  • Good job! Happy landings!

  • nice landing

  • @charliechaser Thanks for writing and watching!

  • Great landing! Thanks for pointing out that using slipping as a technique in lowering one's altitude and airspeed. :)

  • @TrueCourse You're welcome. Thanks for watching!

  • A very good landing I must say

  • Thank you

  • the taxiways are named by the atc, he say the name of the taxiway and the pilots go to the taxiway that the atc ordered to go.

  • that was an question!

  • What did say the atc and the pilot, i'm brazilian and i didn't understand all! can anyboy help me.

  • 1:24 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  • who was that gay ATC lolzz xD

    nice landing :)

  • Absolutely Sir!

  • hell yea!

  • @daddygreenjeens So I assume the hell yea is a good thing. :) Thanks for writing.

  • Nice job brother.

  • @April4th1984 Thanks! And thanks for watching.

  • good video, keep it up.

  • i still dont get how to read taxi ways

  • @9gent Most of taxiway are named according to the alphabet phonetic and the atc give the name of taxiway and you taxi.

  • Awesome vid. What kind of camera do you use to film this?

  • love it. nice vid! would love a cessna of my own. oh well, back to FS2004! that's the closest i'll be getting!!!

  • alright! some Civil Air Patrol in this vid! (CAP Flight 1929)

  • @jarhead565 Yes, a CAP flight waiting to go as I crossed the threshold. Cool stuff every time.

  • @rdfelty Amen sir. You know, I just got my Instructed Solo wings via Civil Air Patrol just last week. Have you concidered in joining C.A.P?

  • @jarhead565 I haven't yet. But I know several people who are in CAP. Where do you fly out of?

  • @rdfelty I fly out of two airports; Anoka Co. Blaine Municiple (KANE) and South St. Paul (Fleming) Field (KSGS). Both VERY good airports for practicing tight left traffic approaches and fustrating control tower communication lol. Could barely understand if they want me to depart or holdshort at KANE :) But KSGS is not controlled.

  • Very good video. I like the descriptions you added through the approach.

  • @zadeh79 Thanks for the nice comments. I'll remember that.

  • Great job I train on 172 and ready to solo within the next week need to find a perfect day.

  • Gotta love that 172. :) I have the same headset, thanks to a friend of mine. His dad works for Republic Airways...

  • When the ATC tells you which taxiway to take (like in this case he said "left on Delta, taxi to parking"), how do you know which one of them is "Delta"?

  • @Spetsop they have directional signs along the runway and on the taxiways to aid you. if you have a airport facility directory too, with the airports diagram, that can help you taxi also.

  • @spluver14

Thank you for the answer :)

  • Just found your other explanation vid.. nevermind previous comment, thanks!

  • Excellent video. Thank you.

  • @Superbates123 Thanks!

  • @rdfelty looks a little windy or something, why was the approach a little shaky? was it because of your distance to the runway was so short and you had to adjust appropriately in a short amount of time? By the way, nice video, I'm trying to get into a college aviation flight course and the planes they will have us fly are Cessna 172's. I was also wondering, shouldn't you have more distance from the runway to have more time to make your corrections, I.E Airspeed, Vertical slope, everything else?

  • @deserteagle421 This was an early flight of mine and it might have been a little windy, but more than likely what you're seeing is me making adjustments. I was slipping to lose altitude and that might account for some of the nose movement you're seeing. You will love the 172's. A great plane. This approach looks generally like the approach I do when in the airport pattern. In this case I joined the pattern on the base leg and though it could have been further out...

  • @deserteagle421 ... this is fairly typical of a VFR approach. In re-reading my notes, I felt I was a little high and fast so I made some adjustments. For me, one of the hardest things to get a feeling for as a new pilot, was how to join the pattern at towered airports coming from any direction. It's just a matter of practice I think but I often would be high and fast. I've improved that a lot with practice. But generally, this is a good approach distance in my opinion.

  • @rdfelty Now I see, maybe the distance seemed shorter because of airspeed and height, for instance, decreasing height increased airspeed while the airspeed was already pretty high, which left you comin in quick. Did the flaps help you decrease airspeed while descending? Also, do you remember your airspeed upon approach before you descended? Sorry, I'm just curious, Still an awsome video with a nice landing now that I have more knowledge about it.

  • @rdfelty Godd landing, good video, cheers!!!

  • Nice video, i fly a 172 and its such a great plane, thanks for sharing!

  • @FlyerJuan Have to watched any of my other 172 videos? I will have a new one going live on Friday.

  • @rdfelty Good, check out any of mine, i have some good ones... Specially the last 2 ones, with an IMC landing on our alternative airport...

  • @FlyerJuan Will do, thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @rdfelty helo sir i have a ques i u can pls help me out..im flyin c-172 Sykhawk can u tell me dat wen ur on finals i mean how to do de approach properly i end up higher or faster n wen im abt to touch down stall warnin y is dat?? can u pls help me sir thnx

  • Nothing wrong with that approach and landing, and sometimes firm is better than soft. Well done. :)

  • @scarybaldguy Thanks for the nice comment, scary bald guy! (I've probably never written that sentence before.)

  • looked good to me. smooth transition and flare. they say...any landing you walk away from is a good one! nice job

  • For anyone wondering what Cap flight 1929, it is the callsign for a specific Civil Air Patrol aircraft (CAP 1929) I myself do flight training with the CAP, and that's what we use instead of the N- (Tail Number),

  • @christianguy1993 Thanks for adding that information. Very helpful.

  • Haha, just clicked on this randomly, and I think I can barely see my house from here. Kinda.

  • Great job captain, see you up there! Clear sky.

  • Real Good Descent And Landing

  • @TheCessnaMan Thanks. And coming from The Cessna Man that means a lot.

  • I don't agree. It was a good landing. I have about 70 hours and landings were particurely rough for me. I think the flying was fine. The video is good both from a content and tech perspective. How much flying have you gotten in the past year? I love summer but not so much from a flying perspective. My 152 can be a real dog when it 95 out:)

  • @hkarlh Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I would say that in the past year I've done about 35 hours. I can sometimes do as much as 45 hours/year, but a lot of that was during training. I agree about summer flying. Hot, bumpy and often hazy... love the fall a lot. I just flew some pattern this morning after switching planes. Should produce that video this week sometime. Thanks for writing.

  • Great videos! I've been watching to listen into the radio talk for practice.

  • @Starbelt Glad the videos are helping. My radio work isn't perfect, far from it... but hopefully you're getting an idea of how it can work in real world scenarios. Thanks for writing.

  • a new private pilot myself...very nice work on getting down with that slip

  • VERY NICE I really like this video :D Continue the good work :D

  • @pokemon6031 Thanks for watching and for writing.

  • Great AWESOME VIDEO MAN !!!!!!!!

  • @eemuska Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • By the way concra for the videos and for sure this kind of image is amazing great cameras

    cheers

    Abel

  • Good landing , good tiny corrections

  • Thanks. This was a while ago, so your note prompted me to watch this landing again. Not too bad! :)

  • no ground control at this airport? i havent seen one of those. then again, i only have 20 hours :)

  • There is a ground control at Norwood, but on landings they often keep you with the tower. It's generally the same guys anyway. For departure however, you have to call ground first, at 121.8.

  • I use Final Cut Pro to put these videos together. Thanks for writing.

  • Very good! Nice landing! Thanks for sharing your flights. :)

  • Thanks for writing and watching.

  • Thanks dynasty612. Appreciate the comments. I have my ticket now, but still learning. The videos help me see things I'd like to correct.

  • Nice video and good landing, started high but nice correction. I have family right near that airport I've been there a few times. Good luck with your flying!

  • Great Videos! I am taking lessons on KOWD as well with Horizon Aviation, which just acquired a C172 G1000. Do you by any chance have any videos of your steep turns, or slow flight? I will be practicing those on my next lesson.
