@SnowLeopardStudioz I would recommend you check out Simi Valley, California. It's in Ventura County about 25-miles northwest of Los Angeles. It's a really nice location. Of course I can't tell you what it will be like in 10 years, that's a long time, LOL! But as for now, it's nice. Avoid Los Angeles, its a different world over there. Marina del Rey is nice. The "West Side" of Los Angeles, like Westwood, Santa Monica, or Malibu further up the coast, but it's very pricey.

If you do move here there's always one thing that everyone always leaves out when telling newcomers about LA. This is especially important since you're coming from Australia. You're body is going to have to get used to the pollution here. It's different for everyone but usually you'll get allergies, have shortness of breath, and maybe a sore throat for a while. Has anyone ever flown over LA during the day? We're covered in a brown bubble-like cloud. It's really sad.

Also, there are good places to shop and great places to eat. But the best part is that there will always be a breeze from the pacific ocean so the weather there is always around 20 degrees Celsius! Hope you'll enjoy your life more in LA!

@SnowLeopardStudioz No, I do not live there, but I always go there during the summer. well, stuff like that is really hard to predict... what I can tell you is that the price for condos and townhouses are dropping currently, so i can probably say that after 10 years westwood will still have a decent price range for condos. Santa Monica has a higher price for townhouses and condos though. I've never been to Sydney, but I think that west LA is a great place to live.

@nilramforever Sydney's not perfect in the suburbs etc. south of the harbour and west of the airport is not nice, disgusting really. And anywhere north of the parramatta river and west of castle hill isn't nice either. Try near Kensington, Epping, North Shore and the northern beaches are particularly nice but the nicest imo is Baulkham Hills Castle Hill area :) good luck!!!

@SnowLeopardStudioz Los Angeles is fantastic to visit, but terrible to live in or around. Check out San Diego's beach cities (Carlsbad, Oceanside, Point Loma, Encinitas, etc). This is coming from a person who's had a good amount of experience in both- I'd live in the worst part of San Diego before the best part of L.A. There's just no really 'nice' part of L.A. to live in
