  • I remember Karl Kani LOL

  • Very Smart Man

  • STOUT IS A SUCKER!!!!!!!!

  • SAD BUT TRUE: I don't know about Drake having a men's nail polish,

but Wu-Tang gotta men's nail polish..That I find... completely fucked up!

  • watched 2 parts to this vid for him to talk about dame for 45 seconds ! wtf

  • If you're not listening...then that sucks for you. Steve Stoute is speaking real knowledge on what they are selling to us for a buck.

  • Best episode of the breakfast club--having a wise, black, music business man speak.

  • We betray each other and hate on each other cause they make us do it.we are a huge part of the problem why whites don't respect us. Can't be a man by bowing down to whites cause of riches!

  • Of course, there is conflict on the definitions of "what is" and what "should be".

  • All this crap.......stemming from people settling for what-is, instead of uniting together to strive for what should-be.

  • Smart guy

  • He reminds me of Nicky Barnes

  • charlamagne shouldnt speak...

  • faiith, love, life = religion and hiphop is none of those

  • Its true wat he said about Nicki Minaj.

  • haha he says arrounding at 1:40...im rollin wit rocafella yall they got money

  • when is the audiobook coming out?

  • This is the same nigga that got beat up by Diddy with a chair.. Im sorry but I cant take him seriously.. like out of all the niggas to get beat up by..Diddy!?!? and talking about Dame Dash..Dame had this dude shook to even talk to Jay-Z. Yea Steve Stoute is rich, but a Man? naw..a Bitch? yes. no hate. just facts.

  • @413NOTSREHTAEF Man I feel you, but at the same time this man about business. Diddy acting like a dumb ass nigga trying to beat folks up and shit. Diddy lucky ain't nobody whooped his ass lately, lol. I respect this dude, we black folks gotta get out of that mentality of trying to prove a point through force man. We too smart for that... Fight the white man, whoop his ass. Leave other niggas alone damn, ha ha.

  • Checkout Toy Story 4 Toys From the Hood LMAO !!!

  • Martin Lawrence

  • For Us By Us FUBU is For Everybody RACE Culture Region its for the youth Get Over it I seen asian guys wear sean john but they was wearing it cus it had japan on the shirt til they found out it was owned by sean combs lmao they threw dat shit in the trash so but ppl are racist period

  • @TheRODNEYD707 Man you go to a lot of these foreign countries, they wear hip hop gear more than kids in America wear it. It's all over the place....

  • Anybody notice Stoute kinda looks like Dame Dash......... and he's now close with Jay........

  • Hip Hop has produced more Black multi millionares than any form of music in this country. Historically all musicians, including whites (hello Mr.BAllen) get/got ripped off by the 1% whites you talk about, But the truth of the matter is that according to Forbes, the top ten (counting only ten of them) BLACK Hip Hop artist/owners have a net worth of over 2 BILLION dollars. Historically how many rock and roll/country artist have the financial track record of Hip Hop artist? Hip Hop rules!

  • way to bite richard rodriguez's book title

  • he was right about nicki minaj, she most definitely need to bring back her hard core hip hop side, bcuz all this pop shit that she's doing is a bunch of trash, and there's no way that she'll have longevity being a pop artist....i want the old nicki back

  • hahahaha hip hop a religion ???? if thats so any type of music and corporate company is a religion .... its no different then calling garbage .. art.

  • @haliotropic no dumb ass. look at where Hip Hop is now. Japan, china Iran Russia. it has influenced the world. no other music has even close to the touch Hip Hop has. it birthed House Music, Techno, Reggaeton. don't even go there.

  • @mrwhatever213 dude .. that reply has nothing to do with my comment.... im just saying that hip hop is just as much a religion as anything that has a following and a code

  • I cant believe this guy thinks Nicki Minaj is talented!??? fucking Garbage!

  • @kilahchris not a Nicki fan, not a Wayne fan, not a Drake fan, not a Young Money fan. But those 3 can spit some nice lyrics and over the head metaphors. I may not care for their shit music but to deny they can legitimately spit usually is straight up hating.

  • why the hell didnt they ask steve why puff went ham on his head with champagne bottles? and why he went from nas to jay during their beef? unloyal fucka

  • hiphop is nothing like religion. Its an entertainment culture. music, dialect, art, fashion etc thats it.

    Hip hop...a way of life

It doesn't tell you how to raise a child or treat a wife - Q-Tip

  • @gomarcphil It used to be but not anymore hip hop used to show the poor and tell there story religion is set values though your religion it shows the values of the poor.

  • @gomarcphil yes it do

  • People calling him a snake because he about his product.

  • hahahaha

  • Black People get 1% of the wealth of hip hop, whites own the publishing, distribution.... Improve race relations in America????? Black people entertaining white people, making white people rich, and spending all their money on European manufactured goods. LOL

  • @MrBAllen59 Similar arrangements for the Northern european medieval Monarchs, Lords princes and Kings of Europe and their relationship with the Papacy but clearly it didnt stay that way. Its a start.

  • @MrBAllen59 real shit u aint never lied thats why im change my rap name to Adolf Hitler lmao.....MESSAGE

  • @MrBAllen59 sweet

  • @MrBAllen59 Well said. I so glad another black person agrees with me. Little do they know those European manufactured goods the materials are from AFRICA yet africa is "the 3rd world". Black people need to wake up......

  • @MrBAllen59 A lot of what you saying is so true. Not all, but a lot of what you say is true. We still gotta own more of what we create, that's for damn sure. I'm all for that, the few black faces you see that do own, not even close to enough. Because at the end of the day, white people still making more money off hip hop than black people are. We still got a lot of work to do in business period. Well beyond hip hop. So I def feel what you sayin.

  • @MrBAllen59 I'm white and black people are not making me rich.

I gotta work for white people to make my money too most people do.

  • @MrBAllen59 all why supporting the ideals that blacks are all criminals and hookers. Yes this man just just believes in that bullshit.

  • @MrBAllen59 unfortunately you are right. aftermath and Koch and Defjam etc are all owned by jewish. Hip hop is about guns, drugs and bitches and promoting those things and thats what makes them money, now take an anti violence groups or positive groups like: dead prez, kweli, tribe called quest, krs1. They dont go to number 1

  • @MrBAllen59 Hip-Hop in relation to race relations is a double-edged sword! Yes, it helps to unite people of all races through music, dance, language and clothing, but at the same time it pushes the same old negative stereotypes that not only brainwash black youth, but also give racists ammunition. The culture of Hip-Hop is a BEAST no matter which perpsective you're from.

  • @MrBAllen59 Never thought of it that way, but you are damn right, LOL

  • @MrBAllen59 All Media is run by Zionist Jews, Thats The Music Business, News Media, Radio,Hollywood, ect. Its A Secret Society and they are adamant about taking the lions share of The wealth and making sure Blacks dont attain wealth as a whole. Thats what that society is all about. Wealth Control. Blacks are not to have a certain amount of wealth kint Michael Jackson who was up to own SONY Records and now he's dead. RIP Michael Bro. You still The Best Ever!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck you're one'a the few that's up on game enough to put the two instances together. wont call myself a conspiritor, But it's scary how so many ppl never even knew aBout the power move that he was going to make in the comming months. Big-Up's to you.

  • @romello5kuggz People like labels bruh, they can call me a conspiritor, bitchnigga or whatever they wanna call me I dont give a fuck. I been called worse shit bruh and I been over namecalling since Pre K you feel me? anyway fam this Brother Steve Stoute is a very very wise Blackman. Now keep in mind he ran a Major Record Company and a Blackman has to be 5 times smarter than a whiteman to even be concidered for that seat and Steve left that demonic shit and headed for Marketing and doing good.

  • @romello5kuggz Steve Stoute is a very very intelligent Blackman yo, seriously. That Brother is a genious to me. He the kinda brother that anything he does he will be successful at it because he is a true Business man not a fluke. You heard him talking here, what you think? Id jump to work with or for that brother because he knows what he doing and how to play the game. I know working for him Id be rich the right way. I wouldnt have to sell my soul.

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Are you his brother or something lol necause he does not sound all that smart to me.

  • @rosey10880 learn to spell first before you diss someone ok? Its because not necause dummy and you dont know what smart is anyway. Smart to you means a smart pair of Air Jordans and shit!

  • @romello5kuggz People say its about Consciousness like its some magick or some shit. Aint no mystery fam, I just do simple research. All the pieces to the puzzle are there and we all know Michael been on the Zionist Jews hitlist first of all because He is The Best Performer Ever and secondly he owned the most lucrative Music catalog known to man which is that bitchass Beatles catalog and he owned rights to many artist. Ask yourself who benefitted from Michaels death? I'll spell it out S O N Y

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck Yeah but look at who Michael left his wealth to. So its a cycle, even when blacks do get money it ends up in white hands

  • @schail Michael Left me with priceless memories and wonderful music in my head . Young Michael jackson didnt have a childhood fam, but he took the lead so his family can eat and lead he did. That lil man did his thang, but who said the music business was good for a child? In Michaels case it left him with some serious Mental scars. He was a genious musically but his personal life too a negative toll. He did buy some white kids yes. Fuck that money. His memory and all that dancing is worth it all

  • @schail So true. Why couldn't Michael have black children? With discipline, those kids can sill use the money wisely.

  • @MrBAllen59 Yet they assume we're not suppose to be bitter, but hey Gays are out now so we're the new klansmen for not buying into the whole notion of Gay being the new black. What's even worst. Whites run and own the Gay business! lol

  • @MrBAllen59 I think you missed his whole point. What he meant is that young people in America of all races identify with Hip-Hop culture one way or another, whether its the music, fashion, or the slang. In the 70s, not many white people were really digging the O-jays, or the Commodores. I went to a mostly white school and hip-hop is what played at all our dances. The average major hip-hop concert has all races in the same building enjoying the same music.

  • @MrBAllen59 dont forget the fact that the only music that gets pushed out there is dumbed down ignorant fake faggot bullshit that either will have you thinking like a sucka or just be srtaight up irritated...thank god for internet radio

  • @MrBAllen59 preach!!

  • Charlamagne is a jack ass.

  • Great post!

  • lol at the karl kani joke

  • He knows the business

  • lol @ whenever Steve Stoute gets press, there's always someone who quotes "Industry Shakedown"

  • Then some niggas rushed in, punched him in his mouth

Threw him down on the floor and started stompin him out

Screamin "Fuck steve stoute, serve street justice!"

Cryin' on the floor wit your lip all busted

You went out like a pussy, fuck the dough you got

'cause wit all that money nigga, you still can't buy heart

    Only gangstas play the part

  • @0milkitron0 WORD UP!

  • steve stoute is an industry powerhouse, makes good points, but feeding into dame dash bashing was unfortunate. taking the higher road on the air would have been a better choice.

respect he guy, but he drops just a notch for that.

i respect dame win or lose for uncovering the snakes in this business. i thought dame should have been smarter, but overestimating his relationship with jay may have been his downfall.

  • charlmagne da god how can u call Dame broke, he worth at least $10million he could buy your monkey ass 100 times over

  • @MrBirdgang1 $10 Million? Really? Did you read where both of his apts. in Tribeca were forelcosed on and his truck was repossessed? This is a matter of public record. Do your research please.

  • I respect stoute he do his thing but Cash Money nor Young Money do not needs Stoute's 2 cents. Them niggas are caking just fine without him.

  • @BonusCivis Yeah Cash Money got that formula. Actually that formula was Lil Wayne.. I could see the talent in that dude even when he was just the lil nigga in the group on just a couple verses wit the Hot Boyz. My cuz was tellin me the other day, man I still can't believe Cash Money still around and making all this money. Them niggas still around and runnin the game, that's crazy. They got that plan, but Slim is the brains behind all that shit in my opinion.

  • @n88nick Steve Stoute is successful too but you can hear the misery in his voice that dem niggas getting that money like that on that scale and its all theirs. Steve gotta break down with the man or theyll put him on the Michael Jackson retirement plan.

  • Reality is the culture isn't ours. Its for white americans entertainment the modern minstrel show.

    YARCH to the MASSES

  • WORD. SHIT HAPPENS

  • Some real shit being said right here

  • new beats on my page

  • it happens everyday in business you cain't win every time, somebody booked RICK ROSS one month ago before me and he got the deal and sold 9700 tickets around 80 dollars each, so you cain't hit the target everyday, but try to make a balance and get more up that downs

  • there's no saving Drake, he's already become the biggest pussy in hip hop so he can't be branded, all that's left now is going back to toronto and ur degrassi money pussy

  • @JPoizonOak Common put the final nail in that coffin.

  • @BonusCivis true enough but it aint over till common ethers him like 50 cent did ja rule

  • @JPoizonOak Am I a sadist because I want to see him (Drake) ethered? Lmao..

  • @BonusCivis yes you are, but seeing as it's very common to want him to get ethered, it's about as sedistic and unwanted as torturing hitler would be (not at all)

  • lol they know to bleep it out, but they know the parents aren't going to have a clue what's going on and most children/teens listening aren't going to run to their parents telling them they didn't bleep something, because if they were the type to do that they wouldn't be listening to it in the first place, and if it ever does become a problem they can just play ignorant and blame the rapper for not caring and let them take the fall

  • seems cool kinda reminds me of ll cool j facially and the bald head but all i can think of is the freddie foxx industry shake down reference.

  • It's crazy how he shouted out FUBU and I caught it when I was a kid. NOBODY watching it caught it during the commercial and I was mind blown. It was crazy. Stout is right. GAP, and the rest of them don't give a fuck. They just want rappers to move their shit. As much as I listen to EDM, he's so right on about the culture and the Hype videos. Only thing I don't agree with, is that the whole thing with the culture. Some of us really do live it, but some just do it to do it.

  • Nigga look like Preacher from Dead Presidents

  • @DUGMAC1973 lmao cleon aka bokeem woodbine lol

  • @DUGMAC1973 u are funny as fuck

  • @DUGMAC1973 ahaha yea!

  • @DUGMAC1973 LMAO

  • Yeah man, shout out to Hype fa make'n the hood look good.

  • MTV are well known racist, research.

  • true

  • This might seem random as hell but is that start snitching on the board behind him and if so why is that there lol

  • People buying the song not the artist real talk

  • Cripple rapper w/skills

    Niggas in Paris remix

  • This dumb house nigger monkey is chatting shit. Do you really think MTV don't know the content their putting out. Nothing in the media is by chance. It's very rarely the case.

  • "People are not buying the artists, they are buying the songs"...real talk....

  • THE SHIRTS SURE ARE TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

  • so smart and a real thinker proud of you

  • IT TAKES DUDES LIKE STEVE TO BREAK THINGS DOWN BECAUSE MOST FOLKS ARE..LOST!!!!(((SOSAD!!!))I SALUTE STEVE STOUTE....HE TALKING GREAT STUFF...

  • one a few interviews where the guest didnt entertain a single thought charlamagne had in his head, im guessing envy gave him the heads-up

  • puffy hit this guys with a champagne bottle lol

  • hey its Martin Lawrence

  • This man speaks the truth

  • Very interesting discussion. One thing though, Alicia Key's didn't get dropped, Colombia just refused to let her do her music her way, but also didn't want to let her leave, which ended up in Clive Davis buying out her contract. They would have been content to have her music sitting on a shelf for years, which is just another example of how spiteful things can get in the industry, and how you really have to know what you want in order not to get run over and made into a gimmick.

  • I do remember literally laughin @ the GAP when L had the FUBU hat on.

  • @khordkutta ha ha. That is the power of an Emcee and mystery too. Emcees or rappers have been dropping hiding messages for years. Lol @ Gap

  • TASH is the most underrated rapper of all time, TASH from his solo albums RAP LIFE and CONTROL FREEK and all the albums he did with THA ALKAHOLIKS, TASH has the best flow and style in rap

  • ya check out my music

  • Huh? Did he say Drake wore nail polish? Ah nooooo.

  • That's the definition of culture not a religion

  • Steve is a smart business man

  • That's why the "whiteman" will always be in control..an as soon as a black man gets close to being a billionare in hip hop..they say he sells himself to the devil..that's fuck'd up..

  • Smart dude...

  • Tanning of America? I think I'll pass. Hiphop no longer speaks truth to power and Jay Z and Stoute are part of the cadre of black bourgeoise that just want entree into the Anglo power structure without agitating the power structure. Hiphop was a politcal tour de force as well as music and cultural, when you can get suburban America to buy into groups like Public Enemy and Krs One, and the Wu that's Tanning, I hope Stoute and his "Translation Media" doesnt think they had anything to do with it

  • @junya74 clearest statement I've seen on youtube in awhile.

  • @junya74 i see what your saying and I agree with you as far as hiphop not being what it once was, but don't compare to what the game is now to what it used to be as far as this book is concern. Stout is a hip hop head. he knows what hes talking about. you can her the knowledge and passion when he talks about it being a culture, and stating how bad the talent level is now. so the book will be from the perspective of someone who knows because they been there. not someone from this period.

  • @BuddyAcesPRESENTS Yeah I agree

  • shout out to dame dash......its amazing that when dame was at the top of his game ...nobody and i mean nobody talked slick or greasy about him but now......wow! Dame will be back on top again(dude to smart and to aggressive to fail) ups and downs come with life....

  • smart guy

  • Cheeeeeyeerch Articulate

  • Stoute is not a genius and LL used the lyric as it fit. FUBU is a relative line with multiple meaning. GAP and FUBU were on two different fashion levels that is why FUBU didnt resonate to the GAP stakeholders. That hat was a sign and they as in GAP probably let it pass cause it was LL's demand with signing on to do the commercial.

  • Ok, Bokeem Woodbine from Dead Presidents here, just isn't as smart as he portrays himself to be. Comparing Hip Hip to organized religion with his reasoning is laughable. Code, language, dialect core beliefs ect. You might as well compare corporate America to religion. Starbucks is my god.Yea right! I think this guy not only blew the Alicia Keys deal, he probably blew a few old rich white rich men under desks to get where he is.

  • He looks and sound so gay!

  • im startin to think Charlamange has a crush on Drake

  • i still rock karl kani lol that shit still cost like 200 300 bills lol

  • @ske Word, Guess too. Yo Dame musta been shi**tin on dudes son yo just think he was mingling with millionaires now he got nuthin, nobody. If he was wise he woulda made some friends, put himself in the position where people owe him favors, that's what shrewd cats do.You gotta smile at people you dont like do ish you dont like you gotta be a thinker. He prob had the attitude that he had money like the next man, never thinking him and Jay would part I guess he was too arrogant, now they laughing at him

  • That is a very smart guy im going to buy the book. I agreed with everything he said

  • Im focus man, tell Stouts to hallor @ me man

  • There wouldnt be no jay without dame. Its just facts no biggie without diddy

  • i remember when L had on that fubu on the gap commercial. that was amazing to me

  • he said not only "lack of talent" in the industry but also "lack of talent" getting away with lack of talent. WOW!!!!!! WORD SON

  • random cats wit zero talent....

  • yea ...da sourth is garbage

  • BULL SHIT FALSE INFORMATION

  • anybody haten on dame is clearly not a true jay z fan

  • i heard this nugga gay.

  • Everything he said about Nicki Minaj....I've been saying this shit since day 1...motherfuckers think she is wack, but she is a sick ass lyricist.....she just needs to do a project with some real ass producers to solidify her as that BITCH!! Kim and Lauryn Hill lucked out because they dropped in a time when authentic hip-hop was popular,...Nicki dropped when pop was being pushed so her hand was forced. If Nicki drops a CD with production from Alchemist, Dre, Primo, Tim, Pharell...its a wrap!!

  • he needs to be a president of a record company..it looks like he can bring the real back in music.

  • @Justs0MEGUY11 he was......@Columbia Records @interscope Records

  • dope interveiw

  • I love this...he should be manager seriously !!!

  • excellent interview...very very intelligent. love the way the guys at 105 come at him from different angles and SS just drops mad mad jewels.

    keep it up! PEACE

  • @clearview360x Them 105 heads cant sit in the same room as Stoute....he's on a whole different level. He plays with the big boys. Only one who could even conversate with him seriously out of that staff is DJ Envy, because Envy is an industry vet, proven. Charlemagne should just be quiet and take fuckin notes.

  • He talks about people makn it off of no talent then mentions nicki minaj,

  • Charlemagne is a loser seriously

  • Stoute is the man, it should be way more views on here. But people are probably watching the artist that he created on youtube instead

  • @bluestarmoney true i read somewhere he helped Nas in the mid 90's is that true?

he seems like a clever guy

  • @bluestarmoney STEVE IS A SNAKE AS NAS HE SPEAKS TRUTH BUT HES A SHAKE DOWN NIGGA

  • @bluestarmoney He did a lot with artist but he created no one..

  • Good shit.

  • lmfao at Drake and nail polish

Cosign about Nicki, the chicks music has no substance

  • @MrSpliffstarz Fucking comedy

  • @MrSpliffstarz i actually agree with stoute, she has the potential to make deeper music that coincides with hip hop culture but her gay ass boss lil gayne is just distorting her image and making her a pop artist and if this keeps going on then she's done talent wise

  • Stoute is ridiculously intelligent. Great interview... thanks for putting this up.
