i started dancing tango after seeing the movie; True Lies. It's been 10 years now and i still call myself a beginner even though people say i'm really good. It amazes me still how much i don't know.
I love these videos, I've been taking lessons from professional instructors and it's always enjoyable to see tango learning videos. No matter if its helpful or not, at least you know what is what. I am going to ask my teacher about this move tonight, maybe they can teach me more carefully with practice. =) Thanks for posting this.
While learning ANY dance step, one must start at the basics if you want to understand the movement and flow. Taking lessons to do so correctly is not wrong of me to say. And you are agreeing with me about listening to the rythm to follow the beat. All in all, it's all about having fun and being the best you can be. My teacher is awesome, and so is my partner in life. We are experts at swing(because of awesome instruction), but just learning basic tango now.
In regards to Argentinian Tango, Juliette might be right. This is only useful for someone taking professional lessons to review the moves. Trying to learn complicated dance moves without a professional instructor will only lead to making a complete fool of yourself on the dance floor. Timing and following the beat to the music is critical.
You are not right publishing that. The tango bases 8 is tango with technique, in which the man learns how to take to the woman and the woman to be taken. And it is not for professionals, neither complicated, for that reason the lessons go enumerated, for beginners, therefore it doesn´t make you fool, and any person that dances any rhythm, have to use the hearing to move its feet. Myrrh
I've had about eights live lesson with a teacher, these videos are perfect for the beginner to analyze and practice the basic moves, Excellent postures and clearly recorded.

this is completely useless. In fact, you cant learn anything by just watching a dvd. If you want to dance tango, and do it well, go to a teacher. This video is for people who think that tango is easy to dance.
Julieta.. tango is a dance of love.. you have to feel it from inside.. the first man who invented tango did not learn it from anyone.. I notice that most of your comments on tango dance here in you tube are very pessimistic.. like as if you are the best tango dancer in the world! I don't think anybody cares!! duh!!

hahaha who invented tango?? a man? sorry, but the creation of tango was a process that took many years and not only one man. Of course you have to feel it from inside to dance it but do you think you can learn it from a tape? I am not pessimistic, i just see in You Tube a lot of videos that are not good.
Julieta, you understand that you're picking on the title, not content? This is not useless if you are already taking lessons. This is a good supplement to live lessons, this works as a reminder and gives a clear picture.
Obviously, you can't learn tango by watching youtube lessons, but by pointing that out here in comments you act like you think everyone around is an idiot.
I agree with Juliette... This is all about learning steps, but tango is not "steps" it has to do first with the communication between the parteners and second the technique. And if we see you dancing we can tell if you' ve learnt dancing from a dvd
