I'm glad that Jewel came along in the 90's, but I wonder what her career would have looked like if she came along during the folk music scene of the 60's (i.e., the singer/songwriter with a message era). She sings so beautifully and her lyrics are tight. I read an earlier post saying that she was becoming another Dolly Parton (who is genuinely talented in her own way). Jewel, however, is no Dolly Parton. She seems to have had at least one profoundly creative phase to her career. Bravo, Jewel.
