  • really low budget --- too bad its Joans final feature film , for anyone who wants to see Joan in a great piece directed by Stephen Spielberg ( his 1st job no less ) in the " NIGHT GALLERY "----- great performance ! She was still radiant even at 65 yrs old , unusual for those pre rampant plastic disfigurement of the stars today.... the night gallery is great she wants to see badly , check it out all !

  • how strong's a demon?

  • This is HILARIOUS. It looks like a MadTV skit!!

  • Great movie when I was a kid.

  • ....this is a great movie...actually Trog looks like Christina, a lying troglodyte herself....

  • Poor Joan.

  • I have so many "why" questions, but the first one is : why is that sweaty gay dude wandering a dark cave in his shorts?..

  • ROFLMAO She deserved this after the way she treated her daughter.

  • Don't mention coat hangers!!!!!!!

  • Kubrick was probably not amused.

  • i don't think i believe all the stuff about joan crawford and that mommy dearest nonsense, but if it's true, then this was her just punishment; if, as i suspect, it was a hatchet job, then she's earned her place in heaven.

  • Joan Crawford was a mega star before the term was coined. With a career working with Gable, Dressler, Garbo, Shearer, Cukor, Joan Crawford was either was dead broke or so needy to see herself on screen she took this lame role. Her peers such as Lucille Ball was running Desilu, Kate Hepburn was winning in her later years Oscars, Roz Russell was first billed in films until her Death, but Joan Crawford after Baby Jane got no real big Class A movies. Trog is the nadir of a once great star's career

  • This has got to be the most stupid movie ever made.

  • And this was her last movie? It makes me a little sad this had to be since it looks beyond corny.

  • A police car w/a Royce mold! Lol.

  • Trog lembra muito alguns militantes da esquerda brasileira.

  • "You may want to forget what you see."

I'd imagine that's most people's wish after watching this film.

  • like cristina says...if this was not joans last movie it should have been!

  • Der letzte Tiefpunkt in der Karierre von Joan ......

  • Press 6 as many times as you feel the need. :p

  • Totally

    Realistic

    Organic

    Gorilla

  • Demons got nuthin on Trogs!!!

  • Think I'll sleep with the lights on tonight

  • Half man half ape? But humans are a subcategory of ape. Its like saying "Half Shark, Half Fish"

    DAMN TROG!!!

  • if trog was only half a man with the strength of 20 demons does that mean ur average man has the strength of 40 demons? that sounds like a lot.

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • I swear that's the same mask from 2001... Too bad they couldn't get the rest of the costume.

  • "kill crazy fiend from hell" LOLS!

  • Those bare arms, they couldn't even be bothered to give him a suit, just a mask.

  • In 1932, Joan Crawford was in GRAND HOTEL, in which she gave a better performance than Garbo. How did she wind up in TROG? Even so, she still gave it all she had.

  • Trog, I told you; NO WIRE HANGERS!

  • Comment removed

  • "To vent it's murderous wrath on Mommy Dearest!"

  • @UltimateThanos It's actually Tina in the ape suit...

  • Trog or the Uncle of Schlock!

  • I saw this movie about 40 years ago and it scared the hell'outta me then... I searched for it in the 90's online but no websites were found...I thought Trog looked a lot bigger-N-meaner then...

  • @9milebenson . I am also 45 and my older brother took me to see this at the movie theater when I was 5. It gave me nightmares for weeks and my brother got really busted. It's MST3K material now and laughably bad by today's standards....but even now still when asked what the scariest movie i saw "Trog" is still my answer. The original Nightmare on Elm Street would be my vote as an adult.

  • LOving it Loving it!!!!

  • I was 7 years old at the time and probably considered by Trog a tasty morsal. Thank God for Joan Crawford and her manly ways. I was expecting to see Bela Lugosi any minute.

  • Sorry to see Joan Crawford associated with such a low budget B-movie. And the worst part is that it was her last film. How sad. How dare the Producer even ask her to be in this trash.

  • I saw this turkey in the theater when it first came out. It was terrible 40 years ago.

  • looks great...just like THE BEAST OF HOLLOW MOUNTAIN...far more entertaining that avaturd methinks as well...

  • At least they knew dinosaurs were before man.

Now you got entire museums by major doofuses like ken ham trying to say they lived simultaneously.

  • If you're on Facebook, join my fan page for Trog! Just search Trog Fans.

  • Just to clear things up a bit:

Man has the strength of 10 million ants. The elephant has the strength of 30 men.

The Lesser Demon has the strength of 50 elephants

The Greater Demon has the strength of 100 Lesser Demons

The TROG has the strength of 20 Greater Demons!

  • i have a feeling the dinosaur segments were taken from another film

  • @spiderlime They are. They are from the documentary "The Animal World", whose dinosaurs were animated by the legendary Willis O'Brien and Ray Harryhausen

  • @Tareltonlives

    thanks. i'm not surprised...

  • It's a sad thing that this was Joan's LAST film, ever produced. Granted she answered fan-mail and made television appearances, but for this pile of manuer to have actually been the close-out film of an actress who's given us some of Hollywood's bitchiest, sassiest and glamorous roles, I have to say that I regret it. Even though I hadn't even been born yet, you have to feel sorry that this flick was "the last one."

  • trizzle rocks

  • He's a zany kill-crazy fiend from hell !!

  • RIP Joan Crawford She would have been great in "Hush,Hush, Sweet Charlotte", if she would have completed the film. I think her alcoholism progressed to the point where she felt she had to do this movie for financial reasons.

  • Hey, if I were a big movie star I'd do one of these campy movies for the fun of it!

  • Joan Crawford. An incredible actress. At true great. Even B- sci fi is elevated by her presence- a true great.

  • @rickw1100 This isn't B-grade sci-fi. It's Z-grade!

  • @GusF LOL ! What can I say -she tried.

  • This is a stunning example of how to make a movie.

Hollywood take note. Seriously. I wanna see movies like this.

  • She coulda bested Trog with a coat hanger...

  • The last work I recollect Crawford did was on Rod Serling's "Night Gallery"

A story about a wealthy woman purchasing someone elses eyes to see again.

  • I remember seeing this trailer but not the movie. It slipped into obscurity like so many other sci-fi flicks of the decade.

  • What about Alien?? I'll bet he had some kick-ass demon power!

  • Its sad to think this was Joan's swan song, and how horrible a way to say goodbye. I have this waiting on netflix, just cuz its Joan's final film and its a camp horror flick, but I'm rethinking after seeing the trailer

  • My Mom took us to the drive-in to see this. We were little kids and were terrified

  • A rather inauspicious conclusion to her career, it has to be said.

  • wow her career was in serious trouble XD

  • This was Joan Crawford's last film, and she looks great! As in all her films, she dominates. It is hard to really watch anything else or anyone else in the film as her screen presence was so strong. This is indeed a very rare trait, and one that served Joan Crawford well in her acting career for over 60 years!

  • @theplanetking - is that shit really necessary?

  • joan was washed up by this one and british cheap horror movies were the only star roles she was being offered, also planet of the apes was hot then so gues they felt an apeman was box office.

i love this film, a perfect example of how far you can fall in hollywood, from the queen of hollywood to total trash and still keep dignity,,fabulous star turn by joan.

  • With Christina Crawford as TROG! lol

wtf is with all the crash zooms? Makes it look like more of a POS

  • TROGDOR!!!!

  • this must be her best film

  • I never saw this movie, even when they showed it on tv. That mask kills me.

  • T to the R to the O to the G!

  • @margeno1

    C to the U to the N to the T !

  • Yo Trog, don't play with my wire hangers ever!

  • Oh, Joan!

  • does he kill the girl that slides down the slide? i wouldnt mess with this dude

  • Trog is probably smarter than most of the people commenting on Youtube...

  • @Mality Trog thinks global warming is a lie. Trog thinks illegal immigrants are criminals. Trog thinks gay people are degenerates, and that gay marriage will destroy the nuclear family. Trog believes in free market. Trog loves Ronald Reagan. Trog thinks Obama is dictator. Trog fights for Trog's constitutional rights. Trog loves the founding fathers. At night, sometimes Trog thinks about his body and how it not fully solid but composed of space and molecules. This disturbs Trog deeply.

  • @kives1985 Guess I was wrong about him, then.

  • That's what you get for believing in evilution

Alleged horror movies where the leading lady looks scarier than the critter.

  • According to their episode guide,MST3K was offered this movie---and they turned it down.

Mommie Dearest and a cast of pasty-faced Brits in an "Eegah" wannabe---and they TURNED?!?IT?!?DOWN??!!??

  • Schtemlo!

  • I saw it. They probably turned it down because it wasn't that bad. I assumed it would be bad, but it had some good scenes and I saw it with an audience that ate it up.

  • Just curious..how much strength do 20 demons have?

  • LMAO!!!!

  • I've seen this movie. It's amazing!

  • truth be told, it's ridiculous. but if you love Joan Crawford, or so-bad-they're-good movies, you'll still think it's amazing...

  • Lol that's a good way of putting it :)

  • trog would kick maugrim's ass (The Maugrim from the lion the witch and the wardrobe from the 80s not the onew made a couple of years ago)

  • i saw that movie retarded

  • Holy crap lol this thread is epic

  • Is this some kind of terrible terrible joke?

  • The worst film ever made with out question, films like this are often so bad there good but this just goes back to being bad again. Joan Crawford should of got an Oscar for keeping a straight face while filming it.

  • joachim1987

what? worse than The Mexican(2001) with Julia Roberts and Brad Pit? The trio took the trio for one reason - MONEY!

  • hav'nt seen it, I tend to avoid films with either of those two in.

  • i would like to see what the guy looks like without the gorilla mask on ;)

  • TROG was actually Christina Crawford---at the time it was attempt for Joan and her adopted daughter to become close to each other. Christina is actually not wearing any makeup or even a mask--thats her real face. LOL

  • Lmfao

  • Which one is Trog? Crawford or the Ape?

  • This is a real treasure.....Crawford as a scientist ! .........bullying a troglodyte into submission! Mayhem ensues! I LOVE this movie.

  • Trog " I am not one of your Faaaaaaaansss!"

actually I am. this movie is so bad it's funny.

  • "That face... those eyes..."

    aaaah! Joan Crawford!

  • the killer ape looks like Luis Guzmán

  • Movie scared the hell out of me when I was a pup

    Not the critter, her.

  • movie scared the crap out of me..... when he hung that butcher on a big meat hook

  • This movie sucks big time!

  • my big bro had nightmares forever from this one!

  • tomorrow i going to wacht this movie!! and i sure i have nightmare too

  • Brilliant.

  • Yes Trog dearest!

  • How was Joan's health at this point of her career? She use to be a healthy person until the drinking came, but was her health deteriorating as the years progressed in the 60s and 70s? Or was it before? Curious to know.

  • I saw this in the theatre when I was 9 and I cried when Trog died. For years the name 'Trog' has been in my brain, and today I finally found a wonderful piece of my childhood.

  • I saw a special "Director's Cut" that includes a deleted scene of JC and Trog having doggie style sex in the cave and she yells "Trog! Trog!" very convincingly as he gets his rocks off while throwing rocks.

  • Crawford's Color films :

    Torch Song (1954)

    Berserk

    And Of Course, Trog (1970)

  • @werdw6

Johnny Guitar and The Best of Everything were in color, too...

  • No, she did other technicolor films, if you include her guest spotl appearance in a Doris Day film from 1949.

  • is this her first color movie?

  • "Whatever it is, It MUST exist"

  • lol

  • The strength of twenty demons? That's very strong

  • @wolfspider23 I think Predator had 22 or 23 demon power. I'm not sure, though, but I think that's correct.

  • Yeah man fuck that!

  • @wolfspider23 : No kidding. It puts Jesus Christ to shame. :(

  • @wolfspider23 not 21, just 20.

  • best movie ever i have pity on anyone who hasent seen it. ive never seen a film with more realistic effects anyone whos seen the car secene knows what im talking about

  • It's easy to judge by other people's word. If you did not know her you can't say how she was. Her daughter was the bitch in my opinion.

  • So did you know her daughter then? Dumbarse.

  • @ChristianMisun Actually, Joan Crawford was a very generous, kind woman. Whenever she worked on a film, she knew every member of the cast and crew by his/her name, and even kept up to date about their families, etc. She was very warm toward her fans, and she personally responded to all fan mail in a timely manner; she even sent out holiday cards, birthday cards, and even presents. She was very charitable, especially when it came to her favorite cause: adoption. (con'td in next message)...

  • @ChristianMisun (cont'd from 1st message) Joan overcame a very hard childhood and, with hard work and determination, managed to make a great life for herself, and her four (she had a fifth, whose mother demanded him back) adopted children, whom she loved dearly. Both of Joan's younger daughters, Cathy and Cindy, have stated numerous times that Christina's allegations of child abuse are false and without merit. If anyone is a "b****" I believe it is safe to say (cont'd in 3rd message)...

  • @ChristianMisun (cont'd from 2nd message) that that person is Tina. Was Joan an alcoholic? Yes, she admitted so herself. She also admitted that she was not a perfect parent or, for that matter, a perfect woman either. But that doesn't make her a "b****" or a "hateful woman" either. She was a strong, independent woman who left a great legacy. YOU are the "b****" for judging someone you don't know. Maybe you should do REAL research instead of relying on WIKIPEDIA. Please see yourself out.

  • Joan Crawford refused to give up the ship even at her death she still thought she has the last word.

  • i just loved the cheap nasty horror films joan crawford was reduced to after baby jane, her career is the perfect example of how a queen of hollywood would do anything in order to keep their name above the title

and you cant sink lower than trog joan to do that,,except maybe ,a hardcore porn movie....

...but you did that BEFORE you were famous!!! what a pro ;)

  • Porn is the last option when people have no dignity left. Joan was way above that.

  • joan did porn before her career

i think she was a determined woman, with one goal,,,fame and fortune at any cost and no matter what

at the begining she would do porn to put food in her belly and make connections,,,,trog at the end to stil remain a star above the title!

i know which i prefer to see her in......

    TROG

  • joan crawford, i feel so bad that she did this crap? however, she looks surprisingly good for a older woman. but yeah, back in the day, she was a fox!!!!!!!

  • this movie... when i saw it, it stretched my reality, i asked...

where is trog? what is trog thinking right now?

  • i remember going to see this at the saturday matenee double feature with the evil of frankenstein, i'm glad they played trog first geesh, terrible

  • wtf!

  • Why do people scream at the sight of it rather than giving it a funny "What the hell is a monkey doing in a playground." look.

  • Dude, I think I know where William Shatner learned how to yell Kahn in Star Trek II : The Wrath of Kahn! Look at 1:35!

    TROG!!!!!!

  • is joan crawford in this movie ?

  • corny! cheesy! tacky! why joan why? why did you pick this movie? you should have known better!

  • HAHAHA I remember what a Stupid movie that was

  • I like how Trog's arms are nice, smooth and hairless.

  • HAHAHAHAHA i was just about to post that, what is up with that??? this must have been so cheaply made.

  • i agree with what trog says here

  • How many times did they have to tell us the title? plus lol at 1:15

  • So this was Stanley Kubricks competition?

    Hmm...

  • The original plot set the story in Egypt. It was to be called 'Mummy Dearest.'

  • Looks like someone found a mask from Planet of the Apes and they figured that was enough to make a movie with.

  • How many times can they put 'STARRING JOAN CRAWFORD' and the films title 'TROG' on the screen for one trailer???!!!

  • The papier maiche boulder that Trog throws overhead is priceless! This movie is absolute gold!

  • a load of gay boys and JC. fab. how camp did she get?

  • check out the weird world of opossumland5

  • trog is a wild thing

  • The only Joan Crawford movie I find enjoyable to watch.

  • Poor Joan, how could she make this film? She took it so seriously. So sad this is the only thing they would offer her. Love Joan.

  • You said it all, Manzo27! TROG Rocks! They even did a drag musical version in San Fran to rave reviews! (Well, maybe not rave)

  • I heard on a "50 worst movies of all-time" DVD that the movie was so low-budget, Crawford had to provide her own wardrobe.

  • This film got spoofed in the movie SCHLOCK! which was directed by John Landis.

  • U-G-L-Y! Uggh!

  • Is this film worth watching? It looks pretty bad by the looks of the trailer. I like Joan Crawford. Would I like this?

  • I am a fan as well...it would only make you sad!

  • I think it makes it all the more credible with Joan in it!!

  • Joan with a shotgun????

Poor, poor Christina........and whatever the boy's name was. BUT, wire hangers, after seeing this, could not have been that bad.

RIP Joan. I sure do miss ya hon!!!!!

  • I remember watching this movie a long time ago, men in suits, you gotta love it :)

  • haha "with the strength of twenty demons!" a bit random

  • GIVE ME THE BABY TROG

  • Flawless comment!

  • only joan could tame a troglodyte

  • OMG, I saw this when it came out. I was 7 at the time. I had nightmares for months,,,LOL

  • She deeply regretted making this film and felt like a fool afterwards. She was such a talented actress. It is a shame that she wound up taking such terrible parts towards the end of her career. RIP Joan.

  • This is the BEST movie ever! Must see flick of the century. Warning...the content of this film is too disturbing to be seen alone, you must watch with loved ones.

  • awesome!

  • I'm more surprised about Michael Gough ("Alfred" to us Batman fans) in the film. I know he did a lot of horror, but not this type...

  • A Movie Dearest blog featured video. See my profile for the link and playlists!

  • looks like a mexican erotic feature

  • I LOVE this movie! Joan Crawford as an anthropologist (!!!)bullying a troglodyte...

    no good comes of it........

  • Didn't she get her Oscar for this?
