building and selling these chairs must be an amazing buzz. Knowing that you are helping people do things and experience things they can not must just be amazing.
I would love to eventually be involved in a project like this using my machine skills.
Very cool! I have a question though....wouldnt of tracks been better? Those tires dont look very offroad worthy and tracks help distribute the weight to help keep you on top of soft surfaces like sand. I'd be afraid of getting stuck somewhere. Having said that I've watched this video start to finish and those 'chairs had no trouble dealin' with all the different types of terrain in your demonstration. So I guess maybe my comment is a mute point. :-P Good job!
@CowboyPenner Thanks for your comments. Tracks are good but we use these chairs over rocks,sand,ect and if it was on tracks and one come off then you are up the creak with out a paddle. But I do see the good suff you could do with tracks. Cheers

I'm sure there are lots of scenarios that wouldn't allow it, but wouldn't a lot of the places be more accessible by ATV?, or do the medical conditions of most require a recumbent position.
I guess what I'm saying is, wouldn't it be cheaper to modify an ATV VS building a purpose built vehicle A stock atv could go all those places faster easier, and with many many more times the range VS a battery
Thanks for your thoughts. Not everyone can ride a modifed ATV, These chairs are very easy to operate and go places you can not take ATV's. We have sold lots to farmers who can not ride on farm bikes now but they can still get around the paddocks on our chairs. most Quadrapligics we have in our chairs couldn't sit on a ATV inclueding myself
My only concerne with these all terrain chairs is their range. How much hard terrain can it take? 5km? Only one improvment you need. A winch to pull you out if you get stuck!
If you are paralized you're pretty much stuck anyway?! Was thinking more if you're trekking with friends. It looks like a heavy piece of a machine. I wouldn't be my friends if I got stuck...
WOW! That is GREAT! It about brought tears to my eyes picturing my hubby being able to get around like that. Seeing you do all those things that he used to love to do but can't now in a regular w.chair. Like the guys in the video, he's too young to be stuck in this house like he is. That thing is too cool! Hi, There is plenty of grip on the tires. The speed is walking pace - this chair has a lot of torque. Although the seat does not have tilt like on some electric wheelchairs it can recline back like a car seat, and it is very stable due to the low center of gavity
cool video lads, is there much grip on the tires, and wat is its top speed? the seat doesn't seem to have tilt, is the chair heavy enough to not turn over? thank you.

Nice! Me and my mate were going to build a 4x4 skid steer. But we went for tracks. (For me)
