Tilly was a runt feral cat when we got her and was also scrappy. Now she is a heavy 8 lbs. and Joy is almost 50 lbs. and they wrestle all the time. They're so much fun!
lol how cute when my 1 year and 6 months old cat (she is a runt and very brave) meet the new puppy she had to be in a cage or in my room cause every seconced she got she would littierly attack him. it was soo funny and now they will almost touch noses(if the dog is calm) and if the dog starts barking at her she will hunt him and chaese him around the house it is so funny
Don't know if anyone ever looks back at these comments but Joy did manager to break the cartiledge in Tilly's ear which left her with a flopped down ear after $200 vet bill to straighten ear. The two, now more than 2 years old, still wrestle daily. If the dog doesn't start it, the cat will. Such fun!
that scared me at first when the cat swiped at the puppy b/c when we first brought my puppy home, he tried to meet my cat, he followed her and cornered her in a chair, she swiped at him, and scratched his eye. it was rly sad :( cute pets, tho :)
What a beautiful cat! She's a calico. Calico means large patches of black, white and orange. Tortoiseshell is when the balck orange and white are sort of swirled together and marbelized.
That cat does not look afraid. When it runs and lays with tail wagging... that is a play stance. She is curious and looks happy to have a friend. I bet they get along just fine and maybe you catch them in a deep cuddle once in a while too. If that cat was afraid, she would look like a blow fish and you would have heard yowling. Neat video.
Thank you for your comments. We returned today from a two week camping/fishing trip with "girls". They are the best of friends and we often find the cat snuggled between the front legs of the dog.

could be a strange type of Tortoiseshell. the American shorthair juts refers to the body-type. some people like to put further sub catergories when it comes to colours. she has such strange markings though. v cute.
when my cat met my brothers puppy, my cat jumped about 5 feet in the air and the puppy was so confused (she had never seen a cat before) it just tilted its head. the only one who didnt think it was cute was my cat. but lily (my cat) eventually got over it

We call her a calico but I don't know anything about cats. She is a stray from the Humane Society but as fine a cat as we've ever owned.

Yes, Joy and Tilly are best buddies although Joy now weighs 45 pounds and Tilly stayed at 7 pounds. They still wrestle without hurting each other.
