  • "It brought a lot of attention" is not always a good thing.

Do you realize that small children are like little hypnosis machines? If you tell a girl "when you grow up, you will be beaten by your husband", you're basically programming her to go out and seek and date abusive males.

How is telling little boys "when you grow up, we expect you to beat women up" a good thing?

It was found that all children who were told in passing, even as a joke "when you grow up, you'll end up in prison" DID?

  • lol

  • Such an interesting video.

  • mmm your brain looks tastey!

I hadn't heard of that ad campain, but WOW.. very jarring to see it. Yes, I think that domestic violence should be addressed directly in frightening terms, because that is exactly the nature of the beast.

It is not sexist.. it is true.

  • i love ads like that honestly. it will do one of two things... either really piss you off or really make you think. if it really pisses you off... well, usually you're guilty of it.

  • ive seen that happen in my family. it just aint right. i wont ever to that to family no matter how mad i get. i dont see how poeple can hurt the ones they they are supose to love. peace. gregg

  • This ad campaign is made too shock....Most children will not read these ads......

  • I do think that is genius advertising.

It's so raw and to the point that people pay attention to it. They don't fluff the issue of violence at all.

    Good video, Steph!

  • It's funny how "real" abuse is suppose to be advertised politely..... just look at some of the responses....

  • Awareness is good Steph and I know you are making me that breakfast egg, I want some toast and bacon too with that thank you!

  • I want one now! lol

  • ye that be da truth girl i like that you always say what you think not what you think people will like you if you say thank you for being so honest and open also thanks for sharing you as a person :)

  • is there any other way to do it? ty :o)

  • This is insane!

  • This is truth

  • Harsh yet effective!

  • It seems so..... :o)

  • hey, steph great vid but i have to respectfully disagree i think this is a terrible idea i think the powers that be is using this to further the gender divide and war for their own agenda that powers that be will do anything to break up the human family they care nothing about our children this is just business for these people nothing more nothing less.

  • Maybe the adults will see them and realize what they are doing to their children.

  • Let's Do It!! I agree.

I just hope they show these when adults are more likely to see them vs. kids. The message may be distorted if kids vs. the adults see them.

  • Domestic violence - yeah, too many people (not just men) do it. :( That campaign looks like something that I wouldn't have expected to happend in America. It's very "loud".

  • Wow! Those commercials do have the shock value intended. I'll bet they really got conversations started and maybe some education here or there. You know the old saying: "If it can save just one". Wow. I'm blown away. 2 more days!

  • Great Video...

  • Oh you would do the same Billy... :o)

  • This defiantly needs to be shouted out there! Being raised by a step father was not good for me at all. And was not good for my sisters which was his biological daughters. I have seen the abuse my grandfather put on my aunts and uncle. Alcohol placed a big roll in the family history of family violence. All is left is hurt, distrust, and ongoing trait of alcoholism in my family! I put a stop to alcoholism by not starting it.

  • That's because you learned from other mistakes... :o)

  • I agree, Steph! Let's stop ALL violence against ALL humanity! Love IS the answer and Peace IS the way...:-) I know, showing another part of the utopian world I live within...ha!

  • I wanna live in happiness...care to join me?

  • Agree 100%.

  • That's a good thing hippygram

  • I totally agree steph..Cause there is way to much of it in this world..

  • The shock factor got their attention and that can't be bad.

  • Fuckin eh Steph ! ! !

    Love u sweetheart...Yes Im back :-)

I just compleated my move to the Ohio/Kentucky boarder

OMG Steph God so blessed me this time hun I think I might actually be happy inside Doc again :-)

    Anyhow....a big hug

    Love and Prayers

    Like always

  • Hey Doc....Nice to have you here again...wishing you lots of feel good thoughts.

    :o)

  • OMG u live in Texas!!im gonna move there how the weather there

  • Much Love ...Travis

  • They need to show stuff like that... Where were they when I was growing up and being beat... I don't want the children of today going up with what I went through.... I'm just glad I didn't turn out like my mother and brother... I guess I was one of the lucky ones that didn't turn out so bad... Even through I have problems with the mental state... I'm still not like them... Someone needs to help women and children from being abused.... That's what they need to look into!!!!!

  • shoot. they need to look at how women feel with this abuse stuff. of course we already know, but sheesh. that banner was crazy. wow

  • if only adults saw these ads I'd agree... but if little kids see them, without an understanding of its purpose, it could lead to harm in the long run. if the child asks mom or dad about it, and it leads to a conversation, great. if not, they may just walk away and assume the ads represent "normalcy".

seems like they're playing with fire to me!

  • Fire is what kids face when they see it taking place in their own home... That's FIRE!

  • Yeah these days, shock campaigning works! Kids ask questions and such. The message is clear!

  • I thought so..... :>)

  • sometimes it takes ads so appalling and outrageous to grab peoples attention! They are the ones you remember!

  • Exactly!! Who ever orchestrated this was out to make a statement...and they did!

  • Awesome Steph!

  • i agree it needs to be brought to peoples attention... but in no way do i agree with those pics. personally i think they need to have free self defense classes... especially for people who are known abused women/men.

  • There should be a "love" class for all.... it seems that a lot of people are unable to express love properly or even know how to give it.

  • Amen girl!

  • you are MIA!!!! get yo ass in happy girl!!

  • I'm with you Steph! Sometimes you need cold water thrown at you to wake you up to the realities of what is now what you'd like it to be. 5STARS! Favourited. :)

  • Thank you sweet alesha

  • Great video. I agree violence has got to stop sometime. Boys need to be taught to be good to girls and maybe they will grow up and treat them right. Girls can be bad too.. but the stats say men are more abusive.

  • We must be looking at the same stats.. :o)

  • Great video, Steph. I think it's great that you're talking about this subject. Violence is a terrible thing and can only be stopped if people start to talk about how to end it.

  • you're right....The truth seems to have given a big jolt to the community.
