The Blazers announced Wednesday night that Greg Oden(notes), who has yet to play in a game this season, will undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee this Friday and miss the rest of the season. In case you forgot, Oden also missed his entire rookie season due to microfracture surgery, although that was on his right knee.

This is the third time Oden has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Just the fact that he'll come in and give us SOME sort of inside presence when we have absolutely NONE at all makes him a good pick. Kevin Durant on this team wouldn't make us any better. yeah Portland is a pretty white city. Some of the black players from cities with a lot of black people have difficulty adjusting and fitting in to the culture. Oden was raised in Indiana though, so I think he's comfortable in areas that are predominantly white.
