@hialeahdude Yeah I have to find a new steering column and somehow get the old one out and new one in at the side of the road outside my house.
I can't move the ignition at all since its all busted up I can't it into "RUN" so I can at least shift it out of park that's my biggest concern at the moment because I can hot wire it fairly easy but dose me no good if I can't shift it out of park lol.

@hialeahdude Yes it will, they where limited to an 85mph speedometer by the government as an effort to keep people from speeding.
I have had the car upto what I would guess was 100-105mph the needle was showing up in the area for the gas gauge, if you look behind those instrument clusters they are completely open.
I got a 78 Cutlass with the 260,Even with 105 hp and 205 lb·ft torque I find myself accidently cruising 70 alot.They are just so smooth and durable which is why I think they are alot better than the 3.8 v6 even with 110hp(they don't list the torque)they ain't as fast and I think they use more gas,they have a uneven firing pattern which is why they just ain't as good anyway you look at it.There oil pumps are junk too but very easy to fix.The turbos are a diff story ;)
The night run I did was alot faster and funny thing is if I have over 1/2 tank but under 3/4 I go the fastest its weird I put some tank fuel line and fuel pump and carb cleaner in my gas tank and iv been using some spary carb cleaner both worked wonders with the new distributor cap plugs and wires + a clean carb my cars running like a champ
What surprised me is the other day I got on my cutlass and I manual shifted it,well It sounded like a 4barrel was kicked in but I shifted to 2nd right before the motor was wound out so it still had some torque and it chirped second gear hardcore,now I'm worried that the group of people that witnessed that is gonna think I have a nice engine in it and steal it.But that was just perfect and luck I could probably never get it to chirp 2nd again
iv had that happen to me to it sounds like its not in gear and the rpms build up and then it kicks into gear mine has not been doing it lately since I changed the transmission fluid
Thats not really what mine did,I just shifted at the perfect time were it had the torque curve right in the perfect spot and it shifted like I had a shift kit.What you just said about yours sounds like the vacume module,they just pop in the side of the tranny,we do have to be careful with pushing our trannys cause we have th200s and they are weak,if you ever have to replace your tranny put a turbo 350 in it they fit just the same in every way but alot stronger andfaster cause 1st last longer
I know trust me I worry about it daily buy my buddies dad has an 88 Comaro that's useless but the engine and tranny only have 75,000 miles and I think it has a 700r4 in it that he had built back in the day. so i'm think'n about a bad ass engine swap :P no more controlled fuel leak aka carb.
