St Ignatius refers to the Catholic Church in 107 AD, so the Church existed well before 325 AD!!!. It was founded directly by Christ. Mt 16:18.

ALso, Catholicism is the ONLY biblical faith, adhering to all of Scripture! Sola Fide is against Scripture:

James 2:20 - "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"

and could not find evidence in the BIBLE to support the roman catholic doctrine...i remember the may procession...stations of the cross....rosary...and also only just taking the bread for communion...JESUS & the apostles taught that we should partake of the bread & cup..not the bread only...you call the pope holy father....GOD is the only HOLY FATHER...john 17:11...you have a catechism.....the BIBLE teaches sola scriptura...yes i believe in sola fide...however it's not the roman catholic church

Regarding Baptism:

Protestants reject the salvific nature of the sacrament:

Jn 3:5 - "Jesus answered: Amen, amen I say to thee, UNLESS a man be born again OF WATER and the Holy Ghost, he CANNOT ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD."

Mk 16:16 - "He that believeth AND IS BAPTISED, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned."

Regarding Infant Baptism:

We are all born with Original Sin, and are sinners. Even Infants need forgiven. Ps 51:5.

Since Infants have not yet reached the age of reason, they are Baptized by the faith of their parents. One must believ in Christ to be saved: therfore by your reckoning al infants who die before the age of reason must be lost - this is not Biblical!!

The bible does not contradict itself in any way; thus, there must be an explanation which can reconcile the two seemingly contradictory passages.

Let us examine some possibilities.

Perhaps a favorite verse is Psalms 51:5: "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me." Let us first reason from the meaning of the verse itself: does it say that David, the writer, inherited the sin of Adam? No. The verse itself (out of context) might indicate that David's parents were in sin at the time of his conception.

This seems to be the meaning of the verse at face value. There is no inference from the verse itself that David is guilty of sin because of the sin of Adam or the (possible) sins of his mother and father.

So, even taken out of context, this verse is not supporting the concept of original sin.Placed into its proper context, we can see what David is really attempting to communicate. It is clear that this is the point in David's life where the depth & gravity of his sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel chapters 11 & 12) has been fully recognized, & David is in considerable guilt, sorrow, & repentance. He is expressing this guilt & sorrow with some of the most pathetic words in the bible (Psalms 51:3-5).

Regarding Papal Primacy:

Matt16:18 -"And I say to thee: THOU ART PETER; and UPON THIS ROCK I will BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

In the NT Peter is mentioned 155 times, whereas the others were mentioned 130 times COMBINED!!!!

Peter Clearly has primacy over the others:

Matt. 14:28-29, Matt. 16:16, Mark 8:29; John 6:69,Matt. 16:17, Matt. 16:19, Matt. 18:21, Matt. 19:27, Mark 10:28, John 21:15-17, 1 Peter 5:1 etc

You parrot the common heretial accusation that Ignatius was referring to the "universal church". However, the term "Catholic" was used to name the One True Church of Chirst and distinguish it from heretical offshoots.

Besides, your idiotic assertion is refuted by the fact that Ignatius held Catholic teaching - Eucharist, Priesthood, Believers, Our Lady etc.
