As an unbeliever for half my life, I like most atheists, threw the baby out with the bathwater. Tending to think that the historical religious community, were actually following the holy books they upheld and payed pious lip service to, I began to read the Bible and study the history of Christianity. I found no justification in the context of the Bible, for the majority of their doctrines nor their actions against their fellow men/women, and found Jesus is indeed the Messiah/Torah made flesh.
When Dawkins said he would be grateful for a theory that was even plausible he wasn't talking about theory as in "My guess" but rather a scientific model based on the rules set by the universe. If the universe is fine tuned for life then why is there so much hostile space? Many planets cannot be lived and much of space is an empty unforgiving void. And if god can do anything why is there a universe at all? Why not just a single planet with life? -continue-
God is perfectly comfortable with violating the laws of nature as they stand for separating the sea, or turning an entire city to salt, or flooding the world so why not just have Earth and a sun and call it good? It describes something that has been ruthlessly tested; that has predictive powers and that accurately describes the evidence. Other scientific theories include Gravity, Electromagnetism, Quantum Theory and Special Relativity. If a theory has no evidence, shouldn't these also be under investigation? I have no problem with people believing in God, but I do have strong views on scientific literacy!

Tending to think that the historical religious community, were actually following the holy books they upheld and payed pious lip service to, I began to read the Bible and study the history of Christianity. @gandulverde Actually, in science, the term 'theory' is pretty much as close to fact as you can get. It describes something that has been ruthlessly tested; that has predictive powers and that accurately describes the evidence. Other scientific theories include Gravity, Electromagnetism, Quantum Theory and Special Relativity. If a theory has no evidence, shouldn't these also be under investigation? I have no problem with people believing in God, but I do have strong views on scientific literacy!
