Toby Waller was brilliant in this adaptation of The Heart of Darkness. The way he portrayed Shazam Zorro was so flawless. It made me feel as if I was the one visiting the Amazon River with the Proud family. I remember the scene where Shazam Zorro was eating the "fowl fricassee" and drinking the watermelon extract. It felt so real. It felt as if I could relate it to the real world.
I noticed a lot of people cursing and writing negative reviews. This movies is something to open your mind and give you something to go off of. What people fail to realize is that Shaka was only captured in the movie after he defeated the other king. Which shows that blacks fail at the hand of other black people. Shaka Zulu was killed by his 2 half-brothers. When his mother died he wanted everyone to be sad too so he ordered no crops for a year, no milk and all pregnant women and their husbands be killed. Thousands died until one man (Gala) stood up to Shaka and said enough! It's time for the truth on film not this fiction

This is probably the WORST rendition of Shaka Zulu EVER!!! The producers and writers obviously did no research whatsoever other than watch PARTS of the original mini-series. Toby Waller was brilliant in this adaptation of The Heart of Darkness. The way he portrayed Shazam Zorro was so flawless. It made me feel as if I was the one visiting the Amazon River with the Proud family. I remember the scene where Shazam Zorro was eating the "fowl fricassee" and drinking the watermelon extract. It felt so real. It felt as if I could relate it to the real world.

What people fail to realize is that Shaka was only captured in the movie after he defeated the other king. Which shows that blacks fail at the hand of other black people. Henry Cele's performance in this movie was brilliant and I wish he were alive today to make more movies BUT i'm tired of fictional Shaka Zulu movies. Even the real movie is fictional. Shaka Zulu was killed by his 2 half-brothers. When his mother died he wanted everyone to be sad too so he ordered no crops for a year, no milk and all pregnant women and their husbands be killed. Thousands died until one man (Gala) stood up to Shaka and said enough! It's time for the truth on film not this fiction

This is probably the WORST rendition of Shaka Zulu EVER!!! The producers and writers obviously did no research whatsoever other than watch PARTS of the original mini-series. Then they created their own meaningless back story to try and give credence to this dribble. The only thing that was good about this film was Henry Cele although, I am saddened that he agreed to appear in this version of the story. Side note: Why is Grace Jones speaking with a Russian or Eastern European accent? I'm confused
