I love these guys. I hope they do a formally produced video now that they have the new album out. I have been "into" them for about a year now, I live in the US and almost no one I know[including metal fans] have ever heard of them, but remember in the 1980's[for example] "metal" in America meant songs about sex orgies & drug overdoses, sad sad sad
Uh, I guess you like everybody else around , likes to believe yourself singular, you're not.
I still have a cassette single of this song I bought at this place we used to call a "record store" back in the 80's. Cassettes were these things that were made of plastic and, oh never mind.
Anyway, what you mean to say is that no one of your age group has ever heard of them.
And furthermore CajonDS, "metal in America meant songs about orgies and overdoses"? Take your teen fingers back to Google and do more research before making blanket comments like that.
BTW- music that does happen to be about drugs and/or sex is still what music should be, entertainment. If you want life guidance go somewhere besides a CD. Thats what I hated about the 90's, people like Eddie Vedder trying to tell me how to live according to THEIR values.
Hello. I wish to apologize for not conveying the exact message I intended to in what I typed. What I meant to say is that, I wish that more metal bands here in America that found mainstream commercial success would have explored more varying types of topics, historical topics, "doom" and other type things that Candlemass and other bands that have done so have done. Oh, I know what a "record" store is, by the way I'm 32 yrs old. I just hope someday music such as this somehow becomes accepted more
dude, im from america too and i love these guys! but im really into judas priest and savatage. if you havent heard of savatage, check out their early stuff, like sirens, its dark metal, which is the best kind!
his names robert lowe and hes amazing he sings for another doom metal band one of my all time favorite bands names solide aeturnus...fitting tittle to tell you eh?
I know Messiah didn't sing on Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and a couple of the other albums but I just can't accept Candlemass without him!! He gives them something unique. I am still a huge fan but I find it so disappointing that he is not there!
Well since they were having problems co-operating with messiah they couldn't do different....he was an asshole they say in an interview I read....he has a great voice and maybe candlemass will always be stamped with messiah but they're still a great band without him.
Who is the slapnuts trying to destroy this song with growling? I would like to beat the shit out of him so he can never sing with Candlemass ever again. The blond I guess I can tolerate, if I have to, but Messiah Marcolin he ain't. Fuck 'em both in the ear.
Messiah wasn't the vocalist on Epicus Doomicus, the album which showcased this most amazing of tracks, and therefore if anyone should be fucked in the ear it is he. Which he was - because he's not in the band anymore, and the man who should get all the spotlight - Johan Langquist - is.
Damn, wish I was there (I'll have to kepe a closer eye on concert dates) since a flgith to Stockholm takes less than an hour. Must have been a thrilling expierience.
Though I still think Messiah is the best singer Candlemass will ever have, only Johan and no other can truly bring the songs from the masterpiece Epicus to (un)life. Too bad he didn't stick around for another album after the reunion. Though I do hear that there's a recording of a recent rehearsal with him floating around somewhere...
i just noticed the singer from Solitude Aeternus is present, he's the blonde dude with the long, "balding" head and goatee. ZOMG! Now I really would have paid good money to be there for that show!
