  • this guys a really bad drummer

  • There are tutorials for making Electronic cymbals from cheap cymbals as well. Only takes a few bucks worth of parts.. Sure you also need a drum brain but you can get an Alesis DM4 or DM5 for 100 bucks or less and it opens up a whole world of possibilities as a drummer! :)

  • wow, if I turn a cymbal upside down, it's a china! Seriously, 4:55 ~ oddest "rhythm" I have ever heard.

  • @jockamofeena That's because China is on the other side of the World if THEY turn a cymbal upside down it sounds like America..

  • ...... -_-

  • chris griffin?

  • he looks like a crepy porn star

  • your song sounds like Tenacious D

  • What potato of brand did you film to use this?

  • Im Sure you lack the Qualifications to be Making Drum Cymbals.

  • @TESKeenGuy ^^^^

  • 1:59 "make out on the cymbal"!

    lolol

  • @TheSupergabi9 what are you? 12? grow up -__-

  • nice video, nice accent. cheers!

  • Dude.... Buy a freakin equalizer and either Lo pass or cut the mids dude.... and the highs... ...or do both...

  • lol is this a joke?

  • @dustyowl99 Insert "YO Mama" joke! LOL!

  • I've heard that the LESS rivets you put in a cymbal, the MORE it actually sizzles (I've heard THREE is the beauty number for optimum sizzle)

  • @PacisVictus Makes sense! Thanks for your input it is appreciated!

  • Jack Black?

  • @MrBenGarcia Sho Nuff!

  • @ShawnCorytube Nah Squidward

  • Lol I want to do this to my Paiste. which is ironically the same model as you have below your effects cymbal.

  • dude you suck... im sorry but you suck..... practice practice practice

  • i found for making a china cymbal make the cymbal flip (pretty simple, just put it on the ground bell up and step and leave all your weight on the bell) then when the cymbal is "reversed" take a hammer and pound the bell in on itself so the bell is basically opposite of how it was...it gives the cymbal a more realistic "china cymbal" look, and sounds better :D (although how they could possibly sound worse is beyond me xD )

  • Paiste PST3 3 pakc? i started with those, i still have the hats and ride.

  • dude what a great idea i think im gonna do this with my sixteen inch crash that came with my set. honestly though,. i think that cymbal would sound better with metal or something like that instead of some weird beat idk haha nice idea bro

  • BAWWWWWWWSTONNNNNNN

  • ill do this with the piece of shit cymbals that my set came with

  • dont go crazy drilling those holes

  • u suck at drums...js

  • @MrMusicIsMyLife69 Correction I did suck at drums this video is older when I was first starting out. Just sayin'

  • @ShawnCorytube alright i understand. we all start out somewhere

  • @MrMusicIsMyLife69 What does js mean? I can only think of a couple things, "JavaScript" and "Just stop". What does it really mean?

  • @kittyhumor Just Saying

  • @MrMusicIsMyLife69 Thanks. I can't believe I couldn't think of that.

  • NICE!! i totally dig it i'll try that also why would anyone be such a dick to throw away a cymbal even if it's some of the begginer cymbal's that come with the drum. for me it was pretty hard getting cymbal's and if i really didin't need them ill give to some one or musicians charity or something :P just a little fact i wanted to add GREAT IDEA DUDE nice to knoe theres still some plp that think out there

  • @Huargos1 Thanks glad you liked it! Right on!

  • @ShawnCorytube you kick ass cory XD!! REALLY DIG IN YOUR TUBE

  • I did this with my old hihats back in '99, when I got my new Ziljians, but I put the rivets just along the outer rim and they sound pretty damn good.

  • @CherryONeil Nice! Yeah it is cool what you can do with old stuff to have fun with it!

  • Is that PST3 underneath your cymbal?

  • @jamman1125 Yes it is. I like it!

  • @ShawnCorytube Yeah i think the set is awesome.

  • Hey, what part of the states are you from? I really like your accent, i'm British so I have no clue! ha!

  • @Helslinky I am a New Englandah! Originally from Massachusetts....

  • @Helslinky Britain Sucks we pwned ur ass in The Revolution

  • @101point5TMG lolz hahaha made my day

  • @101point5TMG True true, well done.

  • @Helslinky :D

  • sweet idea dude,im of to the hardware store right now to get me some rivets...

  • @sharniabbi Cool! How did it come out?

  • Like that cymbal, good idea. My very first ride cymbal was a used zildjian that came with my set of Dixon's and it had rivets in it. I absolutely hated it, but this hi hat used as an effect crash sounds much better. And yes I've seen people take one of the hi hats and kind of flip the bell part inside out and use it as a china, also a good idea to save some cash and get a nice little effects cymbal out ot it.

  • @BIGREDDOG09 Thanks a lot, and thanks for watching.

  • Cool cymbal dude! Your bass drum sounds like a fart though.

  • Where did you buy the rivets?

  • @DrumEmaHer0 I got them at the local hardware store!

  • thumbs up for the accent! ;D

  • @JeffreyDrumpants Thank You!

  • thx for ur presentation "ShawnCorytube" the idea was very cool!..& ur absolutely right..never trash ur unused equipment..cause u never knw wen u need'um!..Bless ya Dude! =0)

  • @tornmask Thank You! Bless you too!

  • get proper sizzle rivets on ebay!!!! they'll work better man

  • @alexinferno13 I didn't know they had them. Cool! Thanks I will check that out! Thanks!

  • sounds good dude, does give it a different sound. i do like it

  • @angelo062367 Thanks glad you liked it!

  • bro, keep going, don't stop! nice video, thanx 4 sharing. Good way to recycle a cymbal into one producing a usable sound. ;-)

  • @foketesz Thanks! I always appreciate positive comments and appreciation for fine art! LOL! Have a great day!

  • LOL, "I like to just tke my stick and run it down it" AHAHAHAHAAH =P

  • YOU CAN USE IT TO PUTT THE PIZZA ON IT, LIKE A DISH... JAJAJAJA IT'S SOUNDS TERRIBLE!!!

  • where do u get rivets from?

  • @bigxjon91 I got mine at the local hardware store. Thanks for watching!

  • yea, we did that at my school to crashes that were getting cracked and we drilled holes in them and now they sound like little gongs xD

  • This video is from 8 almost 9 months ago. Obviously, I have improved quite a bit on my drumming. People crack me up. Like I am not allowed to do what I want because they say so! :-P

  • First learn to play and then to do shit with cymbals.

  • In the CX200 series, i preffer to throw them away:

-The Hi Hats after 1 month drumming got cracked at the outside points(hope you understand my rough english)

-The ride is some crappy 18 inch cymbal with the worst sound ever, i actually use the only crash i have (started playing 3 and a half months ago so still have a weak drum set)as i was saying, i use the 16 crash as a ride o.O

yeah, its really THAT bad, pearl sucks at making cymbals

  • @joaoa13portugal Agreed! I was not happy with their cymbals!

  • I recently bought a turned down (reduced) Zildjian A custom 15" crash (was 16")... it was a bit dull and heavy so i cut 8 symmetrical 30mm holes around it. then added some rivets just inside those... made a lovely effects cymbal. trashy and alive!

  • do you realize that instead of wasting all this time, you could have just flipped the thing inside out using these tools called your hands and brute force and made a china cymbal?

  • @screamodrummer1234 Yes Exactly I did that with the other high hat cymbal! This was just a creative experiment. Try for a different sound.

  • @ShawnCorytube cool :) i had a messed up crash cymbal (cracked to hell and back) i flipped iy inside out and now its a sizzle china :)

  • @screamodrummer1234 Haha! Thats cool when things work out like that! There are pretty much limitless ways you can create new sounds. That is the fun of it! Thanks for your comments!

  • would this work with a stagg tim cymbal

  • that sound realy dam good

  • it sounds like u have an england accent like half the time, others sound american! nice cymbal!

  • @giveittomeidiot Thanks! You got part of it! I grew up with a mix of ethnic accents so I speak with a variety. i try to correct myself sometimes if I catch it hahaha! Good Job noticing you get a gold star!! Thank You for watching!

  • nice cymbal but you suck at drums

  • @thomascompton800 Yeah I did I am a lot better now thanks!

  • @ShawnCorytube Oh and this was more a sound test video rather than me playing anything.

  • @ShawnCorytube its kool u 2

  • @ShawnCorytube ok i was joking anyway i thought you were just demoing them sorry

  • @thomascompton800 Its cool thanks! :-) Have a great weekend!

  • You sound drunk! :-P

  • take a hammer and hammer down the edges of one. it sounds really funky

  • Sadly i dontthink mine will work this way my old hi hats are so fucked up.. i can bend them and theyll stay..there almost paper

  • I lent an old pair to a friend, when he buys new ones himself I ask them back and try it, but I can't imagine i'd sound anything like a china, but thanx anyway :D I'll definatly try it

  • @PMagazineLoS Yeah it sounds more like a trash can. The funny thing is there is this company that sells sheet metal cymbals and stuff like that to give you a Junkyard sound. Lol! So you can use these cheapy cymbal for what ever if your looking for that sound.

  • looks good, dont really like the sound but thats personal, any idea on how to make it into a good china? i think you just just flip it on its back (if u get what i mean sry for my english:p ) but I'm guessing that would sound anything like a china

  • @PMagazineLoS You got it just flip it around and use it as a china cymbal!

    Thanx

    Shawn
