The 17th-century Christian Puritans viewed the eastern coast of the New World as a promised land, one that they reached by crossing the desert, namely the ocean, while escaping persecution in Europe. Over 200 years later, in the 1830s, a new group emerged whose members believed that their calling in life was to re-establish Zion. These were the Mormons, whose full, formal name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They too needed to endure their own exodus from Egypt.
"Each individual who prayerfully studies the Book of Mormon can also receive a testimony of its divinity. In addition, this book can help with personal problems in a very real way. Do you want to get rid of a bad habit? Do you want to improve relationships in your family? Do you want to increase your spiritual capacity? Read the Book of Mormon!"
this is beautiful. it made me cry when the picture of the angels pushing the handcarts came up. i already loved this song. now it is more meaningful. i know the LDS pioneers sacrificed much in obedience to the Lord and that they are rewarded in heaven. I KNOW the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. and im glad im a member. I love the Lord with all my heart. message me if you have questions about the LDS (mormon) church. ^_^
I can't believe a selfish governor actually wanted to kill one of our great prophets. I know Joseph was the first, but still I can't believe he did an awful act like that.
Do you want me to use the nickname Mormonistan instead?
Actually I find the Mormon history fascinated, proud people overcoming great obstacles allways fascinates me, even though (often that is what drives their strength) it means that their leaders have to take tyrannical measures like your Brigham Young and his arbitrary rule over the life and death of his subjects. That is what happens when you put the words of man above the word of God (etc the Bible).
I'm not easily offended...call it what you want. as long as you comments aren't insulting and mean spirited you will be fine, in other words you wont get blocked/deleted.
i would say that BY was a prickly fellow, i don't agree that he was a tyrant or that his rules where arbitrary. he was definitely not as congenial as JS though. i do agree that we should not take the word of man over what is in the Word, including the Bible. as far as you question.....i don't know what the statistics would be.
Ok, but could it be that it was pretty high proportion though? About his rule read for example "Brigham´s Destroying Angel", and autobiograph of one of the Danites that killed those Brigham didn´t like or he felt as a threat or not fit into his "perfect" kingdom on earth.
I of course mean by word of man including those self proclaimed prophets of your church and the books they have written (Book of Mormon) and their declarations You are always in danger of men made rules if not following Bible
there are a lot of self proclaimed prophets in the bible. thanks for the concern but considering we do fallow the teachings of the bible and fallow the instruction of our leaders AFTER receiving a conformation of them by the Holy Ghost...i don't think i have much to worry about.
@LeifurIceland Good day, i think your question reflects on your self, in this case can't harm full to your spirit and body & belief, weather you believe or not is not matter, between you and the LORD? The bible is true i think you know that.....?
Wow! I'm only half way through and you have my head going a million miles per hour with ideas! I was planning on doing a video with this song set to pictures from the Old and New Testaments...but now I want to do one about the Pioneers! =) You deserve a lot of credit. This movie was very well done!
im so glad you liked it. you know i use your videos as a bench mark, somthing to aspire(sp) to. this one woried me. i was not sure it would live up to the subject. im realy pleased that you like it. thanks, realy!!
