can somebody please..somebody explain to me a bit about the storyline of this game. I'm kind of confused. I know that in the manga, Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, the main character is the takiko, the priestess, who is the girl in modern clothes? oh please help me out. Thank you
@WildSparkler From what I've heard the game is about a girl, Mariko, and her male companion (don't know his name) that get transported into the Universe of the Four Gods (ancient China) through a hand mirror. Mariko becomes something like "the mirror priestess" and meets Takiko, genbu no miko, and her group of seishi. They are supposed to help her get back to the real world. in the process Mariko may fall in love with one of the seishi, or one the genbu no miko's enemies (like Shigi).
oops, sorry. I made a mistake. Hokkan, the country Takiko and her seishi are in is not ancient china. It's supposed to be more like Mongolia-ish (found this out from the internet). Konan is the country that is supposed to be like ancient China. It's the country Miaka came into when she became suzaku no miko.
Don't know why Watase made Genbu Kaiden..I was happy with the original FY. Go Mika and Tamahome...I wished they made that game. I'll still probably hope for this one to come to the US though.
Well, the Suzaku and Seiryuu's myth isn't the first myth in the book right? The Priestess of Genbu and Byako arrived first before Miaka and Yui, it is also clear on the original FY(Suzaku and Seiryuu). That's why I thought that Yuu Watase created this to satisfy audience's curiousity about it.
it looks good, but i don't like the idea that another girl, as for exaple, "Mariko" enter to this world and become like a "second priestess of genbu" and has the same power like TAKIKO. In my opinion, takiko's the best character with Rimudo, and she's the only one priestess of genbu". The manga is so much better than this game, but well..--
I think it's Ok to have a second Priestess of Genbu 'cause there were second priestesses for the other god, Mayo for Suzaku, Yui again as Genbu... Ok... it's getting kinda repetitive...
you haven't even played this game, or know the meaning behind it, how can you say the manga is better? (O.e).... its a RPG game, you are the Character, and get to choose from all those guys who you fall in love with, it seems like a kick ass game to me *wink wink*
Ugh. I don't really like the looks of this game. I don't like the idea of frolicking around as Ms. Mary Sue. I'll just stick with the manga, thanks. But the video itself was really nice!
