i think more coudve been done rather than resigning. they couldve traded pieces down to white only having 1 rook and the pawns and he couldve possibly worked his pawns down the board with the king protecting them. it might wouldve looked desperate but if he pulle d it off it wouldve been better than resigning...
Red arrows usually means there is something crucial that can be attacked, but is currently being blocked. Green arrows show threats that can happen immediately, and yellow I think just shows something you should be warned of.
I really like this game because when I get in a great position I can only thing of mate. Instead of sacing the bishop and moving your queen to a attacking square or something you just played the position properly and won the game. That's something I really need to learn to do. =P
Actually at the end their i think you need to ree-think that check mate stratedy if you moved your rook to f7 he could ove his rook to e7 if you would take the rook he would take with the kingt and you couldnt check mate the king
the opponent resigned not because of that, because if the opponent DOES take the rook then the other he would take the knight and then he would be up a rook and thats a major advantage also because black's pawn formation is bad
the opponent should have resigned much earlier trading queens and thinking heute could hold a draw with two knights in the corner eith white having 2 rooks and the whole space damn what experten was black anyway, expertl in checkers i guess
At 3:25 black should have taken the knight with his bishop, because then the white knight is forced to take it back (or else Nxg4) rather than the f pawn (which opens up white's black-squared bishop).
Instead he left it too late and white was able to take with the f pawn giving him a much better position.
Yes, you're right ivolol. My guess is that at the time he was reluctant to give up his dk. sq. bishop (his "good" bishop) and figured the other knight would only take its place.
However, this probably would have been better as he obviously changed his mind a few moves later and I was able to take with the f pawn and open up the c1-h6 diagonal for my dk. sq. bishop as you point out. :)
Nice comments. Often comments are vague like "I played Nf6, but Bb6 was probably better", not explaining anything. This guy DOES explain a little bit why moves are being done, not for all moves, but at least the comments aren't entirely void of the reasoning behind them as is often the case ;)

what happened at 7:53?

he could have moved his rook between your two rooks, trading his rook and knight for one of your rooks and he would have avoided the coming checkmate
2nDoppelganger 8 months ago
at 52 sec. you should of took his pawn

Wasn't ...g6?! a blunder by him? Just look how White invaded those weak dark squares around his king!?
Especially since he played ...BxN, in combination with ...g6
that seems total suicide! I bet he underestimated the Colle

g4 was an amazing move! Who wouldn't played almost automatically Ndf3 !? ;-)
Very good game! Congrats on beating the expert. That is a nice scalp for your collection! ,-)
Thank you for this great chess video, please make more! Especially on the Colle-Zukertort system. Thx

what is the signification of red arrow, or green arrow? and the yellow case ?

Have to agree with sergioqcostas; this is not a spectacular game. In my country this is below GM level.
valitzu 3 years ago
yeah in mine its below im level too... but i must admite i liked his thought process with not taking the pawn...

Nice game.
And LB, that is an okay move, but I think it was because he didn't want to trade off his bishop for the pretty bad knight.
kenyudbzto 3 years ago
at 3:06 why not play g5 winning the knight?
LBIsurfer15 3 years ago
ok game but you overlooked some useful tactics as well as the possibility of a transposition at 0:33 into a queen's gambit type opening.

Coulda shoulda woulda...no one comes in with a checkmate strategy, that all depends on how the game actually plays out.

I dont get it. He can just move the Tower to 7F or the horse there aswell (which is worse).
omfg4000 4 years ago
He can't because he's in check. He HAS to move the king.

Pawn to C4 by black would of been better in the opening

At 5:58 you could have had a stronger position by capturing G7 pawn, but that's my opinion.Quote
NO what about the knight on E7

Black played completely unaggressively, and you punished him for that. Well played and congrats on the victory.

the other guy couldn't prevent the rook from reaching the 7th rank, and the king was trapped in the corner.

Before Rubin resigned, he could have moved his Knight to e7... That would have kinda stopped the mate... But his position was already bad...

The Colle is a most under-rated opening. People should play it more often.
pinnoy 4 years ago
This is not the way to play against the Colle. You play a KID (white shouldn't have a pawn on e3 then) or a Gruenfeld.
