I cant believe people still dont like this aircraft. It's only because it's design is new, un-orthadox and unique. People usually dislike things that are out of the ordinary norm...i think it is a beautfial technological achievement and will be the new start that opens the doors to large carriers for the future, with less impact o the planet and less congestion in the air and on the ground. Airbus have made what can only be described as the future for our new generations!!
Actually i do admire the design of the plane and amazed about the technological advantage of being a massive structure but in defense for the people who dislike the plane the only main reason is because it is scary as hell to imagine what if a plane .. like this HUGE crash and imagine 550 passengers in a single crash would wipe out and those 4 engines to blow....
thats why we dislike this yet nothings perfect and you can never guarantee how safe is this plane. No one can.
@KimberIie Although it is that big,its wing span will keep it in the air & plus.if all engines were to stop, it has something called a RAM air turbine, so with the huge flex of the wings, it will act like a glider, while the temporary turbine will get it to a decent speed & as it loses fuel to lose weight...like a few jets that have lost engine power in the past, theyre able to glide in to a perfectly safe stop, even if the aircraft becomes a write off.
@LaminaDieWills do you realise how small a RAM turbine is? it doesn't do anything to create thrust, it's for generating electrical power for the systems
@ellzyss I didnt say it was used for thrust. it just enables the hydrolic systems to keep working and the oxygen to keep flowing round the cabin...and of course to power the flight deck. plus it can be used to re-fire the engines if the batteries are dead etc cos im not sure if you can start an apu in mid air!!
@KimberIie How ironic that a QANTAS A380 should have an engine explode and cause an emergnecy landing shortly after we spoke on here!! it was definitely volcanic hot ash....because it was flying over that indonesian region...and a QANTAS 747 flew the exact same path and one of its engines exploded aswell, just 2 days after!! phew lol. a380 rep intact haha
i think all of the airlines that have a a380 land at heathrow, every single a380 lands( qantas, emirates, singapore and not yet lufthansa) i don't know about air france do they ?
@mcpcshowcaseHD i guess that maybe so... but I also think that airports will struggle to cope with immigration and luggage faciliites that the A380 demand. it takes about 2 hours in the least to go through a 777-200LR, just imagine how long an A380 will take.
@dylanmoran123 The A380 can be turned around in the industry standard 90 minutes. I've regularly seen the Emirates A380 turned around in 90-120 minutes at Heathrow. The SIA and QANTAS A380's tend to stay on the ground a while longer because they aren't scheduled to leave until later in the day having arrived very early.
The 747 had its doubters when that was launched and look how successful its become over 40 years.
@mcpcshowcaseHD That program proves all you've just said, It was called World's Biggest Airliner and was on Discovery. It obviously has to meet the standards or it wouldn't have been certified lol :)
When u dont see the cockpit window, it looks like a bigger sized A340, with tghe window it looks like an A340 with its windows shrinked, but when u look at it properly, thats an A380
You mean the fog over the wings? That's from the pressure dropping. If you adiabaticly lower the air pressure, the temperature also drops which makes the water droplets fall out as fog. That only works on very humid days, so in dry air you dont see it.
I have some videos in the pipeline of 777s exhibiting this stunning effect as they depart Heathrow from runway 09R - keep a look out over the next few weeks :0)
wow nice video. thats the exact place i got my shot of the singapore a380. north perimeter road? when you see it you understand how incredible it is. great video!! :)
I bet everytime you want to go to other country you would look for Singapore Airlines :D!!

The A380 is sooo quiet when it takes off...Alot quieter when it's landing. So quiet it's almost boring.

Condensation on the wings is amazing.
eclipse245 2 years ago
even though it isn't, the 747 always looks longer than an a380
Updation 2 years ago
thats because the 747 is slimmer which gives the effect that its longer than the a380.
youngplainjuan 2 years ago
@Updation either way, the 747-400 and 747-8 is always more graceful than the ugly A380...

@dylanmoran123 you can stick to you old shitty 747

Nice video! I think the wing effect was because of the "Jet wash" from the engines, it distorts visibility.
