  • I always imagine Frank Gallagher in this video. Don't know why

  • ha ha manchester hillbillys with there trackies in there socks! in 2006! fuckin hell i was doin that in 1996 on scotty road!!

  • @oeyeyea Yeah cause its real this..the fact that you lot still wear fuckin trackies is comical...and pink ones at that..shared with your sister..

  • im proud to be a mancunian but this video is not a true picture of manchester,s council estates, wheres all the heroin addicts, thugs terrorising old people , etc, and that pub is the billy greens and needed shuttin down years ago, bad dump, full of lazy benefit scroungers that dont even try lookin for work ..... good song but these estates in manchester need a bomb droppin on them !!!

  • @TheMadmanc32 ....Good shout. Our leaders at the various councils, have changed the North West over the years into something that resembles a Multicultural, bankrupt, slum.

  • @TheMadmanc32 The people of Collyhurst happen to be the most down to earth, salt of the earth, you could ever meet...Well some of them anyway...

  • This can't be Manchester? The video is not full of darkies.

  • @bobestes well said!!

  • Love this song.

  • Im Manchester born and bred, and tired of the 'Gallagher bros' / Shameless poseurs' appropriation of a city with deep and rich cultural, political and industrial heritage, and present. This is a city that sports a museum of 'peoples politics' (universal suffrage) let alone being the cradle of the industrial revolution! Now often reduced to a sort of defiant 'in your face', 'were thick and broke and proud of it' stereotype. Shame on them

  • @bojack40 Manchester: 9th largest city in the UK. Culturally diverse. Nice wee town. Smaller than London, Birmingham and Glasgow. A great place for a weekend away. Rains a lot.

  • this should have more views

  • @Gtlgrid it might have if it wasnt shit

  • still got the dance moves :)

  • I used to live on Charles Barry Crescent in Hulme, and the pub in this video (inside and outside) looks just like the local, Grants'. Is it? (Across the road from the PSV club.)

  • @Kevin107ish its filmed in collyhurst, and its Billy Green's on Talgarth Road if im not mistaken

  • I just love that voice - Brilliant!

  • Manc all the way :)

  • It does make me proud to be from Manchester, and they were my fave band, but does anybody else tink it seems like the vid is an episode of Shameless?

  • If they ever get back together, they can have a gig and my local, £200 sound ok?

  • Nice relaxing song.

  • Reform them Paul!!!

  • I can't fault this video in any way. A proper tribute to British society. Right I'm off to the Pub now then.............

  • @MiladyBitch666 not the one in the video its shut down .... and your heads up your ass if you think the rest of the coutry is like that.... collyhurst is a proper shit hole

  • this is poetry. Encapsulating what this country is about in a brilliant song.

  • ...and Manchester should be proud of this fucking poet and great artist named Paul Heaton...

  • On a bitter cold day in January a song like this warms my heart....the cozy feeling of a local pub comes through in this video.

  • This song is so richly ingrained in British culture it's a testament to what is lacking in the french fry derived slop of modern pop music today and its youth - it's so hard to find original timeless performers and bands.

Maybe I have to keep looking but I end up with flakes, posers and constant disappointments.

Paul's efforts to save the British pubs is noble and hopefully not taken mildly, he's struck a cord with this song and his mission. Put down your iphones, Blackberries and Wake up!

  • They shot this video at Billy Greens at the corner of Talgarth Rd and Kingsfold Ave Manchester....If I'm ever in the area I'll stop by for a pint or two, but I'd better buy a few rounds for the locals as it's one tough neighborhood.

  • What a charming song of daily life in a town that makes Britain truly special (a twist in the lyrics but true!!!)...it's almost an anthem for anyone who's watching the World Cup for 2010.... Not even a comment here!!!!!...does anyone have a pulse?....

  • I can see everyone else is watching the lousy low res version - this one is much clearer and better quality.

  • Loving this song here on this side of the Pond!

    God Save England

    God Bless America

....and yeah I don't think anyone has a pulse nowadays!
