  • Considering that you worked at such a small scale and the photos you used for reference, I think it does resemble a younger AJ. The way we see her now, her face and nose are more slender, her chin more defined, the eyes more cat-like slanted, the eyebrows a sharper angle. All in all tho, this is a pretty face!!

  • wow u r good!

  • Very talented :-)

  • Looks just like tori amos instead which is better imo :P

  • I'm amazed. That was pure creative genius. Not trying to be flattering but you're amazing. The end result is 70% Angelina Jolie, 30% Jacqueline Bisset. Nice job.

  • i would of look alot better with hair made out of clay also

  • This is really good work on that small of a scale! Hope your still sculpting! Thumbs up form me..

  • I think it does look like AJ! Great job!

  • I think you got the mouth dead on! The nose is a bit off as are the eyes but you couldn't have pegged the mouth any better if you tried.

  • I see the resemblance but only in details, not in the overall look. I think it has a lot to do with the original shape of the face - Angelina's is square, and your head has a very steep jawline resulting in an almost heart shaped face. But apart from that you are very good, indeed, and do not give up - in sculpting you learn most by doing..

  • Well I think there is a strong resemblance to AJ. Beautiful in any case. Great job!

  • I like it. I think you did a wonderful job for your first. My only suggestion is to maybe hold the head up closer to the camera after each step. It allows those who are trying to learn, to get a closer look :) Good job.

  • nothing like her. amazing work though!

  • i really liked your video

  • Awesome. Very talented.

  • don't doubt your self you are a great sculpture!!!!

  • you move damned fast. bruce lee would be proud.

  • I love it, thanks for sharing

  • i think it looks like her..u did a great job!!

  • incredible !!!!!

  • Bravo! Clap,clap,clap,clap!!!

  • excelent¡¡¡ beautiful job,congratulation.from argentina

  • very good.

  • nice!

  • no c parece pero es una excelente muñeca (y) very good

  • good work im starting school to sculpt better in jan. very inspiring

  • 1:35 haha nice timing :)

  • Could you make Lady GaGa?

  • Not bad....

  • Wow great job!

  • LOOKS LIKE HER!

  • De barbie doll version of angie...

  • I don't think it looks like Angie, but it's nice work.

  • lovely work, just one thing, i did not like the colour of her shoes.

  • Most these people could not recognize A. J. if they were standing in line at the back with her.....Although there are some<differences reduced to scare its excellent!

  • wow you're good at this....i didnt even care if it looked like her or not...(although it does)....its just so cool how you saw ever little detail....good job!

  • beautiful

  • Even though the doll has not much resemblance, I'm stunned by your work. I wonder if you have baked the head before you paint it or after, or if you sculp, bake, paint yhen bake again. Thank you so much for this video. Keep on with this great work.

  • Thank you. I bake after I've finished sculpting and then paint. Genesis requires the bake after painting. So I rebake to set the paint.

  • It's very kind of you answering all tour questions. thank you very much for all those tips. I am waiting for the "hair video", really curious to find ot how you made it.

  • I thought it looked nothing like Angelina at all. Sorry.

  • Thanks for commenting. I didn't think that it would look exactly like Angelina Jolie, I think I mentioned in the video that I'm NOT a portrait sculptor that this was in fact my first attempt. No need to be sorry...I look at it sometimes and think the same thing..other times I can see the resemblance.

  • @sopho25

Wow.. I think your a douche.. Sorry!!

  • genesis heat oil paints? is that just like normal oil paint that you buy at the shops? how much does it differ to acrylic when painting on polymer?

  • Acrylic is water based so it will air dry and if painted onto polymer to thickly it may peel. The Genesis heat set is oil based and does not dry unless it reaches a certain temperature. Regular oil paint will not dry properly on the clay(even baked) and may actually start to soften the baked clay. Unfortunately the Genesis is pretty expensive unless you can find it on sale. Once in a while a sample set on Ebay comes up for sale. I bought mine on closeout at a hobby store.

  • amazing!

  • omg that is absolutely stunning! I've just started trying to sculpt things using polymer clay... i made one of those miniature babies it's turned out pretty good but I am no where near as good as that! I think i'm better at things on a larger scale lolz i find it easier to work with than smaller things... especially when painting them i smudge and smear paint everywhere =( maybe its because i'm left handed lolz

  • I'm left handed and its not that hard. But I do smudge my sketches when I draw.

  • OMG! you are really good 100%

  • i would have liked to see how you did the hair?

but you did an amzing job! its not 100% jolie's face which is what i really like about the finished product...keep doing your thing! cant wait for more of your videos!

  • magic!!!

  • Amazing! However, I think you should style the hair differently. That long frizzy stuff destroys the look. Amazing work though 5/5

  • very talented. As a constructive opinion, her nose is a little bit larger than Angelina´s.

  • Thank you.

  • very close! whats that molding stick u use with the rubber thingy at the tip of it called?

  • It is a gum massager (as in teeth :D.) You can find it in some pharmacies. I straitened out the bend in the handle.

  • It's amazing!! You are an artist!!

  • you are absolutely amazing! i've just recently become addicted to polymer clay and have been wanting to do faces. It's gonna take me awhile before i get as good as you though! bravo!

  • U have such a natural gift 4 sculptin...luv it! x

  • you're awesome i wish i could sculpt as good as you one day. i love art and i have some super sculpey at hope that i use but i will never be as good as you, weel done :)

  • Thank you. Practice, make an eye then squoosh it, then make a nose, and squish it, then make a mouth...etc. Find different websites that show different techniques and Practice them. You should've seen my first pieces, you'd have fallen out of your chair from laughing so hard...lol.

  • Do you do additive sculpting, or subtractive sculpting? I'm always looking for good tutorials to make heads. You are amazing, I hope I can learn to be as good as you! great tutorial!

  • Thank you :). I started out with additive. But I found that moving the clay more than adding or subtracting works best for me on the head...I start with what I feel I need and make it work. On the body I add clay and smooth it as I go, Alot of artists would recommend not using additive esp with polymer because it can create air bubbles which will show up after baking this is what is known as "moonies" in the polymer clay world.

  • Aaaahh, yes. Moonies. darn, darn, darn, darn, DARN moonies. I do find that to be a problem with polymer clay. How do you manage to work around that? I found that when you cover the clay, if you can see any visible bubbles, then you should puncture them with an X-acto blade, then smooth out the cut. Thanks for the advice!

  • working with a lighter clay (ie-add some white to super sculpey) seems to help with visible moonies. Super sculpey or other translucent beige clays seem to be the worst so add a pinch of white, the moonies will sometimes still be there but not as visible. You can attempt to cut and fill them in after baking as well, but if the clay darkens with bakes like SS then that is not a best solution...it is the bane of a polymer clay artist..lol

  • hi christy which paint color do I need for male lips?

  • I would keep it pretty close to flesh tones. Genesis paints have premixed flesh tones, maybe with a dab of burnt umber. Or a very tiny hint of a med pink color in a wash using the glazing gel. I would do a wash of colors (such as I did at the beginning of this video over the entire face), but keeping it at the lip area. If you apply a coat of paint you risk it looking as though he is wearing lipstick...hope this helps.

  • No experience in sculpting my ass!

  • no, I have experience in sculpting..."no formal training"...I am self taught. lol...sorry for the confusion.

  • Generally people are more proficient at the arts when self-taught.. Great work.. I'm an artist my self.

  • How you add the hair is what I meant.

I've got a few bald sculptures because I haven't been able to find information on how to set/add the hair in polymer.

Lots of fun to watch you work. LOTS of useful tips I didn't know before!

  • I haven't made a video of the hair because I usually have to do it over 3 or 4 times to get it decent..lol. Glad you liked my videos. I'm working on a full sculpt now maybe when it comes time to do the hair I'll record it.:D

  • I would love to see a video of how you set the hair.

  • I THINK .. IT IS FABULOUS!!!! WOW!!! You ROCK!!

  • great work, i was getting sick from all the others doing babies, thx for sharing.

  • OMG it was bugging me that you didnt seem to have confidence.. the finished product was AWESOME! I loved it. I understand you dont wanna be like "I'm experienced" but damn that is better than what most people can even ATTEMPT

cant wait for the next vid.. keep practicing famous ppl PLEASE :)

  • Thank you.

  • very nice is greate to see such a god job in such a tiny thing

  • thank you :D.

  • wow..!!

    great job!

  • thank you :D.

  • just watched both parts, excellent work

You don't need to sell yourself short, you're a talented sculptor, no need to justify it

    Keep it up!

btw you used acrylics at the end, why not for the entire job?

  • Thanks, Polymer clay is oil based, the genesis heat set paints are oil based so it sticks much better than the acrylics, unfortunately, oil based varathane will cause the clay to soften even after being baked...so I reinforced some lines with the black acrylic and then the clear glaze to finish it off.

  • Very Very Cool!!!

  • thank you! :)

  • What brand of clay did you use?

  • it's a mix of polymer clay SS, Premo, and Cernit. I don't like any of them straight from the package so I mix them.

  • holy crap!!! lol that was awesome, how long did it take in total to make her?

  • thanx lol. I didn't time it, it usually takes me about 20 minutes to make a face, but I had to work a bit more to get the details on this one...maybe 40 minutes to an hour.

  • wow, have just watched the two tapes....how talented are you!!! it looks just like Angelina.....wish I was that talented...thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you :D.

  • Thank you for your comments :D Sorry I was so late in responding.

  • Wow!!! I think you succeeded!!! She looks like Angelina Jolie!!! Wonderful job!!! I enjoyed watching!!!

  • You're pretty talented to create something that detailed with something so small. Bravo!
