • ;-)

  • I miss a good clam chowder!

  • man i keep for getting you are from arizona.

i am in mesa and the best thing is filabertos i love mexican food :P

  • The Filibertos Steak and Egg Burro with Pico de Gallo!

  • My favorite comfort food changes however...about 2 times week I make a Ramyeon noodle dish but...I start with about 300ml of water, add the seasonings(I like the hot shrimp flavor), add more than a few dashes of sesame oil, bring to a boil, drop 2 eggs into it, turn the heat down to simmer for 2 minutes, turn the heat off and add the noodles from the package, cover for 3-4 minutes without the heat on, pour it into a bowl and eat. It is indeed too good!

  • That sounds fantastic!

  • That DOES look chilly!

    Ramen is good stuff indeed.

As for the temps, I have nothing to complain about here. But to answer your question... cheese.

  • oooooooo What kind of cheese?

  • Provologne!

    8-)

  • Excellent quality :)

  • Thanks!

  • Chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, and a warm cookie for dessert. :)

Cool that you're using the new camera. Can't wait to see what else you'll film.

  • I'd love make some chicken soup.

  • The camera and the lense work awesome!!!

    NOT Jealous At ALL! :P

  • :-P

    Thanks!

  • r u using the new camera? its crystal clear!!

    stay warm!

  • Yeah, this is the new cam!

  • On a cold winter day you can't beat a good old roast dinner, either chicken, beef with all the trimmings , too original I know lol

  • Great idea. I'll have to get something to roast in the oven.

  • Well, weatherman qiranger. lol. Iwould have to say either a bowl of chili or pea soup. Or, come to think of it, anything in the fridge. lol.

  • lol

  • Being from Gloucester Ma. without hesitation it would have to be New England clam (or fish) chowder.

Excellent clearity in your shoot with just a little vibration. Does it have image stablization? Namaste...

  • It does... but when you shake you're whole body... nothing can cope with that!

  • beautiful vid -

  • Thanks Bryan!

  • i would like to try dokboke i probally spelled that wrong but meh my comfort food is Macaroni and Cheese mmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Yeah, I've been looking forward to having some of that this winter.

  • Either baked potato soup or cinnamon apple oatmeal with hot tea.

  • I'd really love some oatmeal. I have such a hard time discussing and describing that to my kids here.

  • festive comfort food has to be mince pies! general cold weather comfort food is probably a good cup'a'tea. So British.

  • lol

  • Strangely as a Brit, I would take a hot chocolate over tea any day. Mmmm. Take that, Grey, wet, dull, cold England.

  • Nothing better than mom's home made chili. It's simply just tomato sauce, tomato soup, chili beans, and fried hamburger, with a touch of love. Add a little cheese and some crackers and that really warms you up on a cold day. :)

  • Sounds like a good plan!

  • What's wrong with you .... get a jacket !

  • lol

  • wat about the junk food from the street stands? i'd love to get some fish sausage

  • mmmmmmmm Some sundae sounds good.

  • rlly? i can't eat that

  • today is so cold day...

  • ...and more is on the way.

  • Tempura Udon was what I ate when I visited Korea. Light and easy on the stomach.

  • oooooooooooo

  • Chai with some biscuits

  • sounds good!

  • Hot Chocolate!

  • Wonderful!

  • what a amazing cam. bro! you feel like your there.

Well about food I like to take angus throw it in with some Korean bbq sauce( or teriyaki sauce) in the pan, w/ water chestnuts and or bamboo shoots. And a heaping helping of rice, with kimshi. With a nice cold dark ale!

  • ;-)

thanks I love the camera. Jo did a great job in hunting down a great bargain for me.

  • Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese or to drink hot apple cider w/caramel or hot chocolate.

  • Now that is a great idea.

  • The wife makes a nice thai rice soup that is very warming or her cocunut chicken soup is also good for a cold winter day. :)

  • Awesome!

  • Some Ramyeon sounds great right now, and I don't even know what it is.

My heater doesn't work and it's freezing here(it's only Dallas, but this year is especially cold for some reason), I have 2 more days of finals, and I've been eating cold peanut butter(my apartment is a refrigerator) and pita bread for the last two days because I'm broke.

But when I go home for christmas, I am sure there will be some pot roast waiting!

  • Ramyeon is Korean Ramen. It's great. Nice and spicy!

I know how those Dallas winters can get!

  • Comfort drink is hot tea with lemon these days. Love the new camera and your do have a cheerful new look yourself....thank you for the experience of another country.

  • Jo and I are having a bit of Green Tea right now... I think the extra cheeriness is due to 1) Jo being here and 2) me starting vacation on Saturday.

  • btw...how's that camera treatin ya????? I'm envious!

  • It's treating me very well. Still trying to find the best editing queue for it!

  • korea and arizona brrrr while here in kazakhstan -25C with 12mph winds...however cold days - vodka and some sort of soup

  • mmm liquor.

  • Kimchi Chiggae is awesome during cold weather!

however, smell of ramen makes me want to vomit, ive had bad times with it!

are you using your new camera?

  • Sorry to hear that about my beloved ramyeon.

Yes... this is the new camera.

  • Samyang Ramen. Oh My Good Ness. Either that or Soo Jae Bi! :D :D

  • ;-)

  • Hah. Well anything from the oven so after its done cooking (and I turn it off) I can leave it cracked and get a burst of heat for the front of thr house. And you know it gets chilly up on this mountain lol.

  • I always loved making some great quesadillas up there.

  • I'm with you on the ramyun, but I prefer spicy (e.g. Shin Ramyun, have you tried that one?)

If I don't find any ramyun in the kitchen, I like to make myself a hot spicy Kimchi chiggae with rice.

  • Kimchi Chiggae is awesome! I love the spicy stuff. I'm not sure I've had that brand... but I'll give it a look-see when we go shopping next!

  • Now ya need a windsock :P

  • Or just use the external mic next time ;-)

  • External mic with wind sock :) Something my cam cant do :(

  • Time for a new camera?

  • Japanese "Nabe" なべ物 (hotpot). LOVE IT! best thing on a cold night in Japan....especially with a glass of beer or sake :)

  • Sounds like you should do a Two Beers in Asia with some of that!

  • I LOVE ramen too. For some reason I always bring cup noodles when I go to ski resorts and they taste simply amazing. Much better than old french fries and burritos with rip off prices !!

  • Ramyeon is the best!

  • Huoguo!!! Hotpot! Specifically Sichuancai Huoguo (we have a vid coming up on that soon, should post as a response to this) - basically a hotpot with ingredients and seasonings coming from the Sichuan Province of China (reknowned for being extremely hot and spicy) - a hot dish for sure! Ah great, though it might not be cold where I'm at, my mouth is sure watering now!

Stay warm and eat well my friend =D

    Peace.

  • I can't wait to see wait to see it! Sounds good. You should alod post it over on the blog with a nice, detailed recipe... Not that jo and I wouldn't try to make it... ;-)

  • I'll see what I can do for sure =D

    Peace.
