  • @ChrJahnsen I'm pretty sure she was talking about the politics through the movie?

  • She may be Gods gift to acting, but I'm SO FUCKING SICK of certain black people's victim mentality. You sure as hell did have a hard time back in the day, but get the hell over it. The America you live in today is utterly different, so quit moaning. What you are exhibiting is in fact reverse racism. "Not about politics" - give me a fucking break!

  • @ChrJahnsen haha. whatever...

  • @ChrJahnsen Its the truth! Most of the time it is about politics

  • @ChrJahnsen You do realize that politics comment has nothing to do with racism. Before being nominated Monique was criticizing the oscars in general for how they had things done, which almost caused the oscars to not nominate her for an award. But instead they manned up and chose the right decision in nominating her and giving her the win, which is what she meant with the politics. Not trying to be a troll, just saying it had nothing to do with racism (Potier did win in the 50s after all)

  • What a wonderful speech!

  • If they are going to give Monique an Oscar for playing fat, black, mean, ugly, and ignorant, then she should also receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

  • @ngames1 you obviously don't get it, MoNique's acting was incredible she deserved the Oscar her performance was incredible!

  • @screamin07 keep saying that. She's done something with her life and career and you're on youtube posting ignorant comments....

  • good job sista!

  • @screamin07 FUCK YOU!

  • I like Monique but I don't agree with the open marriage thing you can't have your cake and it it too or however the saying goes

  • Well deserved!

  • @screamin07 get out of the '60s... Monique is and will always be a better and more important person than you. You are just ignorant

  • @cchambly01 what u talking about she deserved that award fare and square ur a soar loser

  • @screamin07 get out of the '60s... Monique is a much more important person than you.

  • Monique looks magnificent in that color blue!

  • she was brilliant!

  • She was magnificant in this movie.

  • monique very much with all respect and love deserved this oscar

  • What was that look from Samuel L. Jackson?

  • @ntn056 it was a look of jealousy and insecurity because he has not an Oscar.

  • @AveolarD

    Wrong.

  • @FungusMossGnosis then, what was it? all of the old kats are jealous.

  • @AveolarD

All the old cats are jealous?! I considered not even responding to that nonsense, but here goes:

Sam Jackson was moved to the point where he almost teared up, and then he notices that he's on the big screen and tries to cover up the fact with a funny face.

There you are : 1 second of meaningless footage explained.

  • @FungusMossGnosis that's your doan's pills interpretation. look at the role of the eyes smirk. pay attention. are you smarter than a 5th grader? and, if it was such nonsense, why did you respond? is it because of the fungus in your name or on your brain? did you see tears in samuels eyes? no. think a little. just a little.

  • OMG meryl streep stood up for her. GO MERYL U ROCK I LOVE YOU. MONIQUE YOU ROCK I LOVE YOU.

  • lol she won an award for playing a stereotypical black female from the ghetto

  • she is so eloquent I think that monique helps breaks the mold of what an actress should be. she is passionate, real, and talented and she well deserved the oscar for her perfomance alone,

  • She seemed a little angry

  • MAN! If I had a Oscar to give, she would get it!!!!!

  • monique is very classy, LOVED her performance

  • I swear I cried when they said her name I was s0o happy for her.

  • Okay, seriously, who else did they think was going to win?

She had that shit in the bag when the movie was first released in 2008.

  • America's new hattie mcDaniel. They've been waiting since 'gone with the wind'.

  • By the way, the movie was released by the "Black community", if you want to look seriously at this. So where again are you getting your "facts"? I'd love to learn whatever I can, but I have a feeling you're the one being ignorant.

  • MO deserved that oscar n more even..........i hate how u ppl hate on talented ppl like MO just coz shes black.. some nations never chnage i believe

  • @Falisia11 Who's hating on her just 'cause she's Black? Are you blind, stupid, or both? She's ignorant, racist, egotistical and acts like an obnoxious buffoon on the Mo'Nique show. If you honestly believe people don't like her "just 'cause she's black", then you'd better get used to getting turned down "just 'cause you're black" because you've obviously got just as many deficiencies as Mo'Nique, dummy.

  • @treemagnet88 Goodness! calm down for the love of God. LMO i didnt see her show but the reason why i said that comment is coz i see so many comments made bot her regarding her weight n her race.. u may not hate her but there r ppl who do for wgatevr reason.. and BTW there is no reason for u to be ignorant fool.. talk to be like an adult, child.. and who said i am black?

  • @Falisia11 I didn't say you're Black. My point is that you're the one making ignorant generalizations. And you can explain how I'm being ignorant and childish anytime. You're obviously trying to take the easy way out of things to support your agenda. Don't make instantly demonizing or hateful statements without having the guts to back them up.

  • @treemagnet88 typically aint it!!! i was just puttin my point of view acrosss dont take too personal as usuall.. i just feel sory for the poor gurl i hate the way some ppl talk about her.. words can hurt. obviously. n i can back up my words anytime anywhere huni thats one thng i do for real..put ur point across profesioanlly without makin me look like am attackn u. if u dnt like what am sayin then replyin. very simple!!

  • Yup... she just had to make it about race. I hope she knows there are tons and tons of instances of Blacks winning Academy Awards disproportionately over Whites, but we don't go whining about it.

She has a stick up her ass, and she doesn't even know it's there. She's ignorant, classless garbage.

  • @treemagnet88 treefaggot, acually she was making refference to the BLACK community fighting against the release of the movie.. LEarn something fag! faggots are jealous, thats y they cant reproduce

  • @KookeeTV And you know this HOW?!? I was under the impression it had a little more to do with her "oppressed strong Black woman" mentality, seeing as she dressed up as and thanked Hattie McDaniel several times at the award ceremony and stated specifically that she would have been oppressed due to her being Black (by the Academy) if it weren't for Hattie McDaniel. And, seeing as the Academy is mostly run by White liberals, I don't see how how the politics comment applied to the "Black community".

  • ok white person, dont profess to believe u understand the black community better than i, mainly sense clearly you don't Precious was being blackballed by the black community because they felt it made them look bad. they only backed off when oprah and tyler perry touched it. Hattie's refference is from a response that miss hattie got her oscar and the black community made comments about her only winning because she played a maid. and she responded ""it's better to play a maid than be a maid."

  • I really can't think of any performance I've seen in years and years that matches Mo'Nique's in Precious. She is terrifying and so, so, real. In my mind, no one has ever deserved this award as much as she did. I was barely aware of her before I saw Precious, but now I'll definitely be following her work closely.

  • I wish everybody would just shut the fuck up! Somebody won another Oscar...period. End of discussion. Next,,,

  • SHE DESERVED IT. I LOVE YOU GIRL, YOU MAKE US PLUS SIZE GIRLS/WOMEN HAPPY AND PROUD.

  • man the harpoon

  • monique would like to thank these fine services and vendors, Roscoes chicken 'n' wafffles, moniques dress supplied by tarps 'r' us, make up by sherwin williams paints,

  • I love monique, and I am not even black!

    monique rocks!

  • @andyobby i'm black and ..oh wait im not

  • @lifeson46 you're probably white boy material.... meaning I'd have sit on my face while I lick that pink american asshole of yours!

  • @andyobby actually its an English one

  • @lifeson46 Nice, still.... would like to put my tongue around it, lick your balls and cock hhmmmm

  • hmmm...whens the last time a black actor or actress won an oscar for a good positive role.....if yer notplaying a dirty cop, a woman with a filthy sex scene or a screwed up mom..forget it

  • @SOULSEEKA u know what, i feel what ur saying, i really do. but look @ it like this: art is reflecting life, and although u think black actors win 4 negative roles, in fact, its positive. they are winning 4 the work, not for being the character. acting is a visceral art and it takes tremendous vulnerability and insight and technique 2 transform into a believable character. its about the work. hattie macdaniel, whoopi goldberg, halle berry, jenifer hudson, monique worked it out!

  • She is a good actor, but she acts too Ghetto for me.

  • @tresbanks you are going to hell for sure.

  • Monique the Freak watch?v=XgeO0ADxDqE

  • @DrWizardMan yes i'm black and what

  • monique desreved it its soo sad to c her cry

  • an oscar?like it means something

  • @decoymiata besides the fact that it is the highest award in theperformance segment of the motion picture industry, it is also pretty significant if you think about its distribution in terms of raw numbers. There are billions of people on the planet. hundreds of thousands of whom are now actors, and millions since thespis first stepped on the greek stage. but in the modern era only 82 people have earned that particular distinction (best supporting actress). so yea, it kinda means something.

  • her performance will go down as one of the greatest in american film history.....i have never seen anything like that on screen before

  • Monique is so inspiring!

  • Did anyone else notice that weird face Sam Jackson pulled when the camera was on him? Wonder what that was about?

  • Everyone should be colorblind, including her.

  • oh my gosh have you people gone mad what kind of humans talk like you people do. you people are the kind of people that should not be able to walk this earth. shame on your ugly fat ass. shame on you.

  • i see there are some ignorant people here. i mean damn someone that's black win an oscar, y'all get a damn bitch fit. why not say they worked hard and deserves it? you racist people make me sick.

  • fuckin bitch fuck u

  • @driftingdrought I don't appreciate your comment at all. You Quote: "Be fucked by a white guy and like it or play an abusive, unattractive person with low self-esteem"! What is wrong with having sex with someone of different colour?

In another you comment Halle Berry acts white. Please, do explain.

Racist award? Talk about trying to find fault.

Maybe you have some racist issues of your own to deal with dear.

  • @garyography Sorry that you have an issue with reality and the way things work in Hollywood, but it's not my problem. And, I never said Halle "acts white" - I think you may have me confused with someone else.

  • Mo'nique did a great job. Why she believe in open relationship with her husband is beyond me. She says as long as her man tells her about his cheating ways everytime he cheats then it's ok! HELLNAW!

  • Gunnarsas, you're not seeing the bigger picture.

Watch a film called Losing Isaiah, featuring Halle Berry, Then view "Queen," which stars the same actor as well. Then view the film she won an oscar for, Monsters Ball.

Also view Malcolm X, a film directed by Spike Lee which stars Denzel Washington. Then look at Training Day, the movie Denzel won an oscar for.

The Academy Awards, like many award shows in the United States, is a joke. It has a small amount of credibility, but only an inkling.

  • watch my cartoon video spoof of her speech

  • What an amazing performance she truly deserves the Oscar 100 PERCENT!

  • its a movie you cunt

  • Did anyone actually see this movie?! Monique was phenomonal. I couldn't imagine anyone doing this part better.

  • Excelente!

  • why is it that african americans who have won most academy awards in the past 15 years were acting in mostly stereotypical depressing roles that nearly insults blacks in general? I congratulate her on her oscar win, but has anyone else noticed a growing trend here...?

  • @artstar19 insults Blacks? her being an abusive mother had nothing to do with her race.

  • yea its some type of behind the scene setup to only acknowledge when blacks are doing something bad, like Denzel in Training day..after almost 15 years of doing movies, they rate his bad attitude ones.

  • yes.. Always... Halle Berry had to screw an old white man to get her award.. Playing a whore

  • I also want to say that maybe Samuel L. Jackson made that gesture because maybe he was like, "Why do they always have to zoom in on African American reactions, when an African American wins?" Or maybe he thought, "Okay, why is it being zoomed at me? I wasn't even in the movie" You know? lol. I'm sorry those are just my thoughts. Someone should ask him why he did that because i'm just really curious. Not dissing, just really wanna know.

  • I am glad Mo'nique won no matter what people say. I'm always rooting for minorities at the Ocars because honestly, it is a huge accomplishement and honor for them to be nominated as they say and for them to win it just really inspires others to follow that path. I am very, very happy for her. So please just stop it with the racism and name calling. If you won't say sometjing nice then don't say anything at all.

  • I totally agree

  • @anawithlove LOL you don't sound racist at all. "I am glad Mo'nique won no matter what people say. I'm always rooting for minorities at the Oscars.

  • I hate when they make a big deal when a blk person achieves something. Really it's not that serious.

  • Why is that Extreme? I applaud every and anyone when they achieve something great. While white America disdains the fact that people feel a sense of accomplishment when an African American achieves something great is a testament of how far this nation has come.

I remember being called a little nigger girl by my white peers on the way home from school, while they tried to spite on me. I was a honor roll student and basic good kid, and yes that was that serious.

  • because white people in general are evil !!! thats why they done it to you

  • What History might you be talking about??? You said a moment in Black History........

  • wow she won since sunday and still racists. And whats with all the people on youtube always saying learn how to spell learn you grammar.Thats the corniest comeback like really it is why would you think someone would feel insulted by that please have better comebacks.

  • why do you feel "sorry" for her lol shes not thinking about you. dont feel sorry for anyone seeing more money in a year than you'll see in your lifetime.

  • @salgueirose racists dont feel period. If i where a rasiscs i wouldnt waste time looking at a black woman with an oscar i would be on sweet as pie sandra page!

  • Talk all the shit you want, but she's the one up there with the award.

  • Why are there so many people who hate on overweight Black women watching this video in the first place???? LOL It's amazing to me. Because, personally, I'm not gonna take 2:32 of my life to entertain ANYTHING that already know I don't like or approve of...JMO

  • Two thumbs up for Mo'nique!! As Mary Jones, she was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! But what's up with Sam Jackson's little eye roll or whatever? That was a little disappointing for such a huge moment in Black history...

  • best performance for an actress in a waffle n chicken shop

  • man the harpoon gun......dickey moe

  • she so ghetto

  • are people really making fat jokes? really? is everyone in grade school here? I can't believe people, when will they actually GROW up -so sad!!!

  • People...we must ignore the IGNORant people. We must remember that the majority of out right racist people are uneducated. I think its quite funny that they do not battle us with wits but all their energy in thinking they are better because of the color of their skin... which they had no control over. I guess its just the luck of the draw. They can continue hating on my dark skin while tanning their pale skin and I'll keep on prospering. I love you all even the haters.

  • You go girl. I couldn't have said it any better! It is funny how they hate on blacks, but would love to have our skin tone.

  • Monique you are beautiful and keep up the good work! Love - your fan! ;c)

  • She really-really deserved this one. Mindblowing performance by Mo'.

  • Yeah, and you're an idiot.

Sandra Bullock destroyed their creditability. Monique deserved her Oscar.

  • Haha, you're clueless. Monique said she is just as honored to have been in Soul Plane as she is to have been in this film, the woman is a hairy legged idiot.

  • She said, any job she's ever had was great. At least she's not like talentless Sandra Bullock who regrets doing every movie she's ever done just because she has an Oscar now.

Mo'Nique gave one of the best performances of all time, and she DESERVEDLY won. Get the hell over it.

  • @ItBrandonSilver How did Sandra not deserve hers?

  • I can't believe all the coments here! She was magnificent in her role, this is not about black, white, red, yellow, blue, orange people, it is about reality, this happens in everywhere. I do believe Monique deserved it.

  • fuck you.. rascist cunt somebody must have did something to you for that to come out your damn mouth that only ugly black women win awards...Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Monique are fine black women and they are good at what they do get a life loser or a girlfriend because you suck right ab out now

  • there is nothing new under the sun.white people always have supported a fat black ghetto nanny type woman. The black lady from gone with the wind, to Nell Carter.

  • What awards are you talking about? Is Halle Berry ugly too? She won an Oscar. And if the award is based on talent. should it matter if they are "ugly" or not?

  • what was samuel l. jackson doing at the end?

  • wasn't it her turn?

  • lots talent for her! great stuff

  • fuck the fat fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheDestroyer004 say destroyer i feel ya u have a right to your comment even if it exerts emptyness but tell me this dawg would u luv to live in a house like that fat fuck drive the kind of car that fat fuck drives, have the money that fat fuck has or be fortunate to win an oscar like that fat fuck??

    the

    Destroyer" yea right!! Later Loser!!

  • completely deserved. her performance in precious was astounding.

  • I love how she included the great Hattie McDaniel in her speech. She also wore the same kind of flower in her hair that she wore at the Oscars when she won in 1940. Lovely gesture.

  • Ignorant racists no longer need to hide behind white sheets. The cowards now use the anonymity of the internet. Suck it, you stupid jerks.

  • i thought her speech was eloquent and beautiful. the haters need to shove it.

  • i say, FUCK ALL THE RACIST HATERS

  • @dsjj251 i never said anything about her being black. i just cant believe how fuckin fat she is

  • i first comment is directed at you, not the second one.

but you are still a dumbass

  • @dsjj251 calm down fatty

  • she is so beautiful..yall mpeople have no lives saying that racial shit..like seriously she did her da,m thing yall probably aint even see thew damn movie..cuz if you did u wouldnt be saying she dont deserve it...congrats monique you deserve everything and all the sucess that your getting and will be getting

  • I think her comment was unecessary. She made it more racist than anything. She did an amazing performance and she should be proud of herself for that fact alone.

  • sheesh it's not about her being black it's about her doing a great performance.

even a white guy like me from Iowa can see that : )

    Good Job Mo!! :))

  • Monique always choose black people to do movie, never mexican, white or asian.

  • Have you ever noticed, when white people win awards black people applaud their efforts and hope their day will come when they win the same accolades. And when it does arrive, you hear insults, jealousy, heatred. Why do you think that is?

  • you dumb bitch, you dont know shit about monique

  • @CUBANO76 If a Cuban won I would be prous for him/her and share in the pride the cuban would feel. As far as Ms Monique having talent, as I sat in the theater watching her performance I said to my wife, she's going to win the award.

  • @au33987

So are you saying that the whole Oscar audience was black? Because I heard a shit load of applause.

Have you stopped to think that your comment is just as racist as the racism that it implies, au33987?

  • I was speaking metaphorically

  • Congratulations Ms M...........

  • why feel sorry for her she is very successful are you. and being promoted from fries to flippping burgers dont count LOL!!!!!!

  • For everyone with your races comments and fat jokes. Please tell when was the last time you was nominated for a damn Oscar? Dont' worry I'll wait.........................Sounds lik a little jealousy floating round. Get over the president is black and im sure ya neighbors are to

  • i feel sorry for all of you , you are all complete idiots technically everyone is black, the first person to have ever existed was a black person FACT also bitch all you want about her she is the one with an oscar and a massive mansion and a ferrari what the hell have you got fuck all you . rasicsm is the lowest form of jealousy and for the record i am a white person so why dont you keep all your racism inside you untill you get a mental health problem

  • lol someone black wins, and they start to closeup all the black celebrities.. stupid fuckers

  • She explained on Oprah what the '"politics" meant. Mo'nique faced criticism because she did not go to every single award festival and everything related to the movie in LA. It was hard for her to do because she has a live talk show 5 days a week, 4 children, and resides in Atlanta, GA due to her show. She is saying the Academy honors filmwork and not what the media thinks all actors should be doing in the public eye.

  • why are they so fat? is is the crisco?

  • i would of cryed

she did a beautiful job on that movie

  • Is this the same lady who was calling the token whitetrash girl from usual black ''comedies'' like ''Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins'' a bitch and ''someone help that white girl'' ? I'd love to see a white actress say the same things to a black actress in an all white movie where there's just a token black girl that's the dumb one and does everything wrong and then let's see the said actress get anywhere even close to an oscar

  • monique will always be miss parker!!!!

    hey boo!!

  • they don't do close up's becos they are "black" its cos one guy is her husband, the other is the producer(tyler perry) the other is the girl who played precious.
