  • Wow! Very late '70's! Reminds of me of the awesome music floating on the airwaves when I was a kid!

  • I was looking 4 a band called Redwing, who I understand are quite good. Instead, I found this.

    Quite beautiful.

  • I loved this song but i didn't understand the meaning of it can i get an answer

  • @ashwrt12 "We are tiny, we are trembling, Scared of everything. But the heart is still a red wing."

The song is about faith and how we can keep going in spite of all the bad around us. The heart is still a red wing...beating.

  • We'd love to see them in the Pacific Northwest as well! I understand they've lost a member and have heard nothing about a replacement. Anyone else have any news? Yes, I agree, the video is low budge and simple but, it fits the tune fine and shows the band at work in their element.

  • Exquisite music; truly terrible video

  • Exquisite music; truly terrible video

  • Lovelovelovelovelovelovelove...

  • something about them just connects... you just can't help but drift to your own world when hearing them...

  • I found Hem a few years back and I still love to listen to them. How their first album came to be is an interesting story. And no, I am not going to tell you..

  • I also found out about this group by accident, via their lovely cover of Fountains of Wayne's "Radiation Vibe".

Redwing is my fav song and I really recommend buying the whole album, Eveningland, which I did today on iTunes.

  • Sally Ellyson`s voice is so beautiful I`d still listen to her even if the songs weren`t as good as they are. Luckily the songs and the music are worthy of the vocals.

  • I received a copy of "Rabbit Songs" before it came out as a promo and have been hooked since.

If you like this group you should also check out Eddi Reader, Fairground Attraction and The Pernice Brothers.

    Great feel-good music.

  • Pure voice, a dream.

  • Such a lovely voice...ethereal musicians...once you hear them you're hooked...

  • found this group by accident today...blown away by the vocals this is another song to mark my summer....

  • I love this band. I wish they would come to Canada one day. I discovered them by accident, while reading an article on the "countrypolitan-sound" in the New York Times Sunday magazine. I bought Eveningland (and everything else) and never looked back. Sigh...

  • Yes, yes, yes!

    Hem.

Just keeps getting better, and better.

    Acoustic ballet.

  • funny part, my last name is Hem:S

  • The first time I ever heard HEM was on the bad girls club. It was Not California. Which this was just recently. And the song gave me goosebumps--more or less, this girls voice gave me goosebumps. She's a beautiful voice. Every next song I hear I love right off the bat just the same. They are magic.

  • HEM is without a doubt one of the best bands around. The more you hear the more you want to hear. Please, if you guys read these posting consider touring in the Mid West. Some of the best songs I have heard in many many years.

  • I was lucky enough to discover Hem shortly after the release of Rabbit Songs. That record got me through the depression of 911. I have loved their music ever since and Rabbit Songs is one of the 10 I would take away to the deserted island

  • This song is like a bad drug... It's addicting! Every time I happen to listen to it, I find myself running around the rest of the day hummin" it to myself. I can't get it out of my head. Help! I need therapy!...."Jagar"

  • heard hem on the radio a time ago and remained in my head. got an album recently and what a band. one thing i wonder is commonplace to compare the singer to Karen Carpenter. Im not a big Carpenters fan but i think everyone knows the singer Karen was. I dont even know this ladies name but to me her voice is a beautiful as karen's. I suppose this has been been said before.

  • It has been said a few times before. Sally Ellyson is a special singer!

  • I'm new to Hem, I just heard them for the first time from that Liberty Mutual commercial lol, but so far, all of the songs I've heard from them has this calming affect to it..It's like, no matter how terrible a day you've had, when you sit down and listen to their songs, you think "life's good."

  • I am a newcomer to Hem, but I am hooked on everything I have heard from them.

  • I think I've support HEM by purchasing every CD and (OOP) electron they have for sale (Amazon has it all).

They are the greatest compliment of musicians I've ever had the opportunity to listen to.

    Very nice.

  • A nice song to listen in the fall.

  • I am continually amazed and have never grown tired of any song off of any album. I have been listening to Hem for over 4 years now, and they mean a great deal to me. Every album is a treasure.

  • yep, all three of their albums are great, rabbit songs, funnel cloud and eveningland all are very very good, BUY THEM!!! these folks deserve to be rich

  • wow!...i am stunned that such beautiful music has not shown up on my radar before now!...i am loving this!...namaste'...wally ~8-]

  • Absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!

  • I really like this! Not what I expected, but it was very nice!

  • Excellent songwriting.

  • ah man, I saw them live in boston. they're amazing.

  • I saw them open for Beth Orton in St Louis a few years back...they are amazing.

  • now it's 2 artists. Feist I saw on an apple commercial and now Hem on Liberty Mutual These guys right great songs fantastic

  • oh yeah? well, i've loved Hem since i heard them on NPR FIVE years ago!!! so there. i'm better than all of you.

  • Liberty Mutual is avery good company.

  • My favorite band since '02, when I first heard Half-Acre on a CMJ New Music Monthly compilation.

  • This is probably my favorite band since I found them about a year ago. I just wish they would put out more albums!

  • after I saw that liberty mutual commercial and found this band, I have really gotten into their sound. Very relaxed and superb sound.

  • Great band to listen to when ur in a tender mood. This songs a little more Pop than their first album (which I preferred) but still good.

  • Wrong. Their first album has Idle and Half Acre on it---both songs with a very similar "feel" to this one. This song isn't any more "Pop" than those are.

  • Just my opinion. Opinons aren't right or wrong, in my opinion.

  • That's the irony of it, isn't it, Douche? You're a time wasting ass-monkey retard...that's my opinion.

  • Love the band!

  • Love the song!
