  • @dave2000xl thanks for watching...

  • Hey man, I have a mpc500, tried and it works there also! The chops are not at the time that I want (probably because of having 12 and not 16 pad), but its useful to use with some types of sample! Nice tip ;)

  • @carbonizado thanks cuz...

  • need this bruh. preciate ya

  • @mrsonnyredd1 no problem..

  • yo this vid is needed 2 thumbs up yo!!!!!

  • @bmuslim36 thx fam..

  • so theres no way of adjusting the start and end of each chop?

  • Comment removed

  • This is a pretty sick workaround...

  • i sell drum disc for mpc's if anyone is interested get @ me.

  • im getting an mpc now.

  • Good look! Been wanting to chop, jus didn't know how to. U may have saved my life...lol Thanx again, bruda!

  • Trim screen ZnEdit is how you chop. This is more of a trick.

  • this is a auto chop trick you are right and the mpc "2000" doesn't allow you to chop in 16's via zone edit. but thanks for your input.

  • Yes it does, just not automatically. If your sample length is 16000 you would chop into 16 zones with lengths of 1000. Apply the same math to any length sample.

  • exactly.... this is for those who don't want to chop that way and want it done automatically. i know you can do it using the math in zn edit. but some people are lazy.

  • pretty much. on the 2000 it chops, litterally creating a new sample. i think thats actually easier to just use zone edit

  • good looking on that I never knew.. that been ,,using recycle to chop then transfer to mpc 2000 you saved me a step or at least added more options to my arsenal ...It wasn't working at first, but you have to change the zone length to fix..Once again good looks duke..

  • @JerkCough1 No problem. Read the manual, it's like a longer better explained version of my previous comment and you should get on the mpc forum, but use the search before making a new thread.

  • @UrbanCrunkMovement ...could you instruct me on how to do that please

  • @mosdef369 How to do what? Join the forum? just gogole mpc forum and sign up. To ZnEdit you gotta download the manual and read how to do it for yourself.

  • Appreciate it, imma remember this.

  • yo, can u show us more lil tricks and tips on the mpc 2000...plzzz, i cant find no gud videos on the 2000 classic

  • yeah i got you fam... any ideas????

  • matta fact u can just walk us the way to bascially make a beat...for instance first sample sumthan into it and then take it from there from trimming to assigning to pads..dats it...thx... and also do u know where i can get a replacement screen for the 2000 mine got lines in it

  • couldn't get this to work on a 4 bar loop. while you did show me some interesting things and let me do things on my mpc i never done before, i couldn't get this to sound right. essentially, the sample does load into multiple pads. however, the sample triggers depending on the velocity of how hard you hit the key on any of the pads. - i followed instructions, and while this is a neat feature you figured out, i can't use it. i must have problems. manual chops for life i guess, like pete rock.

  • Did you sell your MV8800?

  • naaa its in the closet collecting dust.....

  • Is the auto-chop supposed to chop the sample into 16 pieces so you can trigger the sample in 16 different positions, and can you adjust the volume on the pads to make them all equal?

  • naaa you can't, that would be dope tho.

  • damn,thnx dude,mad respect for you,peace IllSkilz

  • Yo you got mad equipment like you said I saw you on the mv 8000 also! Good vid I'm going to let my homeboy with the 2000 know about your tutorial. I got the 2000xl peace!

  • Yo Yo YO! Thank you - You have just upped my game to the next level. You're a Gentleman and a scholar.

  • Thanks for all the help with the info. When you get a chance, check out my vid and leave some feed back. Im new to the game, so i need some advice. PEACE!

  • your welcome bro...

  • good look brutha ...This is a cold ass short cutt keep up the good work

  • thank you.

  • i've known bout this for awhile now.....I think having to do it like this makes you a sharper producer, cause you gotta pay more attention to the pieces of music you decide to sample/chop, and it makes you do more intricate sampling as well....either way from one 2000 user to another big props....

  • thanks cuz...

  • yo man in the mpc 2000 how do you get to the "off tracks ignored" option when converting your songs so that once you've converted your song in SONG MODE it won't play all the tracks at once??

In other mpc models they have the MUTE TRACKS IGNORED and REFERENCED TO SEQUENCE 1 options when you press convert but in the 2000 it doesnt have this.

Hope you can help me out with this peace.

  • good to see someone from VA is making fresh beats! peace

  • yo you are a life saver dog i been needing this info for along time thanks

  • yh me 2 thanks alot bro!!!

  • That beat was funky as a motherfucker..! Good job partner...!!!

  • YO.... i got it... jus based off ur statement... i rewatched the video, and i realized the specefics of the MONO/ the assingment that is neccessary for it to cutt off... Good Lookin on the video, on some seriousness.. lol I jus got my MPC 2000xl 3days ago, and i feel good already... im transitioning from the software...

  • word up!

more vids coming soon stay tuned.

  • yo... I did the autochop with the 2k, then when i created another sample that i chopped the same way it started to cluster, due to the fact that the 16 wasnt on the first sample of the orginal track that i proccesed.. i havent tried drums yet with it... u understand what im expressing?

  • yeah u to use mute assign so the samples wont cluster together. send me yur number through message and i'll walk you through it.

  • yo good looks i dont kn0w how u figured this shit out but i been lookin for a way to get this trick done. thanks yo

  • yeah im a genius....i kid i kid.

but your welcome man. more videos on the way stay tuned.

  • call me stupid but i never new you could auto chop on the xl and i had mine for ever.i slice the sample so i can edit each pad pretty much the same deal.

  • bro i do the same shit, i hate auto chop really. i just sample each part i want and edit accordingly. although it takes alot of time, i still feel its the best way.

  • damn this is dope! never thought my 2k would chop automatically lol but too bad we cant edit each chop but its great stuff bro!

  • try messin with the start values. instead of having it at 100. maybe move it to 80 or 90. thats the only form of editing i know with this feature.

  • Nice Dante! I knew you would come back strong! Great tutorial bruh! I'm glad you're back!

  • yeah man.
