The ban was a joke to start with. It was not even a ban. They proved in court that there was a real need to control the fox population. So they still allowed shooting and even small groups of dogs to be used to hunt them. So there never really was a ban. The so called ban was just there to appease the media and brained wash do gooders.

Also the fox controls the rodent population a massively impotant function .However foxes in high numbers paradoxically end up lowering fox numbers due to spread of mange , leading to deaths within the population .This causes suffering beyond endurance for the fox .Also in losing many foxes through this disease u also lose the genetically more able n robust fox population - n by "leavig the fox alone"(by not controlling numbers) cause more damage indirectly than people realise .

Also i do not nor would any true animal lover consider the fox "vermin" .They have their place in nature and have every right to be part of english wildlife - however we have in our evolution removed the foxes natural predators n therefore have an obligation to control fox numbers whilst at the same time ensuring the foxes future as a healthy indiginous species .

The legal methods with which u can legally kill a fox under the labour government 1)Traps , snares - hysterically freightened fox trapped n bleeding whilst trying to escape , left for upto 20 hours with no water or food -n when the farmer does show up he has to try n shoot a darting fox ,do u think he can do it in 1 shot - often not ? do u fancy being that fox ?

i understand saying that you want to keep the population down, but so many fox hunters always say you hardly ever catch a fox on the hunt. then how come you still survive so well? i dont disagree with hunting, just the killing. there are alternatives that are so much more kinder. i have seen many drag hunts thrive. if people enjoy the countryside and riding there horse freely, they will pay to hunt. fox or not.
