@AlexSDU Ok let´s see this..Brest, if my memory is good, was a very disavantageous spike in the border line between Germany and USSR. This spike at Brest was set to make a strong geographical position for the invasion of USSR on Western Europe which was supposed to start way after in 1942..But because the Wehrmarcht took USSR by surprise 1 year earlier, a lot of soviet divisions has been encircled at Brest and quickly destroyed.

My mistake. It was not 3 months but until the end of July 1941.

The fortress was declared(by the German) taken on the 30th June, but there was still some pocket of resistance that still survived and continued fighting until the end of July.
