crane style kung fu is like a soft dance, it's meant for defense in a sense that you don't harm the opponent but tire them out. More advanced practitioners are able to make the movements as fluid as ballet
please watch and comment on my kung fu vids and subscribe just click on my name to get there.......the vid is my friend jordan his a beginning stage and he just finish learning the animal link form
Very nice, man. As far as I can see, your stances are near flawless, your footwork is exceptional, and you can see each individual movement, so the completeness is there. All in all, wonderful crane form.
@polengsantiago He's probably practicing precision with technique over execution speed. When I first started, we actually went ridiculously slow, slower than this. Plus you wouldn't really see what's going on well and figure out the application if it was full speed. :)
tiger, monkey , mantis, crane and more styles to choose from. lolz i chose the mantis cause its the easiest form of art. plus its not that weak from the others while tiger focuses on strength and monkey for athletic and flexibility (flexibility could be athletic?)
Although it looks good, it is something he made up. This is not Crane fist from the Fukien school, nor Tibetan. He has a few video like this. If he actually found a place to learn the real thing, he could be great.
If you learn traditional kung fu like i do, you will learn the 5 animal forms, i guess its up to you which one you prefer and which one you focus on but if you learn white crane then you specialise in white crane, just have a look around and see which style you like the look of
Hey I'm just getting into kung fu and have been researching which style would be best for me and I was wondering what this style really accomplishes. I don't want to sound like an ignorant fool, but judging from this video, its just a little strange to me.
The forms in white crane are made to hone skills in balance, grace and accuracy, for example temple and eye strikes take a lot of practice to get right. the blocks are also fast and look sporadic but are used to block multiple attacks, if you can practice enough, the applications are very useful. Im learning at the moment a northern white crane form its very hard on the legs

I don't think most styles of Kung Fu are really for combat. More or less for exercise and a simple way to stay fit, and to improve balance, I've been doing Bo-Jitsu, Kendo and Karate for seven years and i think i could outclass this Kung Fu. It isn't what actors make it look like in the movies.
dude technically its not called Kung Fu, the actual martial art itself is called Wushu and its one of the oldest martial arts out there, it depends on what type of style of technique you use, for instance an expert at Shotokan can be beaten by an expert at crane and Tiger, but a shotokan can beat the snake and horse stance. all in all it just depends on the individual.
Wushu means Stop-Fight Skill. It is also translated as Martial Art. It is not a new word. Mordern Wushu is the new impractical stuff being taught today mixed with gymnastics. Traditional Wushu is Combat Art. Kung Fu is a term that means you have achieved competence in any kind of skill, art in general.
That is kung fu mate, wushu is competition patterns. Also i dont really understand what your message is getting at, one style is better than another style its the fighter that wins, whos to say a tiger/crane practitioner will always win a shotokan practitioner and vice versa, plus whats horse stance got to do with anything, lots of martial arts use the horse stance in training, Tkd use it, karate use it and snake isnt a stance its a style
Most martial arts don't work in real fights any more. I have a lot of experience with various styles, but can admit that most of what I know isn't practical. I still do it in order to keep the tradition going, but things are much different out of the class. It's even worse now that everyone thinks they can be some MMA brawler with that fad going on.
i dont agree with u. i men just a few weeks ago me and my freinds got in a fight in school because some idiot was traing to buly my litle bro. we beat the shit out of them with taekwondo, judo, kickboxing. every martial art is useful because u get good reflekses
martialarts is more about learning and dispiline and learning and than self defense, oh pro mma or boxing ect not count, lol how bad u beat him up? but not really that funny. could have just told an adult.
In case of a street fight, like with the type of people who swing wildly with their fists? Yeah. Maybe not this exact form, and maybe only a few moves of this form, but Kung Fu will teach you exactly what to do. The moves he's doing with the enormous ranges cover the maximum range for doing that move, the trap, the block, the strike, whatever. If you use the move with only the minimum amount of flourishing, your speed is increased SO much more. Each strike you see in this could also be a block..
If you can't tell this is a made-up form, you are not a martial artist. I agree that it looks better than alot of the other made up crap you see on YT but it is still made up. So, you can turn over those thumbs-down and sit on them.
