My dad used to play that music when he was alive. I'm more into punkrock music my self and oldies but thanks for posting that! I'm also a writer...I know how frustrating it is to have to clean when you'd rather be writing! LOL! And stay in the positive!
Beautiful music at the end. I absolutely LOVE you kitchen wall tile. You're giving me some great ideas for our newly purchased home. So do you have an update? I'd love to see what you did with it all. Good Job so far. I'm totally subscribing....ya know, so I don't miss any updates. :-)
You read my mind! As soon as the video started I thought "Joe's gonna get a Jackie Kennedy at the White House comment" and danged if you didn't beat me to it! Lovely place you got - the clutter just means you have a life. (Unfortunately, at my house the clutter has a life of its own!) I really enjoyed this - sorry it took me so long to view it, I'm soooo behind at the moment! Well deserved 5 stars.
I've also thought about that "single" thing but these days it's way too late to matter!
The clutter right now means I'm yanking stuff out, repairing/restoring and selling it to make room for the work I want to do to the house. The dirt is another story.... Now, if you'll just bring your cameras through this next door.... this sofa was donated by Mrs. Marshall T Bigbucks of New Rochelle. We decided to leave the Wilson bedroom just as it was. If you will point your cameras this way, this next painting is an original Willmeth donated by.........
I loved your Eames chairs. I have 3 yellow fiberglass ones in my house. They were my mom and dads. Just wish I had the ones with the arms. Those are long gone. And the radios rock. I collect those too. From Philco's of the 30's to the funky early transistor ones. And I must say your house is a match to mine as far as mess. But mine is dirty too :( haven't been able to clean in a year and no one will help LOL God I have a task at hand to deal with.
Wow! Thanks! I had a fourth but a friend broke it. He was kind of a big guy. Did you notice the Saarinen chairs? I've been selling off most of the radios. As for dirt... Gurrrl you just DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW!
Cool house. It wasn't so messy as cluttered in places, but cluttered with cool stuff and that just makes you a collector...and maybe eccentric. If you had of seen my place when I was a bachelor (or when the wife leaves for a month, whew, then the place gets messy. I am a slob. :)
OMG! first, "A Summer Place"..who doesn't love that song? ok,now on to Keely..um, well all I'll say is when Trixi's guests start arriving the night before the party, ya gotta watch. yep.I saw her actually in Vegas in 1996Pitiful thing was, she was performing free in a lounge at a bar in Harrah's.She's still beautiful to me with gorgeous silver hair but her voice..oh golly.I see the footage from her haydays in Vegas at the Sands with ex hubby Louis Prima and it made me sad to see her venue.
Last time I saw her (and it was recently) she was 80 something, had the same haircut died dark black (did you know she is part Cherokee?) and these big red blotches on her cheeks. Talk about scary! Did you know she acted some too? Ever see Thunder Road? She could NEVER be as terrif as Trixi though....
I did know she was part cherokee. On the cable tv I listen to 'singers and standards' which is just a music station and gives you little snippets of info for the vocalist. Oh jet black and ruddy cheeks. She had put on quite a bit of weight when I saw her. still a lovely voice. never did see any of her acting.
check out Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum. I think it was made in '57 or '58. She plays his nightclub singer girlfriend and he is a shine runner. Mitchum was doing really well then and put a lot of people he wanted to help out in the film including his little brother. You will recognize the theme song... Bless her heart (and I ADORE Keely), the poor girl wasn't much of an actress.
Thunder was his engine, and white lightning was his load. There was moonshine, moonshine to quench the Devil's thirst. The law they swore they'd get him, but the Devil got him first.

The house looks good, but then you ought to see our place (NOT). When's the next summer pool party?

Really! It IS a huge mess. I haven't had a pool party in so long.... I think I'll do one of the back yard for before and after too!

Thanks! When it's "together" it is fairly cool. Right now it is an obstacle course!
