  • how does he start with gozo?did he fly on ther straight lol?its no wonder so many foreigners have misleading views of our little but proud nation cause this video showed nothing.i hope the malta tourist board havnt parted with any money for this farce.

  • Hello Mario!!! How are you??? I have just come on Youtube since May and found your special video!!!! So sorry I didn't notice this before, I don't get any messages anymore to tell me someone has sent me a message on youtube!!!!

  • This video really sucks...

  • what a load of shit your a idiot not a journalist ! i would of made you some concrete boots & watched you swim ...or try to

  • This isnt journalism! This clip is a disgrace

  • omg! this is horrilbe stuff in every sense!!

  • sorry ta but what about bugibba, valletta waterfront, sliema, etc, etc???? he hasn't show nothing of malta exept for 2 places!! even gozo...there is much much more...if i was a tourist and saw that video i surely would not come to Malta!!!!!!!

  • this is hilarious!

  • this is what you get from the dollar problems not only great banks are facing shit but also the travelling businesses... they employ like we maltese say ' DEFICENTI"

  • For a journalist, he's pretty bad at research. Of all the things he could have shown and told about Malta. Maltese history in five minutes my ar**! Jerk...

  • i beg to differ. Of you read the title of his series "The Frugal Traveller" he showed the right stuff for his intended audience, including Strait Street.

    Pity he didn't show more.

  • I frequently go to Hondoq This place is under treath because a big project is being proposed . Malta has been most insensitively developed and now is beyond redemption. However, Gozo continues to appeal to that high worth market segment be they tourists, or retiree settlers. This proposed mega-development of Hondoq ir-Rummien, together with other projects, will sound the final death knell for Gozo`s differentiation that will permanently damage any sustainable economic model for it.

  • I am Maltese and I love this island, but the people are douche bags!

  • tnx! haven't been called that for a while

  • and what about the waterfront in valletta, it is the nicest and in its natural state, so it has not been tempered with.

  • Malta is a beautiful island in the middle of the mediterranean, full of culture and rich history which some don't even know exists. So in my opinion dear traveller, either do not come to Malta or when you come do some research before and get your self a good tour guide.

  • Im very sorry 2 say but u didnt go to d right places in Malta. Rather than going 2 Strait Str. u should have gone 2 Republic Str. and show d nice buildings we have there like d Grand Master's Palace, St.John's CoCathedral, the Auberge of Castille and much more.

And for all I know Malta is much more rich in culture and history than USA. Just because u had a civil war and another war with the British it doesnt make u one of the best countries in the world. Next time in Malta get a tourist guide

  • This video really does not make sense and I really wish that this reporter comes to Malta and report what really makes sense. I regret to tell this reporter that he missed the Co-Cathedral of St. John in Valletta. No matter where one goes but one can never see such a treasure and masterpiece of art..not even if he goes around the entire USA!!! I've been to the US myself and there exist no history or culture whatsoever ...but just tall buildings and parks!!!!

  • I have my doubts if this reporter all he wanted to do was make fun of our island, in which even he said it's an island which every one wanted Of all the nice place we have he wasted most of the time of this small video on hondoq and strait str, He did not show Cittadella, Dwejra, Xlendi for examp. while being in Gozo or in Valletta Auberge De Castille,Upper barakka, or lower, Waterfront, etc etc and what did Valletta confused him with..I'm sorry but this video is an insult to our lovely island

  • It is the worst street, but we all know its history and we all mention it with the tourists, with all the prostitutes and sailors, songs have been written about that street! so i can see why nytimes went there.

but you could have shown OTHER places too :P you needed more reasearch, or better tourist guides.

and what the hell is said at the end? i still can't understand after listening to it for 20 times!

  • what did he say at the end lol !?

  • I think it's "ghan new yory times jiena matteu cross ili kiteb il-vjagg l'ihris"

  • I'm afraid to tell you that in Strait Street in Valletta you were not 30 years too late, but 50! Of all places in Valletta you chose the worst street! With just a little bit more research you could have done much better my friend!

  • From all the places in Valletta I cannot believe that the NY Times reporter went to Strait Str.

  • Man, American history started way after Valletta was build... and you just went to Strait Str? Can`t believe you screened that

SH1T, what an Swipe of a reporter! Next time you come you get some more euros with you and i`ll take you to see MALTA.

Where does NYTimes get there ppl?

  • Hey theres my daughter on that Vidio, you should have come to the stadium when Valletta played,Straight str is the worst street in Valletta how come you went there ??

  • Accent FAIL....
